Enchiladas de Mole and 2 Huevos Estrellados con plátano frito y frijoles.
    Pauline P.

The service was delightful and my order was exactly what I had in mind when I ordered it. Enchiladas de Mole. Delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It has a wonderful home feel inside with the music, decor, and service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One can tell that the food is prepared with care and pride, it tasted homemade. Most definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area.

    Pure deliciousness

I don't usually write reviews, but Catrachita absolutely deserves one. This is a delicious Yucatecan gem in San Francisco, and honestly one of the best taco experiences I've had in a long time. I ordered the steak tacos and they were hands down the juiciest tacos I can remember -- perfectly seasoned, tender meat, bursting with flavor, with so much going on in every bite that I kept stopping just to appreciate it. Nothing dry, nothing boring, just pure flavor. What really made this place special though was the people. After a horrible experience next door at Lafayette Breakfast and a long, exhausting day in court, Catrachita welcomed me and my daughter with open arms. Arreli was incredibly kind and warm, and that genuine hospitality completely turned my day around. You can feel the care here, not just in the food but in the way they treat you. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small but surprisingly spacious hole-in-the-wall, the kind of place that quietly competes with the best when it comes to tacos and bold flavors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot is proof that you don't need anything fancy to deliver something memorable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I only wish Catrachita was in the same city where I live -- I'd be here all the time. Thank you for the food, the kindness, and the comfort.

4.5 STARS Opening a new resto in the city is crazy. Opening a resto in the 'loin (TL) is even crazier and takes some gigantic balls. And, Catrachita Yucateca did it in the span of one month which is unheard of in the city. Mad props. Opening in early September 2024, Catrachita Yucateca took over Lapats Thai Noodles Bar (closed August 2024). They're open for takeout, delivery, and indoor dining. M E N U Mix of Honduran Cuisine (baleadas, sopa de frijoles, pollo con tajadas, etc.) and Yucatán Cuisine (salbutes, panuchos, cochinita, poc-chuc, etc.). English translations on the menu were a little off. Beer available. F O O D * Baleada Especial w/ fried beans, cheese, egg, avocado, sour cream ($6.99) // 4.5 Stars: https://tinyurl.com/c9spuu4n My goal is to try every baleada in the city (think a large Honduran soft taco) and this is right up there with my favs in The Mission/Outer Mission area. The handmade, griddled flour tortilla was thick, soft and chewy with a nice elasticity. Filled with creamy mashed beans, soft scrambled eggs, sprinkle of queso duro, a sliver of avocado, and creamy crema. Savory and deliciously satisfying. Their housemade habanero-jalapeno hot sauce packed a fiery tangy punch. * Poc-Chuc: Pork soaked in "beer" overnight, black beans, cabbage, and avocado ($18.95) // 4 Stars: https://tinyurl.com/53ab522v A signature dish of Yucatán, poc-choc is citrus marinated grilled pork (I think the english translation was off on the menu). The thin slices of pork was a tad dry but had a good smoky flavor and citrus tang. I really the crispy charred edges. Served with a side of creamy frijoles (black beans), tender rice, mild salsa martajada, slaw, and pickled onions. Three handmade corn tortillas were also included (thick, soft, and chewy). S E R V I C E Awkward start but the chef who brought out my order was very kind and gracious. I was the only diner at the time (weekday lunch) and my order took about 10-15 minutes. A M B I A N C E [[HIGHLIGHT]]Low key with faux plants and TV playing american football. Seating for about 30 people.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] P A R K I N G Metered street parking. Overall, solid Honduran and Yucatán food in the TL, and they're the only place that serves Honduran food in the area. If you're looking for something new to try other than the usual Viet and Thai restos in the TL, give this new business a try!

Best Latin American food I've had in SF -- the pollo frito con tajadas is my go to, I come in to get it every week for lunch. Never is dry, and the sauce they put on it is to die for!

I'm at a loss for words. This food was simply incredible and delectable. It was so good I had to order take out as well. This was truly a 10/10 experience. The service was prompt and friendly, the food was excellent and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance is intimate and cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is a husband and wife owned and operated restaurant and let me tell you they make one hell of a team. Would definitely not pass up the opportunity to come and dine here.

