    Breakfast burrito with chorizo.

Visiting my daughter and needed coffee and maybe breakfast within walking distance. Martha's popped up as a 5 minute walk. I was greeted by a lovely woman with a kind smile. Casual friendly neighborhood vibe. After deciding on chorizo breakfast burrito I sat down and sipped my yummy cappuccino. Soon after my chorizo egg and cheese burrito arrived hot, and SAVORY delicious! Well done Martha and friends! Service outstanding!

Second visit and just as great as my first visit! Food tastes great, arrives in a timely manner and well plated. Service has been fantastic both times. This is definitely a hidden gem in theMission! Uno tiene comer aquí!

Now this was the kind of service and food we were hoping for! We went in for breakfast on the third day of vacation and were blown away. We had café oro, perfectly made baleadas full of authentic flavor, French toast out of this world, amazing crepes, and a classic desayuno catracho with the best handmade corn tortillas even my baby couldn't get enough! I could tell everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The decor is also nice. If you're visiting from out of town and looking for authentic Honduran food with warm service, Martha's is a must.

This quiet and unassuming restaurant lets the food do all the talking! The service was great and fast! The food made me feel at home and the price point was great. Definitely coming back again and again and again!

I thoroughly enjoyed this spot! By the 16th St and Mission Bart station, in the heart of the Mission, Martha's serves a no-frills Honduran food experience. I came here with two friends for a post-new year hangover meal. I just wanted eggs and soup so I got the machaca con huevos and menudo. Our meal was served with warm homemade masa tortillas which were super super great with the menudo. Highly recommend if you're looking for ~authentic~ Latin food!

4.5 STARS You know when you walk into a restaurant where you're the only non-native... And, everyone *PAUSES* and *STARES* at you? Love that! Yea, it's kinda awkward, like you have a booger hanging from your nose. But to me, it's a good sign that the food is going to be legit. Walked into Martha's Restaurant to several dudes in back cheering to fútbol on TV then complete *silence* and *stares* when they saw me. Ok, this is promising! Martha's Restaurant has been open for several months now and sad to see they don't have any love on Yelp. They're open for takeout and indoor dining only. No delivery. No outdoor dining. M E N U Mexican and Honduran Cuisine (breakfast, lunch, and dinner): https://tinyurl.com/ye45uxp3. They also have a pastry case of pan dulce (Mexican sweet breads). F O O D * Baleadas Regular ($3.99): https://tinyurl.com/zmewpa2a ***Add avocado (50 cents) So far, I've tried all the Honduran restaurants in the city except Indio Lempira (Crocker-Amazon) and Martha's currently makes my fav baleadas. The fresh handmade flour tortilla was hot, soft, and perfectly chewy. It was lighter than others I've had with a good elasticity. It had a smearing of creamy mashed beans, salty crumbled queso duro, and generous dollops of crema. And, ofc...ripen, buttery avocado makes everything better! There may not been a whole lotta filling but the handmade flour tortilla took centerstage, as it should. Loved it! * Menudo Catracha/Mondongo: Beef Tripe Soup ($18.99): https://tinyurl.com/2h66uffy ***Available everyday. I'm a menudo/mondongo feen and with the wintery cold weather, I had to try their version. It was fine. The soup was hearty with a tomato-ey flavor and packed more heat than the norm so I didn't have to add much jalapeño. The mix of honeycomb and book tripe could have been stewed longer (I prefer meltingly soft tripe). I think there was a miscommunication as I requested "con pata" but no pata (pig's foot) was included. The soup includes a myriad of veggies: potato, yucca, carrot, chayote, corn, and green plantain, along with a side of onions, cilantro, jalapeño, and limes. The highlight were the handmade tortillas. The texture was like a hybrid of corn and flour - it was thick but not too thick, soft, and chewy. You taste the corn but it's not as dense as the usual corn tortillas with a savoryness (lard?). When it comes to tortillas, Martha's makes bomb ones! I know inflation is hitting hard but compared to other Honduran & Mexican restaurants in the city, the pricing was a bit steep for menudo/mondongo; I usually pay $14.99-$16.99. S E R V I C E Super friendly staff and prompt service, My order arrived in about 10 minutes (only customer eating at the time). A M B I A N C E Casual and homey with a Christmas tree set-up and several TVs for watching fútbol. There's about 10-12 tables for dine in. P A R K I N G Very challenging street parking but the Bart station (16th street) is 1/2 block away. Overall, LOVE Martha's baleadas (and tortillas)! I think I ordered wrong with the menudo/mondongo so I'll need to try their Pollo con Tajadas (Honduran chicken w/ green plantains). Hope I can bump them to 5 stars next time!

