I got everything I could ask for when visiting Mazatlan for the first time in over 20 years. Got a family friendly booth. Service was what it was considering one waiter for the entire place. (We grabbed our own silverware. And hot sauce...) Ambiance was not too loud. Food was to be as expected, nothing bad or nothing unique for this specific location. Respectfully this place is a no, we tried to give it a chance because it's 2 minutes from our house but everything was pretty awful. The chile verde seemed like it was from a can I knew when I opened the container by the smell it was off. There were some pieces of hard rice & the beans were probably from a can. I only give it 3 stars for the Margarita. The food was ok, not good or great. Order was placed and was accurate. The disappointment came when I started to look out the windows, even after dark it was filthy and obviously hadn't been cleaned for a really long time. Usually they pretty overfill it with onions low and because of my heartburn I asked for light onions in fact for the gentleman actually called me back to confirm onions he kept saying no onions I kept correcting him and letting him know no light onions. Picked up my food as I work in the area and live in Buckley more towards money lake initially he forgot the tortillas which wasn't a big deal so I sit in bridge traffic on the way home get home put my dog say hello to my kids sit down to eat my food and noticed that it is chicken breast prawns only onions no mushrooms and a large amount at that more than typically what they put to fill it I called into the restaurant and instead of apology the guy tells me that they ran out of crab a while ago and I said that's certainly fine however that should've been something you told me about prior to ordering the mail that I paid $23 for with a three dollar tip might I include even though I wasn't dining and drug due to Covid. Went here with my coworkers after a little nature hike today. One of our friends wanted flan dessert so bad so we ended up eating here. The staff here was so nice. When we entered the establishment, we were immediately greeted and they set up a table for our large party of 13. Endless tortilla chips, salsa and beans. Waiter kept on refilling our waters. We had excellent customer service. Service with a smile. Drinks were nice and food was piping hot and delicious. We wouldn't think an authentic Mexican restaurant would be here in the mohntains, but glad it was here because I missed real Mexican food. They even asked if we wanted separate checks and they read our minds. This place is a good restaurant with good service and good food. My first response to this resturant is YUCK! You can change the menu as much as you want, but if you don't change the customer service you will eventually have no customers. Then uping the prices? Plus, what is up with all the children that are serving? It seems like there is only two adults running the place. The food is absolutely disgusting. The chicken taco was literally chicken breast boiled in water. They were also wrapped in hard shell taco like that of taco bell. We stopped by with a group of four after a long day of "pow pow" on the slopes at Crystal. We weren't necessarily in the mood for Mexican. But, we saw the "Mazatlan" sign from the 410, and we decided to stop by. Boy were we glad that we did. I went with a wet burrito that weighed more than my niece. I've been supporting this business for decades. I've had good service for many years. Today was a fiasco. A large order was called in under my name and when I arrived I waited 15 minutes before even being helped. Then another 10 minutes only to find out they didn't have anything called in. My wife specifically asked for certain items which I mentioned and there was no record. Arriving home with nothing, my wife said she had a solid conversation with the person taking the order and it was recommended that we not order the platter because it takes longer than other dishes... something they certainly would have remembered. Mazaltan isn't awful, but it certainly isn't great. It has its good moments and its bad, but honestly I think the restaurant suffered the most because of its mediocrity. It was a strange place to get into, for starters. The entrance was odd. Obviously this isn't a huge deal and honestly doesn't matter that much, but it was strange to see normal white house doors as the entrance to a restaurant and it made one feel uncertain that they were going into the right door. There were a few noticeably good things about the restaurant. It was clearly clean and had a bright interior that made one think of a mexican restaurant without being cheezy. The restrooms were clean, although more than a bit chilly. We were brought chips, which were room temperature and fairly nondescript, and salsa. We were given two different salsa options, which was nice. The normal tomato salsa was mediocre, but there was also a tomatillo sauce that came alongside the normal salsa. The tomatillo sauce was fantastic and had some great cilantro tones, though it was quite a bit too spicy for my tastes. Our server was very friendly, and when my mother and I both ordered our meals with vegetarian beans he asked if the rest of my family would need their meals to be vegetarian too, which was nice. I ordered the bean burrito with guacamole. The bean burrito was a little salty, and there was little to no cheese mixed inside the burrito with the beans as it said there would be, though there was some on the top. The guacamole was incredibly bland, though it was refreshing when paired with my burrito. The ranchero sauce of my burrito was very salty, and the actual beans inside my burrito were very bland. The rest of my family also found their meals to be salty. They all ordered the cheese enchiladas. We ordered three different desserts: the sopapillas, the flan, and the churros. The sopapillas, which we were explicitly told would be drizzled with honey, were drizzled with a cheap syrup -my mind wanders to Aunt Jemima's pancake syrup- as were the churros. The flan was good, though felt heavier than better flans I've had. The churros were over cooked and not soft enough. The sopapillas were fairly decent, even with the aforementioned honey-syrup mix up. All in all, I wouldn't try to go there, but if I was brought there I wouldn't complain too much. read more

As a family, we LOVE Mazatlans better than any other Mexican restaurant in town. We always get the best of service! It's a family run business, and when we come in, they treat us as family. My favorite is the Pollo ala Crema.... So delicious!! Tons of chicken and mushrooms in a creamy sauce. Another favorite is the carne asada quesadilla... The meat is amazing, and it has all the trimmings. We love this restaurant and it's our go to, when we have family or friends in town. I gave one star because there was no option for zero! Worst restaurant ever! It was our first time there and definitely the last time! Not only that we had to wait almost an hour for our food (having small kids), but when it finally came, it was cold, hard to chew, like yesterday's left overs! We asked for water at the beginning and we got it with our bill at the end! Food was terrible, service was under all expectations, nobody really seemed to care about customers there.