Giving this place some love because they don't have many reviews. I stopped in for lunch while I was in the area for jury duty. Panuchos are one of my favorite dishes so I ordered a panucho with carne asada and a baleada con chorizo because I've never tried baleadas. Both were delicious with a lot of flavor. The hot sauce on the table had quite a kick and was the perfect complement to both dishes. The staff were very friendly and patient while I was trying to figure out what to order. I would definitely go out of my way to go back.

This couple open up a restaurant in the tenderloin that is a mix of Hund, Aaron and Yucateca cuisine. She's from Honduras he's Mexican and the food they make is very homestyle, authentic and Filling. The meats are prepared perfectly with the rice seasonings, and you could still taste the natural flavors of the meat and it's not overpowered by any spices. They have different levels of spices that you could choose from. Please make sure to check before using them there is one that is Hot. Tortillas are made right there and all the breakfast ladders are large portions. Not to mention the meals are also large portions although they appear expensive. It is totally worth it. You'll have leftovers regardless the size of your appetite. I tried the carnitas baleada and it was amazing. So was the chicken panucho

WOW, everything was so freaking delicious that unfortunately the only picture I have to share this trip is the massacre, the aftermath of devouring this delicious food. I will definitely be back and I will make sure to take a picture before I start eating lol

A friend called if I was hungry and grab something. We walked a couple of blocks and we thought we were walking into a Thai place, but, even better a new 20-day-old Mexican Restaurant! Specially Yucatán Restaurant. We tried a little of everything and it was all wonderful. The side of rice was perfect and the tacos were delicious. My friend had the seafood dinner and added the rice because it was so good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was open and welcoming, the music did not overpower the conversation and the waitress was friendly and respectful checked on us but didn't hover.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will go back again. My only request I would love a Margarita! Worth a visit...

    Panuchos de Carne Asada

Amazing food! We came here for the baleadas, which is our favorite Honduran food. We saw the variety of dishes in their menu and decided to try the "Salbut de Cochinita de Pibil (pork)" and the "Panuchos de Carne Asada", which is their version of tacos, and it was truly exquisite! Their flan is a must! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is aesthetic and very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were friendly and the service was prompt. Our visit was a great experience and this will easily be one of our favorite places in San Francisco.

Delicious food prepared by husband and wife co-owners. Everything was delicious - especially the plate of carne asada, camarones & green bananas!, rice & beans & salad with avocado.

It has become an authentic Honduran restaurant and now it looks like it belongs in the neighborhood. Is that culinary profiling? Yeah, probably... But there was a constant stream of customers through the door, which is more than I can say about the two times I patronized Golden State. 'Know your market' is what I say. Now my familiarity with Honduran cuisine is limited. I believe it consists of hearty bowls of the menudo-like mondongo soup at El Paisa and Mi Yucatán further up Mission. I forgot about asking whether they had mondongo or not, so I ordered the $17 Camarones Fritos (Fried Shrimp) off the menu where many of the plates appeared near-identical. It was a pretty standard lunch plate - stir-fried unshelled shrimp with peppers, fried plantain slices, rice, refried beans, and salad (photo: https://bit.ly/3j3KEgn). I saw high reviews and decided to give this place a try. We found street parking close to the restaurant. As we entered the restaurant, it was definitely a mom and pop shop. It was small but very inviting. We were greeted by the owner and she was very nice and sweet. She told us we can dit anywhere. My wife ordered the cheese and jalapeño pupusa and cheese and chicken pupusa. She also ordered the chicken tamale. The owner brought out complimentary chip and salsa while she made the pupusas. The pupusas were fresh and tasted very good. It had good amount of fillings. The chicken tamale was also good. I forgot to take a picture when it came out and by the time I remembered, my wife almost killed it. There was a good amount of chicken and it was tender. There were some other fillings inside. I think there was potato and some type of bean or nut. Since my wife liked the food so much, I decided to order 4 tamales and 4 pupusas to go for my parents to try. The owner asked us if we wanted the tamales cold or warmed up since we were taking to go and I told her to just warm it up since we will eat it once we get home. My parents never had tamales and when they tried it for the first time, they really liked it. They like how the corn breading is where it was soft and the fillings had good flavor as well. I think my parents will be ordering tamales now. I was glad we were able to try La Paz out. This place is worth a try. The owner was very welcoming and the food was good especially for the price. Parking might be tough depending on the time of day since there are homes around the area and you have to find street parking. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area.
