We visited Pita's Taqueria to pick up some portable food to eat while hiking at Mt. Rainier. This particular restaurant is a food stand connected to a gas station with just a couple of seats outside. They're pretty efficient so we had our food within a couple of minutes. Pita Burrito, Carne Asada ($16.27) - Huge burrito incoming, probably over 2 lb. I would say similar to Mission-sized, but the interior ingredients are not quite up to standard. Still, very impressive for the region. There's a large tortilla, warm and pliable, absolutely filled with tons of stuff. Firstly, a very good portion of beef, not seasoned much other than salt, but giving a great beefy flavor. The beef chunks are crisped up on the flat top perfectly, giving plenty of texture. This does dry out the meat, so there's a tradeoff, but that's what the cheese, guac and sour cream are for. Enough moisture is included so that, while not nearly as messy to eat as a typical Mission burrito, it's enough for each bite. There's a well balanced portion of rice and beans as well. The construction is pretty good so the burrito can be eaten in the hand without issues. (5/5) Is this the best burrito in the world, as some people seem to think? No way, but I think it's very solid for being in Washington and is one of the best I've had since moving to the state. Note: Pita's charges a little extra for credit card usage. I'm not sure how much percentage (it was 27 cents for us), and I don't recall them having a sign up stating they charge for credit cards. read more

My husband and I visited Enumclaw in Washington for a short stay to visit Mount Rainier. We were craving Mexican food and we found out that this place had decent reviews so we came here. The shop itself was pretty tiny with only a few outside spots that were covered with grass, next to a gas station. We ordered some tacos and Carne Asada fries, and surprised that the price was pretty high. They all came out to $55 dollars. I think they should update their brochures and pamphlets with the recent price changes because it seemed like all the prices went up. When we got the food, the food itself tasted pretty good. I especially liked the Carne Asada fries with the potatoes and the seasoning, with the two sauces, red and green that they give us for extra flavor. Service was attentive, they were all really sweet and nice. People came back-and-forth just to pick up the food, it seems like a local hotspot. If visiting Enumclaw again would probably visit again. read more

I came here 2/3 times a few years ago and they were so good. My friend had a Dr's appointment near by so I suggested it, there was one couple ahead of us so it took a few minutes for them to take our order... nbd or so I thought. We got 2 burritos a quesadilla and a side of guacamole. it took 28 minutes after I paid?! For Mexican food?!? That was precooked in containers? The tortilla weren't even toasted, they completely fell apart a few bites in. The meat was SOO SALTY, the cheese quesadilla wasn't even melted all the way through? It was so bad and so confusing. Something changed with their tacos and this place is no longer 5 stars. $4 per taco is a bit pricey in general but when they just lay out 5 tortillas (single not double like they used to) and put the toppings on top those aren't tacos. Meats (asada and pork) were fine but not the flavor or texture they used to be. Toppings (onions and cabbage) were fine and verde salsa was good. Unless they go back to their old taco style unfortunately we won't be back. read more

Alright, when y'all (and by y'all I mean, you homogeneous Enumclaw folks) say this is THE NATION's best burrito, the rest of us have to assume we will need a grain of salt. And I was right. As of March 2023, please know their menu is caput and it's CASH ONLY. The nice lady kept talking to us about how she's rebranding and how the menu is down to like literally 4 things (tamales, tacos, burritos and ?? Idk because she said the word rebranding like 89 times). That also means most of their less common meats, such as lengua, are gone. We wasted too much time choosing items that she kept saying were no longer available. At this point, the menu already looks janky, just cover or cross the things you're getting rid of and avoid the waste of time. Sure, the size of the burritos is nice. This isn't new or amazing, there are plenty of other big burrito places in Pierce and King county. The tortilla was nice, the rice and beans were nice, but the meats were burnt/toasty/crispy, and yet their "salteada" veggies were raw. Mm. Do you get a lot? Yes. Is it above par to a lot of other places? No. The green salsa was literally flavorless, and that's weird because it came with red onion, so you'd think. But no. At $34 for 2 burritos, I just have a lot of questions about who named this place the best in the nation. Was not impressed with our Pita's order this evening. Our Asada burrito was mainly filled with lots of rice(filler) , a little GROUND up asada(assuming in an effort to save on cost) and some cheese. Not much flavor except salt. That's it- those three ingredients. Our chicken nachos were better, lots of chicken , large portion, but was VERY salty- even for Mexican food. I have been a customer of pitas since 2017. I've always been satisfied. But the last time I was there I did not have a good experience. The cashier was rude. I paid $60 for 4 Burrito's. Waited 45 minutes for our burritos and then was told they are too busy and was offered to refund my money. I drove an hour to get the burritos for my kids. Pita usually always makes it right. We've driven by this place probably 50 times in the last year. Each time my son (who is 16 and a little of a foodie) has said. "Best burrito in the state we should try it" My initial take was. This is a taco stand on the side of a gas station. We're going to get sick. Saturday we picked up my daughters friend. Did some yard work and on the way home my son said "I'm buying everyone a burrito let's stop" We all got the same thing. Breakfast burrito. (4 of them) in hindsight wish we'd gotten a couple different things but..... They were DELICIOUS!! Please don't be like me and let the location fool you. This place is legit. Such a gem of a find for authentic, quality Mexican eats. I found Pita's by chance while passing through Enumclaw and craving a breakfast burrito and Yelp did not disappoint. I had the chorizo + egg which was savory well balanced-- perfect ratio of eggs to meat albeit HUGE so it served as breakfast and lunch. It'll definitely satisfy the biggest appetites. We also ordered the carne asada + egg which and they're generous with their asada. The salsa is the best I've had in a while. The red gave the perfect amount of heat and the verde was tangy and delicious. Can't wait to go back and try their birria and other dishes. It's about 25-30 minutes from me but SO worth the almost hour trip (both way) for good Mexican food. read more

