Finding myself in Erie a lot lately for work, ordering takeout from here on repeat. Food is tasty, well priced and in general packaged ok enough for takeout. Marked this place on Yelp months in advance cause there was a lot of positives. We went here for a quick bite, I had a quesadilla that the chicken was so insanely dry. Queso is watery. My partner said the guac was sweet and no seasoning. Waiter got out drinks and food and didn't see him for a good chunk of time. The restaurant wasn't even that busy. One star is very generous for this place. The food is not good. Lacks flavor and has no trace of Mexican food, besides it kinda looks like Mexican food. Everything is on a steam table. The fajita texana was ok. decent amount of meat but not that much vegetable sadly. we also had the taco with carne asada... disappointment. flour tortillas with only a few slivers of beef and not much to fill the tacos out with. they give you a tiny scoop of pico de gallo. no onion. no cilantro. i guess you can use the lettuce, rice and refried beans. i also felt their small cup of salsa (for chips) for four people was a little skimpy. sadly, not many Mexican restaurants serve this area. read more

Finding a restaurant that is not a chain is next to impossible in Erie or at least on Peach St. We love Mexican food , even though there was only one car in the lot we thought maybe we were early (5pm ish ) Initial reaction the restaurant wasn't clean and looked old inside. But we were hungry and wanted to stay. Big Mistake ! We ordered 2 meals and the beans were mush and flavorless and the rice tinted with tiny bit of orange sauce. Yumm! We visited Erie for a night and the receptionist at our hotel suggested this place as a great mexican spot. I got the california burrito chicken. It was a great size and covered in queso. I was happily pleased by how flavorful it was! The meat was very well seasoned and not dry at all. My boyfriend got the 2 enchiladas combo. His were DELICIOUS! He had beef tips and chicken. I am always nervous to order beef tips because they can often be tough, but these certainly were not. We'll be sure to keep this place in mind if we're back in Erie. read more

Updated review... just like the other updated review. They had no guacamole and I thought it was really disturbing how I wasn't even told ahead of time. It was just not put on the dish, like I wouldn't miss it. That insults my intelligence. You could barely see the chorizo in it and the meat/vegetables usually fill the whole "pan", but not this time. The price went up to $16.99 and the quality went down. I can get a decent sirloin for that price. I hope this isn't a trend. If I wanted to be treated like this, I'd go to the one on Buffalo Road. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This was the worst wanna be Mexican food ever! Soupy and salty refried beans. The Mexican rice was mushy and bad tasting, they obviously didn't fry the rice first. Cheese mix tasted like it had Velveeta mixed in. "Chili Relleno" was a green pepper cut in half, grilled and slathered with Velveeta like cheese mix. Tamale? was unrecognizable. Weird concoction. This is my go-to for Mexican in Erie. I do think the restaurant's appearance is following a chain-restaurant blueprint. It just looks like a more festive TGI Fridays. With that aside! Their food is so fresh and made to order.I have never been served room temperature food. The serving sizes are large enough to fill you up but not take it home. Perfect. Thier steak, pork/beef tips,and chicken is full of flavor and they don't skimp on it. The only thing I don't care for is their ground beef, but who says that's authentic Mexican anyway?! Oh, their churros and fried ice cream will put you into a food and sugar coma. Say goodbye to pre packaged desserts in the freezer aisle once you've tried it.
