The chef put the right amount of mayo and a slice of raw onion under the top bun making it less dry. Side note, I noticed they no longer have pepper shakers on the tables. Previously, I was able to salt and pepper my fries. Only salt shakers are available now. Good job my friends at Honduras Kitchen.

Nice presentation of both items. Started with the Churrasco - good flavor throughout. As for the plantains, they were ok. I think they could've been cooked just a bit longer as some pieces were still a tad on the firm side. Read reviews that noted the Tripe Soup as a must, and I must say this was my fave. Never had it this way before - soup on the creamy side. That broth was so savory and yummy. Love the veggies in it and there were some bones with that meat and cartilage on it. So good. Only complaint was that I didn't have a whole lot of tripe pieces - would've liked more of the tripe. Would definitely have the tripe soup again and look forward to trying other items on the menu.

The staff is friendly and they have amazing authentic Honduran food, we got the pollo catracho and carne guisada and it was bombbb! Only downside is we had to wait around 40 mins even though it wasn't busy. But I'd for sure come again! Definitely recommend this place!

It has become an authentic Honduran restaurant and now it looks like it belongs in the neighborhood. Is that culinary profiling? Yeah, probably... But there was a constant stream of customers through the door, which is more than I can say about the two times I patronized Golden State. 'Know your market' is what I say. Now my familiarity with Honduran cuisine is limited. I believe it consists of hearty bowls of the menudo-like mondongo soup at El Paisa and Mi Yucatán further up Mission. I forgot about asking whether they had mondongo or not, so I ordered the $17 Camarones Fritos (Fried Shrimp) off the menu where many of the plates appeared near-identical. It was a pretty standard lunch plate - stir-fried unshelled shrimp with peppers, fried plantain slices, rice, refried beans, and salad (photo: https://bit.ly/3j3KEgn). Kinda oily for my taste, especially the plantains. Ay caramba. I saw high reviews and decided to give this place a try. We found street parking close to the restaurant. As we entered the restaurant, it was definitely a mom and pop shop. It was small but very inviting. We were greeted by the owner and she was very nice and sweet. She told us we can dit anywhere. My wife ordered the cheese and jalapeño pupusa and cheese and chicken pupusa. She also ordered the chicken tamale. The owner brought out complimentary chip and salsa while she made the pupusas. The pupusas were fresh and tasted very good. It had good amount of fillings. The chicken tamale was also good. I forgot to take a picture when it came out and by the time I remembered, my wife almost killed it. There was a good amount of chicken and it was tender. There were some other fillings inside. I think there was potato and some type of bean or nut. Since my wife liked the food so much, I decided to order 4 tamales and 4 pupusas to go for my parents to try. The owner asked us if we wanted the tamales cold or warmed up since we were taking to go and I told her to just warm it up since we will eat it once we get home. My parents never had tamales and when they tried it for the first time, they really liked it. They like how the corn breading is where it was soft and the fillings had good flavor as well. I think my parents will be ordering tamales now. I was glad we were able to try La Paz out. This place is worth a try. The owner was very welcoming and the food was good especially for the price. Parking might be tough depending on the time of day since there are homes around the area and you have to find street parking. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area.

You can tell they keep it clean, well-maintained, and brightly lit. The staff is fantastic; they explain everything with a smile, and you can see them preparing your order as soon as you place it. Despite that, the wait time isn't long. I took pictures of the food almost at the end because I was so focused on enjoying every bite. So I can say their reputation is well-deserved. P.S. If you like spicy food, ask for their habanero sauce. It wasn't as spicy as I expected, but it does add that extra touch of flavor.