Pita (the owner) was up front to take our order and was so extremely personable and upbeat- she was super patient and gave fantastic recommendations on what burritos my friends and I should get. Each burrito is HUUUUGE, and filled to the max. I ended up getting the ranchito burrito with carne asada. The meat was well seasoned and the fillings were so good. I ended up eating half of the burrito and taking the other half home. I had the veggie quesadilla - which was HUGE, my wife had a pork taco and chicken taco which were normal size. Personally I may not have stopped at this simple taco stand outside a gas station if my local family member had not suggested we go out of our way for some of the best Mexican take out in the state. They were right, the lunch lived up to the hype. The menu was much bigger than I had expected but the counter service was super fast, helpful, and friendly. Serving sizes are huge too, well at least the chicken quesadilla surprised us. It was gigantic, stuffed with fresh cooked shredded chicken and cheese. The sauces, perhaps authentic, were a bit too spicy for me, but the food was flavorful enough that sauce was not really needed. It's $1.50 for one corn tortilla. ($3.50 per taco) If you don't care about prices, then it's definitely for you. SUPER nice folks, VERY fast, free salsa, but if you're looking for better prices and tacos that are just as good (if not better), I'd recommend Tres Renos (right next to the barbershop). WOW! Don't be turned off by the location, it's located on the side of a Chevron station. You have to go if you're in the area or make it a destination place, you will not be disappointed! Friendly family business that cares about everything they offer. The red and green sauces, the burritos, the tacos- I would've tried more items but the portions are huge! Luckily shared a burrito because there is no way I could've eaten a whole one- even after a hike! Hidden gem worth looking for! I had an event in Enumclaw, so wanted to get lunch beforehand and found along WA-169 Pita's Taqueria! After reading the great Yelp reviews (Thanks, Yelpers!) I had to stop by and fortunately, it was a nice day for it because Pita's is carry-out only, with just a small outdoor patio/seating area. It's also easy to miss, as it's located right by a gas station so if you're not specifically looking out for it, you may miss it since it's a small building with a walk-up window. There was a short line of locals, mostly getting take-out by the time I arrived on a Thursday around noon. I even asked the lady behind me if she's been here before, which she had, and asked for recommendations. She told me to get a burrito, and so I did, with the chicken, as the cashier said it was her favorite and it had a smoky flavor to it from the grill. Although I was leaning towards the shredded beef, I'm glad the cashier convinced me to get the chicken, suggesting that the shredded beef is soaked in its own sauce so in a burrito - it's really messy. Not something I wanted to deal with before an event I was speaking at! But, the chicken ended up turning out tasty! It did have that smoky flavor that she described and liked that it was finely chopped up, to really get a piece of chicken with every bite! I ordered a Pita's Burrito with the chicken and the thing was huge! It actually turned out to be lunch and dinner for me the day I visited. I really enjoyed everything about the burrito, and they also give you a red and green sauce on the side - and if you love spicy food then you'll love the red salsa! Pita's Taqueria is such a great, hole-in-the-wall joint, serving up authentic Mexican food! Stopped by this hole in the wall authentic mexican place adjacent to Chevron gas station on our way back from Mount Rainier! This was one of the best mexican food we have tasted in WA for sure. We ordered the pita burritos (chicken, asada and pork), chicken tacos, veggies tacos and veggie quesadillas. All of the items above were delicious. The green and red salsa they have is next level awesomeness that elevates the flavor profile of all dishes to another level! Please do not miss adding this to ur plate. Beware - The portion sizes of the quesadillas and pita burritos is huge! Tacos are addictive as well. They have 3-4 small tables outside and you can get your pet here provided they do not disturb the other guests. The price is very reasonable especially for the portion sizes they serve its a steal. We ordered 2 Pita Carne Asada burritos. HUGE! I could only eat half even though my stomach was screaming "finish it because it will not reheat well!" We'll it actually did reheat well. I was kinda impressed by just that small thing. Awesome flavors with their rice, guacamole, cilantro, white cheese and sour cream. Not too dry and not too messy. The best part is that it's right down the road from me. We also got one taco each because who doesn't want to try every taco from every taco truck on earth? Those were hand made corn tortillas. But they only tasted so so; pretty dry. All the right ingredients were there so I'm not sure where it failed. I probably won't order those next time. I wish their hot (red & green) sauce had a little more developed flavor but the burrito didn't really need it because it was so good on its own. All in all, I'll be back! read more

The sign on the road reads, "Best Burrito in the State". This is a challenge that is hard for me to pass. It started haunting me every time i drove by the sign and eventually i stopped and got a Burrito. I don't know if this is the best in the state, but it's the best fricken burrito I have had in recent memory. The refried beans are excellent. You can tell they are scratch made and not just dumped out of a can. I think the perfectly sautéed onions and peppers is also what makes this burrito stand out.
