My friends and I went here after a hike at Rainier because we were starving lol. Tbh it's def more tex mex vibes than authentic mexican but no complaints. I got fajitas. It was huge sizzling platter btw and ordered guac for the table. Everything was pretty decent. Our server was amazing.. her energy was so good and upbeat, made the whole lunch feel chill and fun after a tiring hike. Food portions are massive here so come hungry. I'm not a fan of this place. The food was decent, if not a little bit on the cold side. The regular drinks are very small yet fairly expensive for what you get. Not to mention that you have to pay for the chips and salsa, since it did not come with my dinner (carne asada). I sat at the bar, which hadn't been cleaned and service was very slow on a weekend. It looks like they may have been under staffed, unfortunately. And while they had a Spanish music show playing in the bar area, it was quite loud. I 100% ate here before and was certain I reviewed it, but I think reviews have been purged as this place has been in business for more than a decade and only has a few reviews. A lot of reviews for this place aren't positive, but a few really are, so I decided to trust my gut and double dip on this place. I am going to assume ownership has changed since I was here 14 years ago. I know if was 14 years. Because I had my tax done in town in 2011. Truth be told I remember the food being average at best, but based on photo, the food appears to be new recipes, hence my suspicion it's new ownership since them. I'll be honest, I really want to give these guys 5 stars, but I can't, the food just wasn't lifechanging. One review praised the Carne Asada and I found it basic. What I will say is service was both fast and friendly, the prices were generous, and the food was fine, but everything needed salt and the Carne Asada was a little dry. I also added a crispy ground beef taco to my meal and again, it was fine, but not my style, it was real saucy. Meaning the beef was in a tomato sauce. I like a spicy ground beef with cumin, chili powder. Onion, garlic, etc. Basically, a filling without tomato sauce. This place is completely out of the way for me, but I would return, that said, hopefully they read their reviews and put a little more hometown loving into the cooking. I wanted to love this place! We didn't get our waters for about 35 minutes, after we had to ask. The birria tacos tasted like you mixed chili powder and oil. We went to a nearby brewery and saw El Camino across the street from us. As we were finishing our beer it just looked more and more enticing to have lunch there. And we weren't disappointed in the slightest. The Chile Relleno along with a Tamale were great. I also had rice and beans and needed r o take that home because it was fairly large plate of food. Steve's burrito he got was very good too! And to wrap it all up we had some very tasty fried ice cream for dessert. Went for a quick bite at 7pm. The ambiance was authentic and warm. We were seated right away and our waiter was reasonably attentive. I ordered a chicken enchilada w/rice and beans. There was no cheese in the enchilada which made it dry and not flavorful. My husband ordered the shrimp soup. We had never seen a shrimp soup where the shrimp were very large and still had the shell with legs, head, antennas, eyeballs and you get the picture. They were about 3" long. He had to pull them out of the soup and shell them before adding them back into the soup to eat. They were also were very tough and cooked without being cleaned. The poop and blood line were still present. Not very tasty at all and took a lot of work to eat them and very messy. My husband is not a picky eater at all and will eat pretty much everything. This is the first meal in our 38 years of marriage that he pushed away and said "nope". Needless to say we were very disappointed. Wish I had pictures. It was hard to look at. Never again. read more

We had just finished a big climb near Mt. Rainier, it was getting late and we were famished. We found El Camino based on Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try, as Mexican food sounded good to everyone in our group. The food was solid. But the service is what really hit home. Attentive server, quickly seated us in one of their booth tables. Chips, salsa and their yummy bean dip, immediately appeared. There were four of us and when our chip basket was getting a bit low, another one (and more bean dip) was quickly brought. Water and drinks came quickly and once placed, our order arrived promptly as well. Every one that we interacted with was very nice and welcoming. We were in Enumclaw on a Friday evening, and were planning to stop by our favorite Italian place; however, they had a 40-minute wait to get seated. All the other usual spots were packed as well, so we were thrilled when we walked past the El Camino and discovered a couple open tables available. Going in, the host was busy with a couple door dash orders, so we waited a couple minutes to get seated. No Happy Hour deals gave us the chance to eat in a booth. Our server came by, dropped off a couple menus, and went off to manage a large group nearby. It became apparent at this point that the kitchen was a bit understaffed; several tables were waiting to put their orders in already. About 10 minutes in, our server came by to take our drink order, and offer us chips & salsa, which we eagerly accepted. Quickly scanning the menu, we found our usual favorites, and got our order in with the server - Shrimp Fajitas for me, and Arroz con Pollo for my partner. Waiting for our order, we engaged in small talk for a bit, and surveyed the room. Twenty minutes in, the big party started getting restless, roaming around the restaurant a bit. Ten minutes after that, we started in on our second basket of chips, as we were running low on compelling conversation items. Finally, about 40 minutes after our arrival, the platters started coming out for the big table. Fortunately, our server was very efficient, and was able to get our dinners out shortly thereafter, but still, it was close to an hour wait. I gave them plenty of grace, however, because everyone is short-staffed these days; it's really tough in the restaurant industry. Our food arrived, hot and delicious! In my opinion, the number of shrimp included was less than what I'm used to, for the price; there were 9 shrimp total, and plenty of onions, bell peppers, & sauce. The prices here are higher than the Mexican restaurant we usually go to in Covington, but again, inflation is hitting these places hard. The staff was incredibly friendly, and very attentive; we really appreciated our time with them. The layout of this place is decent; there is a lot of traffic over by the kitchen, but our side of the aisle was not as busy. Parking is a bit of a challenge, being on the main drag through town; we walked over from a few blocks away. Overall, I'd definitely come back to visit the next time I'm in town. read more

