Great little food truck with a nice variety of solid Mexican dishes. Everything we got was pretty good!

WOW! The hype is real!…read more Manager fit us in when our res did not show up! I mean it was packed and she made it happen. Literally why I am writing this review! John behind the bar is you're go to guy! He asked our names and then remembered them throughout the whole night (2hrs on a sat night)! Ordered the Mussels in white sauce-which was light & huge-yum. 12 raw oysters-4 different kinds, loved all 8 options! Had the special-trust the chef or John. We had the crab cakes which were delicious-as expected! The main room or bar is ideal but the covered patio is worth the wait! Oh yeah, and the free fries they brought us-delicious!

I got the clam chowder to start. I was not use to the sourness of the chowder. It was like someone squeezed too much lemon into the chowder. Not a lot of clams either. I would not say that is a New England Calm Chowder. For entrees, we got the Rockfish and fried oyster Po' Boy. The only miss on the Rockfish is the corn. They were not sweet at all so do not match well with the clams. The fried oysters Po' Boy has a generous portion of oyster and fries. The dipping sauce was really good with the fries. Only miss is the pickle onions is really sour. To end the night, we had the key lime pie. It is a good ending to the night. Interestingly, I had sour tasting in all my food.

Where do I even start with the Blue Stone Inn?…read more At first glance, well...you might glance away and keep on driving, because it seems like one of countless little restaurants you might pass as you're zooming down a highway, focused on work, family, vacation, or other concerns. In fact, there's a good chance even I had passed the restaurant on more than one occasion. But don't do that, it's a huge mistake! Because as I discovered recently, every meal you miss at Blue Stone Inn isn't just lost deliciousness, it's an opportunity gone forever to break bread with friends and family in the kind of space that makes you long for a world that no longer exists - familiar, welcoming, old school. The Blue Stone Inn isn't fancy. It's rustic. And please don't read that as a criticism, it isn't. It's definitely nice. I realized I was vibing hard, loving the atmosphere, the people, the vibe. Service was prompt and courteous with the familiar feel you only seem to get in smaller towns these days. And the food - OMG. Most of us started with a salad and the house bacon vinaigrette. And the breadbasket - so, so good, but don't fill up on it! Because all the food is To. Die. For. We then quickly moved on to various steaks. My ribeye was insanely delicious, cooked perfectly, with an excellent baked potato to round out the meal. My dining buddies upgraded to the steak-and-seafood combos, which were apparently also quite good. I skipped dessert - too much bread early on. But the delicate, beautiful, generous slices of cake my friends had ended the meal on a perfect note. Can't recommend Blue Stone Inn enough. Be aware that if you go, it seems there are some homeless cats in the parking lot and around the restaurant. Super friendly, I suggest bringing some treats for them. I had some cat food in the car so they got a little dinner as we were leaving. Enjoy!

So given my experience with the oysters I decided on the soft-shell crab special and boy was I glad I did. The were large and meaty and I enjoyed them very much. My wife had the fried scallops which were perfect. Lightly fried and cooked just right. I had a side beet salad and it was perfect. Could have used a little more vinegar. Only complaint was that it was much too noisy. Couldn't even understand the person across from me it was so load. Really could use some acoustical sound deadening material on the ceiling.

The space itself gives you a family bar feeling. Looks like it would be a great locals spot. They had enough tables for any size groups and it was very clean. For appetizers we had the fried pickles and pork rinds. I'd give the fried pickles a 2/5, they had flavor but lacked crunch. The breading was missing on 80% of the pickle. The pork rinds, FRIEND, those were probably the highlight of my meal. The sizzle and pop, the crunch, flavor...I'm drooling just thinking about them again. I don't think I can ever have them from a bag again. 5/5 Main Coarse we ordered the mac-n-skilled with pulled pork, the kids chicken taco with tots, brisket stuff shells, and brisket Philly cheesesteak with a side of hush puppies. Mac-n-skillet, the meat was a tad bit dry but had a good amount of cheese. Creamy. Only downside was the pork. 3.5/5. The Brisket Philly was cheesy, meat was good, great flavor just a bit too greasy. Hush puppies were good, nothing stood out in particular. 4/5. The kids chicken taco and tots were ok. Not enough cheese and the tortilla was hard, tots were just right. 3.5/5. The brisket stuffed shells were unique, loved the flavor just a bit too much cheese to meat ratio for me personally. The brisket was cooked perfectly. Would order again. 5/5 We were in and out in less than an hour. We were never rushed and the atmosphere was warm. The prices are reasonable as well.

I appreciated the selection of local beers on draft too. Found prices to be very reasonable these days. Next, the sides are out of this world. The green beans and collard greens really compete with the best Grammy homemade ones. Mac and cheese, hush puppies, and chicken tenders were on point. I thought the portion sizes were good for $3 sides. I had the ahí tacos and a side of brisket. lol. I wanted to try the brisket! The tacos has a nice flavor with an excellent sauce but the tuna was unseasoned. The biggest issue is the taco sat in juices from the toppings and became soggy quickly. A little easier on the toppings and it would be a really good dish. The brisket. Man if you hype up your bbq it better be on point. It was not. Crazy crazy dry and not really tender either. I got the flavor they intended with the oak smoke but that was really poorly cooked brisket. If you can find a good main dish everything else is lined up for a great meal. Maybe make a meal of the sides? :)
