Their al pastor is hella good, sliced off of a trompo. Carne asada are grilled to perfection and not "steamed" from the massive amount of meat on the flat grill. Their burritos and alambre are huge. Love their suadero and lengua (when available). The workers are super nice and will speak english. Their tortillas are made on the premises while the meat and food are being cooked & prepped. Their avocado salsa is spicy but hella good. The onions & cilantro, lime, radish. Spicy green salsa etc are all kept in a refrigerated comdiment table. I'm all for supporting small businesses, but oof, this place was a no for us. My husband ordered me asada fries and got himself a couple of tacos. He ended up waiting about 40 minutes for the food, which feels way too long for a food truck. When he finally got home, we realized they gave him the wrong order, an asada papa rellena instead of the fries. At that point, I was starving, so I decided to just eat it rather than send my poor husband back to wait another 40 minutes. Unfortunately, it was really disappointing. The potato had no flavor, it literally tasted like it had been soaking in water. The asada was overcooked and had a burnt taste, and the cheese was gloppy and bland, melted into one clump instead of being gooey and flavorful. I tried saving it with their salsas, but none had any real spice or flavor. I gave up after three bites. My husband said his tacos were bland too, and he didn't even finish them. My nephew-in-law has been raving about this place, "they even have $1 taco Tuesdays and the line is around the corner before they're even open!" More importantly, he really emphasized on how good they are! Hubbers, Cuzzo (+ kids) and I found ourselves close enough on a random Sunday night, so we decided to make a stop. We each got a burrito, she got the asada and I got the pastor. One Dollar Tacos on Tuesday makes it a super Happy Taco Tuesday! This taco stand is on Prairie Ave, nearest the corner of Redondo Beach Blvd. Parking is not so easy unless you're willing to walk for your meal. We ended up parking over halfway between Redondo Beach Blvd and Manhattan Beach Blvd. My husband was driving by this place late at night one Tuesday about a month ago and stopped to bring some tacos home for us. He told me the tacos were a buck each! The tacos were really good because it was quite a late dinner/bedtime snack! He brought home a bunch of condiments, too! Well, I just got back from two weeks in CO, and we were up for some tacos. Especially $1 tacos, so we set off to join the masses that were already in line. Although there were a lot of people in line and waiting, the process went quickly enough and was smooth. Tacos are $2 at their regular price, which is still a great deal! They sell Burritos, Tortas, Papa Rellena, Alambre, Quesadillas, etc. The meats they have are Al Pastor, Asada, Pollo, Cabeza, Buche, Tripa, Chorizo, and Suadero. The drinks you can get are Horchata, Jamaica, Limonada, Pina, Naranja, and Sodas. Their condiments station is loaded with pretty much anything you'd find at a restaurant! You fill the cups or bags yourself. They have cilantro & onions, pickled habanero & onions, cucumbers, avocado salsa, red salsa, pico de gallo, and lemon wedges Be sure to go near the grill so you can grab some grilled onions and jalapeños! We took our food home. It seemed simpler. They have about 10 stools to sit on, but there are no tables. I need a place to set my food and condiments on. You can pay digitally via Zelle, Venmo, or Paypal. I'm not sure if they accept Credit Cards since they take those other types of payments. We paid with cash. They are CLOSED ON MONDAYS. This has been THE taco truck we go to for our Taco Tuesday night with friends. Although the price for tacos went up 50 cents, the quality is still there for most of the items, most of the time. I usually stick to chorizo and asada for the choice of meat, which 4/5 times hits the spot. Service is good, with the sides being replenished often enough for customers, and they now have a trailer bed with tables and chairs for people to sit and eat now which is nice. $1 taco Tuesday and homemade tortillas - what else is there to say?? I am so surprised that $1 taco Tuesday is still a thing especially in this inflationary environment. The wait is long-ish to order and get the food on Tuesdays, so we typically order 2 meals worth of tacos (about 20). They heat up nicely in the toaster oven the next day. My favorite meats to get is the tripa, asada, and suadero. Their salsa bar is the best and they've also got grilled onions! On non-Tuesdays, we like getting their tortas. The smoky smell of grilled meats will permeate your clothes and hair while you wait, so wear things that you can wash immediately (kinda like after going to AYCE kbbq). Open Tues - Sunday. What I did not like was there was no communication with the prep people inside the truck and the guy taking the order. I understand some items will not be available after a certain time but let your customers know beforehand and put prices up to know! After asking for certain items the order taker mentioned some items not available and the meats available. 30 minutes in waiting after placing my order of 2 sopes de asada and 3 vampires de pastor he then tells me there's no sopr or asada! Really? Couldn't you have told me that before so I can select something else??!! Im not waiting another 15 minutes for my food to get ready mind there's still a line of people waiting for their orders too! I ask for my money back from the sopes and waited an additional 10 minutes for the vampiros de pastor. Im a huge supporter for street vendors but this is unacceptable. Wow, these are hands down some of the best tacos I've had in a while (in the area). I tried the tripa, and it was crispy, juicy, and just so tasty. It's tough to find good tripa, but they totally nailed it here. Pastor was good, kinda mid but the tripa was what did it for me !! $2 per taco, but honestly, it's totally worth it for the flavor. Have been eating here the past 2-3 years or so now. I only get the carne asada tacos and burritos which are pretty darn good. They used to cook the meat over coals when they were working out of the trailer but now they are in a food truck and I did not see them cooking with the coals anymore. The tacos still had good smokiness to it and so I'm thinking that these guys maybe pre-cooking it on the coal at their facilities and then chopping them up and re-heating them on the plate in the truck. I liked that their menu was concise, customer service was great, and thought for what we ordered (4 tacos, torta, and burrito) the price was more than fair. Once we tried the food, it was disappointing. We were able to taste the charcoal in the meat which I personally like when I eat out; however the meat (asada & Al Pastor) was bland, lackluster, no "umph" as someone else's review also mentioned.
