This park is large and spacious with plenty of free parking. There were kids playing at the baseball fields, soccer fields, and at the playgrounds. El Cariso Park hosts a regular farmer's market on Sundays. Stopped by for some coffee and pastries at E&V Kaffee! Such a delicious spot for raw honey lattes, chai teas, croissants and so much more. I cannot get enough of the fresh air, the cleanliness, the multiple recreational areas it has as basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields and of course synthetic soccer field. El Cariso Park is a beautifully landscaped park. It was my first time visiting the park and admittingly I came for Pokemon Go. While walking the park the walking path is interesting. Not your normal straight path to get to the area you want to get to. I feel this makes the walk a lil more interesting. While getting to my destination I saw many park amenities such as a baseball field, tennis courts, places to chill and hang out, kids play area with shade, gazebos with shade, and etc. My stay wasn't too long but I was so impressed by the park I decided to take a look online for what the park has to offer. To add to what I saw during my short visit I see there are basketball courts, A larger baseball field, a football field, a golf course as its backyard, some pavilions and trails that lead into the mountains. Walked around the park along cemented pathways to explore their amenities and found basketball courts, tennis courts, a few pickleball courts, a soccer field that requires a permit for use. Today was my first visit to El Cariso with my son and his mommy and me group. The park is large and spacious with a pool, football field, many play areas, and several walking trails. We really enjoyed the younger childrens play area which had a sandpit, tons of slides, and swings for babies/children/special needs swings. The play area was located close to bathroom #4. Parking was plentiful and the park was very clean. I am very impressed by the park and will be happy to return. read more

I have been coming to this park for many many years! As a kid I used to come here and when I moved back to CA from HI I moved back to the city I grew up in so I still frequent many of the places I grew up going to. It's fascinating and great to have full circle moments with places that have sentimental value. I mostly come here to train for running. The uphills are killer and definitely build the endurance I need to build. Not great on the knees but not complaining! I love that this park is clean and they have done a lot of restoration and new building additions! I have also come here to see my best friend's daughter play basketball and softball. It's a pretty big sized park. I run the perimeter of it and it's about 3 miles or so. There's a golf course as well. read more

This is my go to park for my kids (7 & 5). This place is HUGE! There are two play areas in the middle of the park. One is for the older kids the other for younger kids. My kids love this place, we would go all the time pre-covid and expect to start going again once it's safe. read more

We celebrated our baby's first birthday there a few days ago and everyone enjoyed there. Pretty big and lots of playgrounds for kids, not so crowded like Griffith park or Pan pacific park. You have to reserve picnic spots at least 2 weeks prior online. We will recommend this park too people. read more

This is one of my favorites park! I drive over 30 minutes for my park. We have been to multiple events at this park and we always have a good time. There are three different entrances which makes the park huge. The best part about it is there are plenty of parking spaces and plenty of bathroom. Both are a must have in my book. I usually come to El Cariso to play tennis, since they have 12 courts. Although during Summer they are all reserved by the summer tennis program from certain times. The tennis courts are always clean and it's not easy to find a court if you get there early, about 6 p.m. The park itself is also super clean and has plenty of activities. With playgrounds, basketball courts, handball courts, baseball/softball/football fields and a pool. There is also space for parties, but for that I think there is a process through the park. This park is great for parties because it is so spacious and there is plenty of parking. There is parking all around the park, when there are games on the field parking is hard to find but if you get there early it's easy to find. Adding bonus: tasty Tuesdays is held here, where food trucks line the park. Great way to spend a Tuesday evening. read more

Down the street, around the golf course, up the hill, to the stop sign and then I just STOP. Huffin & puffin, I convince myself to do it one mo' 'gain. This is a nice clean park. No bums or thugs. I always see boys playing tennis, basketball & baseball here. There's always some little kids birthday party too. I love that they are constantly making improvements to this park & updating the equipment, play areas, & available activities. The grass is lush, and so are the trees. The park expands for acres and acres. The restrooms are typical for public parks - a little bit of the 'eeww gross' factor, but still usable for basic purposes. They've got several different play areas, basketball courts, tennis courts, a softball/baseball fields, a public swimming pool, and some other things currently under construction. I like bringing my kids here, just to let them run & play. So. Much. Space. To. Run. You'll usually see friendly people playing with their kids, walking their dogs, jogging, and partaking in other park type activities. Every once in a while you'll see a shady character or two. That's why I never let my kids go there without me. The L.A. County Sheriff's Department sends a patrol car to drive through the parking lots, but I don't think it's often enough to really see everything that's going on. I guess it's just a deterrent of sorts, or maybe just to make their presence known since county parks are in their jurisdiction. If you go there alone, or towards the evening, I'd recommend at least carrying some kind of protection (mace, taser...something). Don't let the beauty of the park give you a false sense of security. read more

