City of Santes has been one that has extensive history prior to joining the Union in September 9, 1850, California was governed at different times by both Spain and Mexico. Today remains of the Spanish Influence can still be seen in the Old Historic Misson Dam Site at the west entrance of the city. With the many years that you find that the city of Santee has the well-designed shopping mall with the many department's stores with the large Target that is located near the Trolley which you can access through the main parking lot. The many changes in the season that you can in the city of Santee and the color of the leaves that change color at Santee Trolley Town Center. The original history of Santee was part of Rancho El Cajon, a Mexican era rancho grant owned by the family of Don Miguel de Pedro Rena, a Calif Ranchero and the singer of the California Constitution. Santee Town center has so many years to see the true history of Santee and the many surrounding areas to see Santee's back history. The design of trolley the Green Line that services from the 12th and imperial is one that has brought so much to Santee. Clean and safe. The Green Line Station is Santee is seconds away from a sheriff sub-station so no need to be looking over your shoulder. It is always clean and tidy, we often see a custodian hard at work making sure all the trash and such is picked up. Security is always present as well. The station is surrounded by shops and eateries. Einstein Bagels and Jamba Juice are steps away. Panda Express, Starbucks, Chipotle, Daphne's, Anny's Fine Burgers and Oggi's, to name a few, aren't much farther. It is definitely one of the nicer stops on any of the trolley lines. We always catch the trolley here to get to Padres games. We go a little early and grab a beer at Oggi's before boarding. Typically we miss a train or two because we never seem to just have one beer. San Diego shows how to build entire communities around transit. This station in suburban Santee, is anchored by the Santee Town Center. It's a shopping mall not particularly friendly to pedestrians, but it's a destination nonetheless. Been here multiple times. It's totally pedestrian friendly - you just have to stay on the sidewalk. Apparently Fred C. Likes to play in traffic. I have been here about 2 times. The station is right next to a Jamba Juice, Stbx, bagel shop and so many more walkable area stores. They have automated machines that are user friendly and are quick and a one way is 2.50 and an all day pass is 5.00. Very reasonable as Linda d. had stated. I just recommend bringing headphones and try and be alert as the trolley isn't the safest place to be. . read more

This trolley station is one of the better ones in San Diego. It is centered right in a shoppping area that has Target, Party City, smaller retail establishments. Or hit some restaurants like: Phils BBQ, Oggis, Chilis, Olive Garden and others. A person can also hop on the trolley at this location and catch the Green Line all the way to Gaslamp. Truly not a bad deal if you already have an MTS pass, it is $5 for a day pass. That sure beats the cost of gas, fighting traffic and hunting down a parking spot. If I utilize this trolley stop, I usually grab a coffee at Starbucks or food from one of the restaurants in this shopping complex. read more

The Santee Green Line station is the last stop on the green line trolley line and splits the Santee Trolley Square Town Center in two as it runs right down the middle. It's a completely renovated station and is well lit throughout the day. There's also plenty of security at this station, not just from MTS Security (as its the last stop), but from the Town Center itself which has its own security. There's tons of things to do to kill time here. Tons of shops, eateries and a Starbucks. It's also close to the Mission Gorge/Cuyamaca four corners of outdoor shopping malls in the area, so great for getting errands done without dealing with large malls, parking night mares, and what not. There's tons of parking at the Center and bus connection depot is behind everything. At night, if security isn't present, I would be careful and make your transfer brief as its tucked behind businesses and behind the Center is a rather large lot of undeveloped land. This station when it first opened has safety issues due to where the depot is but since has upped the ante on security. But still maintain your safety, making your transfers to and from the depot brief and stay in well lit spots if going at night. Buses that connect from the station are 832, 833, 834 and 870. read more
