All you need to do is make your arrangements to get to Ketchikan and they take care of everything else. Flights in and out of Craig via a float plane and lodging in Ketchikan the night before you fly home if needed. We fished for 4 days with Kelsey who has been a captain for 5 years. He put us on fish, made it fun and did not miss a single thing that would have the day on the water any better. Great captain and just a great guy! Lodging was great with clean and comfortable 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom suites with kitchens. The staff cooked up some fantastic dinners and had some great food waiting for us when we came off the boats to hold us over until dinner. Best of all was the way the clean and process the fish. It was filleted, vacuum packed and put in 50 lb boxes that were flash frozen and shipped to Ketchikan Airport. You show up the morning of your flight, claim your fish and check it in. It was picked up at my airport when my bags came through baggage claim on the carousel. 10+ hrs after I took off and landed it was still frozen when I got home and put it the freezer. Great place, great food and clean comfortable accommodations!!! Can't wait to go back and do it again.

We were picked up at the Ward Cove pier…read moreby a wonderful young lady, Brooklyn, who was very pleasant and a wonderful conversationalist who, being from the area all her life answered so many questions about the area. When we arrived to the fly shop we were given some basic information and then led to the plane with our pilot(Jim) and Brooklyn. Once in the plane we were given clear safety instructions by Jim and off we went. One of our group was a small plane pilot himself and even he stated that he was very impressed with Jim's piloting skills. The flight was smooth and the skies were clear which allowed us all to get beautiful views from all sides of the plane. The scenery was magnificent and the information given in a recorded message by our pilot Jim was very informative. We were able to land in the fiord and I can honestly say that the landing was perfection as you did not even know you touched the water before slowing down to drift! We were able to get out of the plane in water that was 600' deep and sit on the floats. The most peaceful place on earth and scenery that was indescribable. We got a photo op and more information about the history and area before getting back into the plane for the ride back to the dock. If you do anything in Alaska it has to be whale watching in Juneau and flying with Family Air in the Misty Fjords National Monument in Ketchikan. Thank you for such a memorable experience!