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes to be outside. This park has everything, trees, grass, squirrels, bathrooms, dirt, benches and much much more! I know this may sound a little far fetched but it's true - now, there may be the occasional transient lurking near by but it's just a minor blemish compared to what this park has to offer. Really big clean park! My soccer team comes here to practice weekday nights and its full of people! Great vibes. Kids and adults practicing every sport. Tennis, basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and golf. They have it all. They're people also following the trials running! It's very inspiring to see everyone working out/ practicing All say it again it's super clean even the bathrooms which is great. They have plenty of parking ! I love El Cariso, it's fabulous! A couple years back they redid most of the park. Actually, they're still working on it a bit. The park is pretty damn big and has a lot to offer. They have playgrounds EVERYWHERE, some with workout gear They have AT LEAST 6 tennis courts (some courts can be used to play racquet ball/hand ball) They have 4 softball diamonds and 1 baseball field They have a few basketball courts They have trails that are marked for distance They have a swimming pool They have a golf course (has a restaurant inside) They NOW have a gym, but I am not sure what it is used for yet. They also have a PALETERO MAN! The only downside is it can be a little sketchy when it starts to get dark. I also wouldn't recommend running by yourself on the marked trails because it is a big park and the trails go off into nowhere land sometimes. read more

I enjoyed going to El Cariso park for the first time. If you are a tennis fan there seem to be a lot of tennis courts. Multiple basketball courts, playgrounds, and a large swimming pool among other attractions I will say though I was kind of offended to see numerous people let their dogs defecate on the grass, then just walk away. There is even a little dispenser at the office area SPECIFICALLY for cleaning up after your dog. I like the park so much I expect I will be going there a lot in the near future but I have decided to be just as rude to the people who are leaving dog crap all over by letting them know they are being inconsiderate. read more

This is a dog friendly park, but most important this park caters all demographics, from families with kids to tennis players. The park is huge and although it does not offer a track it has two paved paths that are marked for a mile run or walk around the park or a shorter trek for causal dog walkers or jogging. The park offers it all from baseball fields, tennis courts, swimming pools, basketball courts to mulitple childrens areas. The best being the outdoor fitness section witch is literally an outdoor gym equipment. Seeing older people in the community is having access is amazing, waiting to use it is another story. The park is level so no hills or elevation. There is a public golf course next door. read more

I love this park!! It's huge and super clean. There is so much to do from basketball, soccer, tennis and even football. On Tuesdays nights there is a lot of food trucks parked on Hubbard st, so many different delicious and affordable foods. Apparently if you cry that means you can take someone else's spot even though they were there since 5 am & had extra tables put up you guys are horrible. Literally horrible experience I should've went & cried instead of sending my family to get the spot which they were going back & forth since 5 AM for all so some lady can show up when they were here at the house grabbing more supplies & take over our spot & have you guys side with her even though we had extra tables set up just because she started crying never again read more

Would have given this park a 5 star except they hardly give time for adults to play in the have indoor basketball court. Besides that, every thing else is great. They have all the outdoor sports you could think of, from tennis and racquet ball to swimming and new a newly done football field. By the way, they did coach Mike dirty. This guy dedicated his life to managing el Cariso pool and helping the community for 2 decades only to be let go because of politics. read more

Horrible experience!! They have the stupidest rules never been to a pool where usage of your phone is prohibited.. !! I'll use my phone if I please!! Also may I add I know how to swim I'm an adult for peets sake I don't have to proof to your teenage life guards I know how to do so..in order for me to use the deep side of the pool ! I play baseball in an organized league - Pacific Coast Baseball League. We pay a lot of money to play in this prestigious league. Our league director tends to use the El Cariso baseball field for league games. There was a day where we had a semi-final game scheduled for 9am warm-ups and 10am game time until 1pm. Unfortunately, no one was in the office as scheduled in order to open up our field. We lost this very important playoff game due to being rushed on the field by the umpires (because of time restraints) all because we couldn't get the gate open on time. This isn't the only time NO ONE was in the office. I failed, as a manager of my team, to trust El Cariso Park one more time. I tried to call the office to schedule a rental of the field for my team, so we can have an organized practice. Was anyone in the office, on a Tuesday, in the middle of the day - during normal business hours to pick up my call and handle business, or the opportunity for new revenue? No, no answer at all. I do not recommend El Cariso Park for any serious baseball and/or softball. This park does not care about new business, or the business they have obligated to. Totally unprofessional, and I have no idea why I gave them two stars. read more