We sat there and waited to get our drinks, we received them pretty quickly. I asked for mild salsa since they only bring spicy which I can't handle eating at any restaurant restaurant seemingly and pretty typical request at least for me. I have offered mild salsa there previously several times over the years and it's never been an issue. They usually bring me a small little container of mild salsa tonight they brought me a bigger bowl type deal. We waited probably 15+ minutes with no one coming back to order our food. We finally flagged someone down to politely ask for our waitress. We finally get a waitress who's not very friendly at all and then we proceeded to order. We get the food pretty quickly. Rice is cold. Beans are super salty and my Carne Asada is not Carne Asada, but some sort of fajita nasty meat that is tough and well done when I asked for it to be cooked to medium. It was barely passible food, with small portions for your lettuce, guac, etc. I am just trying to choke this down at this point. The waitress keeps coming back which is good but she seems annoyed if anything is needed. We then we get the checks and I can see on my receipt That I am being charged $2.50 for a side of Mole, which I did not order Mole. I ordered a side of mild salsa in place of the spicy one provided like I normally do. The woman who took our drink order and who I asked for mild salsa I guess did not understand. I guess what I meant by mild salsa. Then I'm being told I am being charged when I ask why am I being charged, as I never have before and I was never told that I would be I was asked by the waitress What do you mean you were never told what do you mean that you have ordered it before and never been charged. Are you sure you've never been charged before and a bunch of other bullshit of rudeness and arguing with me because I have been here over there several times and never been charged for this not once and I should be told if I'm going to be charged for something because I had no idea, and I wouldn't have ordered it if I would be charged for it as I tried explaining that she got her manager who asked if there's a problem with the bill I said yes I don't wanna pay for this, which I was asked why don't you wanna pay for it which I had to explain again I was never told I would be charged and that is not freaking ok and she's like OK well in future you will be charged for it and I said well next time you should be informing us before giving it to me that we're gonna be charged as she's walking away and ignores me. They throw the checks and we leave with no goodbye or anything which is not surprising they were rude at best and I don't wanna go anywhere ever again that is going to be rude to me over questioning something like that or just seeming annoyed to take your order when we were nothing but friendly to them had no complaints about the meal, we never complained for anything except this bill so good luck you're losing a customer. Don't recommend anyone eating here and giving them the support. They don't deserve it. Ambience was loud and seats were all right. read more

Have been going to El Camino since it was on the other side of town. It's good - not great. I usually have the arroz con pollo (or camarones) which is good. I ventured out and tried the tacos with a side of rice and beans - they were all just meh (the brought me lengua instead of pastor so I don't know how the pastor are). My nephew ordered the dinner special with 6 tacos (he got 8 and tons of meat on his, I had to use a microscope to find my meat). The marguerita was small and just tasted like mix from Costco. Best Mexican food I've found in WA since moving from FL. Didn't expect to find it in Enumclaw. Shame it's so far from where I stay in WA!

My wife and I were purchasing a dining room set around the corner and thought that we would grab some dinner while in Emunclaw, so I viewed nearby restaurants and decided on El Camino less then a block away. What a great decision. The chips, salsa and bean dip were fresh and delicious. The margaritas were tasty. Our meals were cooked to perfection, and the serving sizes were huge. My wife ordered the chicken quesadillas and ended up bringing half of them home. I ordered the pork burrito with green sauce... yummy. Although we live eight miles away in Bonney Lake we will be keeping this restaurant on our short list. The only reason that this restaurant did not earn a fifth star is because it's decor is a bit outdated. But with a makeover, this would become a real destination location. read more

The only reason not 5 stars is really because of the food, it is ok nothing real special tastes good and gets you full but doesn't make me write home to Mom.
