a slice of quesadilla on a red plate

We came in to the restraint thinking that it would be a nice day to sit outside. We were wrong, there was a bees best outside on the patio so bees keot swarming our table. We moved tables three times. On top of that my cheese quesadilla came out pretty burnt. I've had better experiences here.

Let's say, I was starving, and I was super excited to come to el toro for the first time. My parents had plenty of stories of drinking fun, and I finally got to go out with them and experience this treasure in the Huber Heights area. When we arrived, there was a short wait but nothing drastic. We were sat in a booth within fifteen minutes of arriving. Immediately the staff chuckled at my mom because she has a good reputation with the restaurant because of a night out with my dad where she tried a large signature drink and left a little drunk. It was a great feeling knowing that my mom had a bit of a reputation for being the life of the party. Anyways, within minutes we had chips and salsa on our table. They took our drink orders and appetizers. I ordered the loaded fries and prepared for the massive order of chimichangas I ordered. My mom got the steak and shrimp. My dad ordered one of their signature drinks and steak. The food was delicious. The food was cooked to perfection, and the flavor was impeccable. Oh! Make sure to try their desert. We had the fried apples with ice cream. It was the perfect end to a perfect night.

Honestly, we had to wait over an hour for or waiter to even come to or table. Food we okay. But the wait was unreal. Would never come back.

First impression? It definitely gives off biker bar vibes from the outside, but once you step inside, it's way more welcoming and laid back than you'd expect. Good atmosphere, friendly people, and the kind of place that feels like a hidden local favorite. I ordered the Biker Burger, and it absolutely delivered. The burger was juicy, flavorful, cooked perfectly, and packed with great taste in every bite. You can tell they care more about making good food than trying to be fancy. If you're making the trip to Buc-ee's and want something local instead of chain fast food, Rip Rap Roadhouse is definitely worth the stop. Great burger, cool atmosphere, and one of those places you're happy you discovered by accident.

Classic tavern setting but great outside deck & patio. Room for live music and both bar & restaurant seating. Service is casual and friendly but efficient and smooth. When I am going from west to east or north to south, this and the Buckhorn Tavern are my two must haves! Highly recommend!

It wasn't too busy when we arrived and got complimentary valet. We were seated right away at this cool four top table connected to the end of the bar. The lighting and ambiance felt upscale and moody. The menu is varied with some really interesting-sounding drinks. I ordered the mi loquita: tequila, blackberry liqueur, house-made hot honey shrub, acidified pineapple. They have some snacks and this bar is attached to Dozo where we had omakase reservations later. We got some of the furikake chex mix, which was a bit sweet and spicy. I loved it! Our drinks were very nice and balanced, and quite tasty. Signature cocktails range from $13-$16 which seemed normal for this type of spot. I'm glad we got to check it out and wish we could have gotten some kind of small souvenir (I love when bars have a matchbook etc.). I'd come back!
