I guess what special about this line is it went around the entire loop of blue then orange then a little of copper, so it's convenient for people who need to commute to downtown, SDSU and maybe even UTC. Other than that I felt it was a bit crowded compared to other lines, people get really loud and annoyed by others who making everything so noisy, the sign did say not to turn on your music during your ride, but they did anyway, then I was hit with a group of protester from Old Town heading back, so the trolley was filled, then again I read the sign that said stay awake so I can't fall asleep either, or someone might attempt to steal my stuffs, I just can't let that happen. Lucky for me, I got off to the copper line faster than I expected.

This transit center is just ok, busy lots of people travel through here. MTS busses Trolley Casino shuttles Greyhound bus Taxis Convenient store seems overpriced Plenty of parking The trolley stop is good, there is a ramp for wheelchair/ strollers, get your tickets in the automatic machine, improvements are being made. The bus area has a stench, sanitation needs to power wash it with bleach. There is security to keep order and people in check but . . . . Some characters smoking weed on the parking lot and other shenanigans. However I have never felt uneasy and my car seems secure to park.

El Cajon Transit Center is the central hub of El Cajon and all of East County. Sadly though, it reflects the same with little effort to change. A very run down area, it needs a huge make over. Even with the officers on duty here, yes, officers, not just security, it isn't a place to care to stay late at night. You do have free parking, but there is also very little in the surrounding area to go to (other than residential). You have your casino buses here, which is nice, and there is a small convenient store in the middle of everything while you wait (needs a make over as well). Overall, this station is not that great whatsoever, which is sad because it is a very busy station.

Take the Anaheim Amtrak train to San Diego jump on the trolley to El Cajon. Take the casino bus to Viejas. I call it planes, trains and automobile to gamble.

Extremely disappointing. There are so many problems with MTS that I don't even know where to start…read more I used the trolley regularly for a period of time and constantly felt like I had to be on high alert. I've witnessed apparent drug use at stations, including people with needles and drug paraphernalia, people behaving extremely erratically, someone screaming bloody murder on the trolley, urine inside an elevator, filthy facilities, graffiti, and elevators being broken for weeks at a time. I understand homelessness, addiction, and mental illness are larger problems that MTS cannot solve. But MTS IS responsible for the environment passengers are expected to use. There needs to be a much stronger and more consistent security presence. It should not feel normal to encounter apparent drug use, bodily waste, and unpredictable behavior while simply trying to get somewhere. I especially can't imagine younger kids, teenagers, or college students having to commute through this every day. Public transportation should be a safe and affordable way for people to get to school and work, not an experience where you feel like you have to stay on high alert the entire time. The fare system also makes no sense to me. The trolley essentially operates on proof of payment with PRONTO scanners and occasional fare inspections. I regularly saw people board without appearing to scan anything, while security checks were inconsistent. If you're going to operate an open system, there needs to be enough enforcement for it to actually mean something. Maintenance is another mess. I encountered an elevator that remained broken for weeks. When I called to ask about it, customer service initially couldn't even find confirmation that it was broken despite it being physically blocked off with caution tape. After checking, I was told that a third-party contractor handled it and there was no timeline for when it would be repaired. Meanwhile, the remaining elevator had urine on the floor. Completely unacceptable, especially for passengers who actually need the elevators. And good luck trying to report anything. The customer service system is horrible. I submitted feedback about these issues and didn't hear back for about a month. When I finally tried following up, customer service couldn't initially find my submission and I ended up getting bounced between Customer Service and Security because apparently neither department knew who was supposed to handle it. I eventually gave up. Safety, sanitation, working elevators, fare enforcement, and basic customer service should not be this difficult. I'm glad I no longer have to rely on the trolley. It's honestly disappointing that this is the state of public transit in San Diego.
