    Went in to have dinner with my family and the so called owner asked us to move to another table they didnt even have a proper table for us to sit just because they want to have it ready "in case a larger family comes on and we ere only 3" the audacity of these people look how my poor daughter ate dinner with a lamp over her head very unsanitary last time i come here and will show the way my daughter sat there to BBB

    I never had Honduran food. So I Googled to see if there is any recommended Latin food and this came up from the research. I visited the place and it hella packed! A lot of people eat here during meal hours. The guy greeted me nicely when I came. Most Hispanics usually assume I'm also Latino but I tell them I speak poquito Español because I'm Filipino. The service is very nice and the food was very delicious. I noticed that in the neighborhood of Excelsior, there are few sketchy looking individuals. There was a customer who was wearing a ski-mask and his pants low. He looks like he was going to rob somebody. LOL! As someone who was born and raised in a third-world country, I'm always wary of my surroundings. Anyway, that didn't stop me from enjoying my delicious food. Good food and friendly staff.

    4.5 STARS The most unphotogenic dishes can be the most damn delicious ones. Tweezied food with flowers and gold flakes have their place but when I want humble, comfort food, gimme me the chow hall looking HK Baked Pork Chop. And gimme, Menudo full of tripe and pata. It's Monday and I had a mad craving for Menudo which is usually a weekend thing so the next closest thing...Mondongo! At first, I was kinda iffy on Honduras Kitchen because there's only 2 reviews. And, supposedly...they've been open for 7 years?! There's SO many mom and pop owned, Central American restaurants in The Mission, Bernal, Excelsior, and Crocker Amazon that doesn't get much love on Yelp which is sad. Honduras Kitchen def needs some love because the Mondongo is BOMB! I was working from home and couldn't get out so I ordered delivery via UberEats. My food arrived piping hot in about 40 minutes. My only feedback is to bag the soup container since there was leakage. F O O D * Regular Baleadas w/ refried beans, sour cream, cheese ($3.50) I didn't get to try it because it was missing from my order. * Cholutecana Baleadas w/ refried beans, sour cream, cheese, scrambled eggs, avocado ($4 each) The first time I tried Baleadas, I fell in love with this Honduran street food. Think, a huge soft breakfast taco made with a thick, handmade flour tortilla. They hella pack their baleadas with mashed beans, eggs, and avocado (a bit underripe) so one is enough for a meal. While good, I prefer the Baleadas at El Honduras in The Mission....their flour tortilla has more of that satisfying chew. * Mondongo: Tripe Soup w/ rice, handmade tortillas ($13): https://bit.ly/3EZ17bM I've tried Mondongo several times and it never quite hit like Menudo for me...until now. The Mondongo was chockfull of tender honeycomb tripe and meltingly soft pig's knuckles. It was too hot to handle but there was lots of collagen-rich goodness on the other side of bone in my pic. The broth was hella good...what makes it a little different than the others I've tried is the nutty creaminess from the coconut milk. There was also two pieces of sweet corn, carrots, and chayote (like a cross between a cucumber and squash). The rice was perfectly cooked, slick and chewy, not mushy. Handmade corn tortillas were thick, chewy, and pliable. Not only was this meal cheap and damn delicious....it lasted me 3.5 meals. Ok, so technically, it's not cheap after the service fees and tip but that's on me and the price of convenience. Overall, I'm glad I gave Honduras Kitchen a try because I've found my fav Mondongo in the city!

    Absolutely recommend this place for authentic Hondurean!!!! Me and my husband come repeatedly for their delicious baleadas, pollo con Tajadas and Tacos dorados !!! Great service too!!!

Sadly I had to settle for Hot and Sour Soup, Wonton soup, Pork Xiao Long Bao 8 Pcs, Chicken Xiao Long Bao 8 Pcs, (8Pcs) Pork Dumpling with Sesame Sauce and Red Chili Oil (6Pcs), Numb & spicy pork Bao, Green Onion Pancake, (Sweet) Red Bean Paste Pockets. We had it family style. The 3 of us shared it all. There was plenty to go around. None of us left hungry. I can't even pick a favorite. Maybe the numb and spicy which wasn't that spicy. It was just so good and flavorful. The soup dumplings were amazing. So much perfect flavor. They held together until the bite. So good. The hot and sour soup was plenty tasty. Not the best I've ever had but certainly among the best. The only thing I will say is that one of my companions can't have seaweed. The wonton soup was amazing but full of seaweed. It wasn't listed on the menu and we have never had seaweed in any other wonton soup so didn't know to ask if it could be left out. That was sad. All she could do was have a tiny spoon of the broth to taste it. The green onion pancake was very good. The red bean paste pockets use the same dough but filled with sweet red bean paste. They were a perfect way to end the meal. Next time I'm in the city I will visit again. Loved it all. It was worth taking the time to visit and eat there.