    Pupusas

The tamales and pupusas weren't it. No flavor at all. You can definitely tell the food was frozen at some point. The horchata was fine but it came in an almost shot glass sized cup for almost $5.

    Undercooked menudo.
    Kristine D.

The service was great. The menudo had great flavor but was not cooked, it could have used another hour and a half of cooking.

The put the authentic D'Olancho chile on the table. Say what???

This is the real deal, guys! Honduran food at its finest. I had a chance to bring two of my best friends to this restaurant. It's been operating for three months, but I can definitely tell that this is it! We started with the juices - horchata had morro seeds in it, it was fragrant and freshly made, as well as the passion fruit juice that one of my friends had. Exquisite! We had the baleadas, of course! Handmade wheat tortillas with the right amount of refried beans, sour cream, cheese and scrambled eggs with chorizo. As if you're in Tela, eating them, and on top of that Martha sells pastelitos! Delicious, with all the right toppings, even pickled onions. Friendly staff, quick serving, high quality and decent prices. Such a highly recommended spot to start trying the authentic Honduran food. I'll come back soon, for sure!

I was looking for a good breakfast burrito and this place met my expectations and beyond. I can easily say this is the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. I got chorizo, and added potatoes, and it was so damn delicious. 11/10 recommend so much. The server was so sweet too and helpful. Thank you so much for everything

I thought it would be similar to like a Hawaiian style latte with macadamia milk, but it was a lot lighter than I thought. It was definitely very nutty, but it also just tasted like water down latte. Honestly not much going on with the drink, but it does taste lighter in general. Crazy have to pay $1.50 more to add on this milk. Overall, its alright. I do like the natural lighting coming into the shop, but nothing too special.

We chose this large city location thanks to easy parking and a convenient stop on our drive. It was a beautiful morning, which was easy to enjoy thanks to the high ceilings, big glass windows, and open main door. The first floor has a central counter to order food and drinks; the glass cabinet has a bunch of rotating pastries from a local bakery. They have restrooms and a merchandise area here too. At the front are counter seats along the front window, and also a horseshoe that looks into the roasting area, which is a great place to smell the beans. There's an upstairs loft that overlooks the cafe below, also with a test kitchen area and offices across to the front. They definitely have a larger business going on, and I can see why it's so popular. We ordered a latte, iced coffee, and various pastries to start our day. Prices were reasonable for the quality. But I have to praise that they do work fast and service is great. Indoor seating will be a tiny wait but is worth because the inside is so lovely, more like a Japanese tea room rather than some cafes that lean towards the clean modern usually all white interior look. We got seated at this cute little tea area almost felt like a sushi bar vibe. I was impressed that I could see that they had different water kettles labeled with appropriate temperatures for brewing their matcha. So I ordered for my date and me: matcha latte, matcha pie, and the cookie trio. Matcha latte was good! Nothing too crazy but still really good, I'm more of a hojicha person nowadays but solid drink and beautiful textured milk. The PIE! This is their best dessert and for good reason. Citrusy, but not terribly sweet, rich yet still has the subtle matcha flavor. I could see potential for a fall forward hojicha version of their pie one day. $10 for a slice but worth to share Cookie trio was a good pick too. My favorite was probably the Kinako oatmeal raisin cookie and I think would pair well with any warm drink. Matcha white chocolate cookie was not too bad, I think it benefited a lot from the bit of sea salt on top. The Hojicha chocolate walnut cookie was my second favorite! I don't see many hojicha desserts happening yet in matcha cafes so this cookie was a delight to have and honestly I've gotta try making my own. So warm but not too dominated by the chocolate. I wanna come back because they've got a matcha chestnut cake I wanna try next, just stellar for the desserts
