The variety of tacos--including beef, chicken, and vegetarian options--was fantastic, and everything was freshly made and delicious. The rice, beans, queso, salsa, and chips were equally outstanding. The members of our organization could not stop raving about the food! There was plenty for everyone, everything was fresh and flavorful, and the delivery service prompt. El Amigo Catering made feeding such a large group completely stress-free at a reasonable price. We would definitely use El Amigo Catering again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for delicious food, generous portions, and wonderful service. Five stars all around!

This is the spot for a great Mexican food, they give huge portion of food for a reasonable price. Always start of with their trio dips that consists of queso , chori-queso dip and the guacamole. Complimentary chips and salsa is served minutes right after you are seated. Though, I must warn you that the service can be very slow and servers tend to be forgetful about parts of your order. Our last visit here they got our order wrong twice and this time they forgot our water and tortilla. I would definitely come back for their food, but might just opt for a takeout instead.

The place gives Americanized taco place vibes. Well surprise! The birria was fantastic and very authentically Mexican. The al pastor is also great. They could do much better with the agua fresca but I can overlook that for actual authentic Mexican food! Good job! We will be back.

The cashier gave me a look and turned it down one notch - barely perceptible. Haven't been served yet, but I'll return to rate the food. I'm back. The food was a bit bland for Mexican food. However, it wasn't terrible, but mostly a bowl of rice with a few shrimp and grilled vegetable. At $12 or so it was reasonably priced. Now, to get back to the sound level of the TV - part of the problem was the employees had their own music playing behind the counter. I'm an engineer, so I have a db meter on my phone. While we ate I recorded the sound level in the room. It was between 70db and peaked at 90db. I've included a screenshot of the peak sound - you can see the equivalent level on the chart. I don't think I was out of line asking to turn it down (it was louder). A little cultural background music creates a pleasant ambiance. Loud music is just annoying - I won't return.

Of course, that's a shame, but lets hope that the presence of Ernies leads to more people taking the time to get the permits, figure out the logistics, and take this risk. Located on weekdays during work hours at Perry Square, Ernies is a small, locally-owned food truck that offers up Erie's own Smith hot dogs, Italian sausages, hamburgers, turkey burgers, cheesesteaks, steak wraps, BLTs, pulled pork sandwiches, and more. It's a safe menu, sure, but Ernies makes every meal fresh and made-to-order. This means that it takes a little longer (my Italian sausage with onions and peppers took probably 6-7 minutes), but being so fresh and at an extremely reasonable price of $4, it was well worth the wait - especially considering the guys behind the counter were personable and more than willing to chat with me while they were cooking, as it wasn't too busy. From out of town and need to get a fresh Smith's hot dog (aka the best hot dog on the planet)? Here's your chance. As much as I love Sara's for what it is, I've never liked that their dogs sit on the burners for way too long. Here, you don't have to worry about that. Support these guys. They're local... and if they do well, who knows? We could very well see some more of these pop up downtown (how about an El Canelo taco truck, a place with Lake Erie perch fish tacos, Erie pierogies and pepperoni balls, etc.?).