The wait time was about 45 to more than an hour. The best to line up before it opens. Once you are find a seat, you can order from the touch screen ordering The menu is simple , first you can choose hot or cold soba, and for tenzaru and tenkake set you choose either tempura or kaikage. There is also other lr soba choices. For small bites it has chicken tenders, braised pork, and and mochi for dessert. We ordered tenzaru and tenkske with shrimp kaikage. We also ordered kakesoba, chicken tender and mochi. Both cold and hot soba are unique and yummy. I like soba texture and yhe broth cold and hot are yummy. The kaikage is unique as it is a bit chewy. The chicken tender is ok. Mochi is yummy. Looks like one of the worker is the owner and he was friendly. Overall it was a good lunch. You have to be patient if you want to have a meal here. Even though he was being swarmed, he was very nice to me and taught me how everything worked. Bad: The soba noodles themselves were just okay. They didn't have much flavor, and they didn't taste that great to me. It's also pretty expensive to get just an appetizer and a soba dish. It was over $40. Overall, I'm glad I came and tried out this super unique and special place in SF. I had a day off, so it was worth the wait. If I weren't coming on a day off, it would be harder to justify the wait.

There is a dependable place in San Francisco which has been making good flavored ramen in the home of the rising sun Japan since 1885. This location is the first US location and it's been on Buchanan street in San Francisco for a decade and it's called Hinodeya. On a Japantown stroll I landed at Hinodeya. This location has indoor and outside seating. Hinodeya does not offer any sushi, poke, or sashimi and it's strictly focused on ramen. I chose to have my ramen inside just in case some birdies drop something on my ramen from the sky. The menu has lots of ramen choices like their classic Dashi ramen and also their Tokyo Duck ramen. I decided to stick my regular order of the Umami Tonkatsu Dashi ramen with a pork cutlet , shittake, egg, and corn. The noodles were soft and had a descent pull to them and they were slurpable. The broth was tasty and not too salty like some in SF. Overall a consistent place serving you traditional ramen that started in 1885 from the land of the rising sun. I ordered the Lion's Mane Mushroom. *A lovely note for the vegans and lactose-intolerant: there is a dairy-free option for the Thai iced tea (made with coconut milk). Given that this was a Michelin guide restaurant, we had certain expectations of the place and sadly we were disappointed. While the service was friendly and the server knowledgeable on the menu, the service itself was severely lacking in detail you'd expect from a $$$$ type of place. Our drinks came out first, followed by the appetizer, then came EVERYTHING ELSE all at once. Papaya Salad Daikon Soup Trio of rice (purple, brown, white) Curry + protein (duck for my friend, lion's mane mushroom for me) We tried to tackle the soup first. It came in an artsy looking bowl with undulated/rouged edges that was awkward to drink from but equally awkward to spoon the soup from. The daikon was VERY WOODY. Both my friend and I awkwardly spit out splintery fibers and left them on our plate. Some of my daikon chunks were fine but my poor friend had double the amount of woody mass collecting on her plate which was really unsightly, especially when you're supposed to be at a nice place. I can't say I've ever encountered this with daikon before at a restaurant. It's pretty easy to see which parts of the daikon are too mature to use. Next we tried to get on to our entree as that was cooling quickly. Unfortunately the curries were already somewhat congealed by the time we made our way to it. The vegan one was pretty good, but again, I had some woody bits in my food. I don't know if that's from the mushroom or if it was from another ingredient but the splintery clumps amassing on the side of our plates was not what we had imagined we'd be doing at a Michelin guide restaurant.... My friend's duck wasn't much better. She complained about the awkward texture and wound up spitting out half of that one her plate. -not to mention, her meal was served to her without a steak knife. After waiting for much too long, she got up to go request a knife and walked the knife back to the table like a psycho. I'm not trying to sound entitled here, but when a restaurant is supposed to be "nice" and has "$$$$", you sort of expect a certain caliber of service. Having to go ask for a knife when you ordered a chunk of meat does seem like a miss. For what it's worth, the curries for both of us had a unique blend of flavors. My friend had a penang currty sweetened with lychee. I don't remember what kind of curry mine was, but it was tasty with a kick in the end. Curry to rice ratio was perhaps 1:3. We had to ask for extra curry to accompany the protein and rice to balance everything out. It would have just been so pasty and dry otherwise (you know, since everything was already congealed...) By the time we got around to our papaya salad, it had gone from chilled to room temp. While it was tasty, it wasn't as refreshing as the salad could be. We're not sure why all courses were served at once, or if that's how this specific lunch service goes? The best course of the day was 100% the dessert. Order the vegan dessert! "Mango-sticky rice ice cream". It was a homemade mango ice cream with coconut milk base. It sounds basic but these ingredients were masterfully put together to create something truly unique. Not sure where the rice was in this whole situation, but who cares! This dessert was incredible! Lightly sweet, creamy and freshing. It arrived like a piece of art, like a glossy, glimmering mango sculture. The way that chilled mango puree spilled over, coating the ice cream underneath... It clung on to the ice cream layer just barely coating it for most perfect combination of sweet and creamy. It was unfortunate I got the last one for the day. My friend had the cheesecake which she said was tasty but not mindblowing like my mango ice cream. It also was... not so glorious. In fact, it looked small and flat, like a half used stack of mini post-it notes. All in all, it was a fun experience. The dishes were familiar favorites with a creative twist. For $45, it wasn't bad but I don't know about coming back for the $$$$ dinner experience based on this visit. Maybe we'll be back for the $40-$45 prefixe again in the future.
