We decided to try out this location. We were seated right away during dinner hour which was great! Waitress was friendly and attentive. We already knew what we were getting so the ordering was quick and easy. Standard chips and salsa while you wait. The salsa could be better and a bit more spicy but they do have a spicy version if that's more your taste. We both ordered the carne asada dinner. I don't do the beans so I got a double serving of rice. The portions are decent so always enough to fill you up. Place is big and the noise level is normal. Nothing crazy. We love the other El Carrizo location in town, but this one is closer to us so we have tried it twice. Food is just as good and the service/seating is fast. The location is much smaller and tucked away and far less crowded. If you are looking for a quieter setting I would highly suggest El Carrizo on Macon! Wait staff can be spotty. We have had friendly servers and not so friendly servers on our last visit. Other than that no complaints! Great food! read more

The male waiter is the worst. He automatically assumed I didn't have money for my order. Constantly referred to prices. Then I ordered a drink, and asked for my food to go. I wanted to place the order after I was done with my alcoholic drink, but he made me put it in right then. Then asked for chips and salsa, and he stopped the young lady from bringing it. Stated my food is to go. He then proceeded to open my to go order, and told me to eat the salsa out of my bag. He refused to sell me salsa for there. He then brought the receipt, slammed it on the table, then told me he would call the police, as if I told him I wasn't paying. We began both insulting each other at that point. He refused to let me speak to a manager. Instead he got all the other workers together, and they stood in a huddle watching me. Because he was forcing me to leave, I asked for a to go cup for my drink. Noooowww the manager comes and say I can't have a cup. So I told him I wasn't leaving until I finished my drink. He was confused, so I explained the situation. Clearly the waiter never did. The manager apologized, then proceeded to send me chips and salsa. By this point, idk what they did to it in the back, so I left it on the table, paid for my food, and left. I get home, and everything I asked him to leave off my order was on my order. Chimichanga was very soggy and not good. I don't recommend anyone comes here. Ever! Very dim...the male waiter with box shaped head is prejudice, and the food isn't good. read more

My all time favorite place to drop in for Mexican food when I am home. They are located up Macon road in the shopping plaza near dollar general. Plenty of parking & it's a big size restaurant. I love everything I have tried on their menu from the nachos to the quesadillas. Their salsa is awesome. Not a lot of places get the salsa right. And the tequila flows generously. I went for lunch on a Saturday and they have specials on their margaritas. Most places only have drink specials Monday through Thursday. So this is another plus. We came on a Wednesday and they have a little deal on margs! I got 3 for $15... and they were properly made (strong). We had a good time! I got the "Texas" styled margarita which has a couple different alcohols & is a little stronger. The "small" is actually huge. They bring out chips and salsa, but we asked for queso and it was good! I ordered the burrito and enchilada dinner that came with rice and beans. It was about $10. I got beef, but I should've tried chicken. The beef wasn't what I thought. I was expecting shredded beef, but instead it was more like ground beef that tasted kinda cheap? But I mean, for $10 it was pretty good. I love the food here. It is very reasonably priced and the margaritas are great. My only issue with this location is one specific waitress, an older woman who always has an attitude. She doesn't seem to like waiting us, I'm not sure if she doesn't like our race or fat people but it is very uncomfortable when she waits on us. We would dine here more often but I usually choose a different restaurant when we want Mexican. We just don't want to come here and chance getting her as our waitress. read more

I have never had a bad experience here so I am happy to give them 5 stars. I love the Taco Salad and the #54 Chicken Chimichanga. I also recommend the Beef and Cheese Dip. My daughter loves the #60 Chile Poblano & Taco. My best friend always gets the Fajitas (Chicken, Steak or Corrizo which has both steak, chicken and adds shrimp) and my husband loves the spicey #32 Bistec a la Mexicano (Diced steak with onions and Jalapenos). My daughter, a Mexican food aficionado, is really impressed with their refried beans. She says the beans have an excellent flavor and better than many other Mexican restaurants in Columbus. Prices are great unless you have add-ons. That really jacks the price up and is NOT worth the additional cost. The staff is very nice and don't mind bringing the food out to my vehicle during these pandemic times. I really appreciate that. The portion sizes are always larger if you eat inside the restaurant than take-out. But I'm sure that's because of the size of the serving boxes. I'm no expert in Mexican food but I know a taco when I see one and this place missed the mark. My husband ordered the enchilada and taco plate. The plate consisted of a large tortilla and a small tortilla filled with plain roast beef. I guess the big tortilla was the enchilada and the smaller one was the taco? Both were doused in queso. I gave two stars since my chimichanga wasn't half bad but I had to share it with my husband bc the soggy tortillas filled with bland roast beef just weren't cutting it.
