If I could give this restaurant with their current management a zero, I would.This place lacks service, or at least they did with me and my friend. Stopped by to get some food with my buddy. We were seated for about 15 minutes before anybody even approached us or brought us water which was odd because the guy that came in solo after us, got his order taken and his food in front of him by the time we left after a total of waiting about 25 minutes. The gal dropping off the chips and water scurried back into their service station after taking so long, and didn't take the time to ask us for beverages so that's when I drew the line and we got up and left because I wasn't there to burn up my afternoon on waiting. We were about the 5th table there so there was no excuse to be ignored for that long , this place sucks since Alvaro left, I promise you he wouldn't have wasted my time like that. Wow! So glad we took some of the reviews with a grain of salt... because our experience was 5 stars! The staff is welcoming and attentive. Our waiter was the sweetest young man. He was engaging & attentive. Our food was brought to us promptly after ordering. Despite reading the review about portions being small, that was not our experience. Our food was fresh, tasty, and best of all the veggies weren't overcooked mush. Although it's an older restaurant, it's very warm and inviting. (Beautiful glass stars hanging from the ceiling.) Our semi large group showed up an another Mexican restaurant in town only to be looked at like they just wanted us to go away... so we did, and I'm so glad we did! We decided on Magueys. They welcomed us graciously! They have a new menu, amazing staff and a new look. They let me order my favorite dish that wasn't on the menu and it was delicious! I stopped in for a lunch on a Saturday randomly and was quite surprised. It was about 2:30 in the afternoon and there were only a few tables available. I sat down and was immediately greeted by the waitress with chips and salsa and a menu. She took my drink order and brought me back a margarita that was excellent! I've had good experiences all the times I've eaten here with my family. The first two visits were appetizers and margaritas. I like their carne asada fries. It's enough for two to share if you're just eating light and want a drink. The third trip I tried their street tacos. Different from what I have gotten at other places. Taco shells are larger for example. But generous portions. There are several other things on the menu I'd like to try. The staff was friendly and very attentive to us. read more

Last night was my first time dining at Mageuy's. I've been watching their menu and Yelp for the last year and just never seemed to make it...BIG MISTAKE!!! I can't believe I've been missing this in my life. For starters, they greeted us promptly with menus and had chips, salsa and a sort of cabbage relish on the table quickly. The server came by to take our drink order (Strawberry Margarita and a hard cider). Minutes later she brought our drinks and took our order. My hunny got the Cancun, a mix of chicken, seafood and veggies with rice & beans and tortilla. I ordered the Carne Asada y Chile Relleno with rice & beans and tortilla. My Chile Relleno (I've had it at MANY restaurants) was by far the most flavorful and well prepared I've ever had. The steak was good and the rice was LIFE!! And my husband said it was the best Mexican food he's ever had (he doesn't give compliments willy-nilly). If you're looking for legit Mexican food, good drinks, friendly atmosphere then you should definitely stop into Mageuy's!! read more

I don't know what it is about Enumclaw and Mexican food, but they sure do have many choices and high ratings. The original Ranchito's is here, but no one really talks about it anymore and Pita's, which is probably the most overrated taco shop in history is also in the zip-code. Yet, this place decided the city was ripe for one more cantina. Reviews here mostly talked about how good the food was and how large the portions were. I hate to contradict, but despite being decent, the place fell far short of expectations. Before I get into the negative, let's talk about the positive. Service was both fast and friendly, prices were reasonable, and the food was piping hot. Unfortunately, despite those being three major perks, it wasn't enough. Here are my issues. It was a huge platter, but very little food was on it. It wasn't a dinner portion; it was a lunch portion. My guess, the portions used to be huge, but they scaled back. A child sized portion of rice and beans. If you are going to be cheap at a Mexican restaurant, at least fill the plate with rice and beans, it cost you almost nothing, makes the plate look bigger and fills people up. I had the Carne Asada, the meat tasted really fresh, but it lacked seasoning. In addition, there was no salt on the table, so I was forced to eat an under seasoned meal. The meat also had a fair amount of gristle. Instead of being the lean well-seasoned entrée I'm used to, this place apparently lost the recipe on the way to Enumclaw, from Mexico. If the place was local, I might consider another try, but Enumclaw is the definition of out of the way. That said, since "The Claw" is the states poster child for "No Diversity", I'm sure this is the flavor of old Mexico to its residents. read more

We tend to stop here on our way home from skiing. The food is very consistent, and the environment is clean. The staff doesn't really go out of their way to be friendly, however; it feels like they want you to pass through as quickly as possible, to make room for the next patrons. Unfortunately, it's been this way on multiple visits. So many other places like this, the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Since dining is takeout only in King County, this isn't an issue right now, but hopefully this changes as we get back into the usual sit-down environment again. Parking is a bit challenging on a busy afternoon, but usually there's plenty to go around. read more

We came here after skiing tonight. It's the second time our family has eaten here and it doesn't disappoint. Tortilla soup is delicious with a rich broth that warmed us all the way through. Quesadilla with beans and rice was a hit with our teenage son. I love a chile relleno and was a happy eater. Chips, salsa and guacamole were spot on. And service was great. New in town so we stopped by today for the first time. I ordered a combo taco and beef enchilada, my wife ordered the chicken fajita. First let's talk about the taco, I thought it would be some hard stale shell, oh no it was fresh and had a very light crunch, beef seasoned perfectly. The enchilada was delicious couldn't finish it. The beans and rice made fresh daily, delicious. When do you see that? My wife loved everything about the chicken fajita, moist and lots of flavor.
