I was in Pell city and looking for some good Mexican. My friend recommended this place and it was very delicious. It used to be an old Rexall pharmacy. It's in the heart of downtown Pell city it's very quaint and cute. I started off with a frozen peach margarita which was very delicious. I got the medium, which was a good size. It was pretty strong which was a good thing. We also got the large cheese dip. It was a little on the spicy side, but then again I don't usually eat anything spicy. The chips and salsa were good. I had to put a little sugar in the salsa to make it a little less spicy. Chicken chimichanga with black beans and rice and it was very delicious. The chicken was shredded. The server was very attentive. She made sure that our waters were filled, and that we didn't need anything. This is located right next to thePell city courthouse I would definitely recommend coming here if you haven't been yet. read more

This restaurant has reasonable prices but after more than approximately 8 times eating here either lunch or dinner, we have decided to give it up. Definitely nothing is invested in making the outside even remotely attractive, the food taste, as well as temperature is inconsistent and most of the time has very little taste. Actually the food Taste as if no "love" (care and seasoning) goes into cooking their meats. I picked this place based on all the reviews. I'm traveling in from Colorado and love some good Mexican food. It was a pretty busy Friday night so I sat at the bar as I usually do. I ordered simply, an à la carte chimichanga with shredded beef. It looked simple when it came out, and I didn't expect a cheese sauce , but that sauce was excellent and the shredded beef inside was perfectly cooked. They don't skimp on the meat. If I could critique anything it would be that I would've liked the tortilla a little more crispy, but I am full and happy nonetheless. read more

To avoid being a "karen" I've saved this review for a time when I can counteract it with several positive reviews. I stopped in for lunch with a friend. We each placed our order and asked for a margarita and ice water. Salsa was very hot and delicious, but the waitress did not bring the water. My margarita wasn't mixed well, it was awful, it tasted like something from a can. I took one sip and asked the waitress if I could send it back, it wasn't what I thought. Ok, we all have bad days, and I'm going to assume that this was a rough day for this server, but it wasn't busy, I had one tiny sip of the cocktail, and asked if I could send it back. SHE FLIPPED OUT! The glaring, the actual seething, and then she said "I can pour some of it out and add Sprite or water" I said no, please remove it from our tab, and she was absolutely livid. Still no water. Complete tension. It was awkward. My friend wanted additional ice in her cocktail but decided not to ask since this waitress was visibly peeved. The food came out quickly, the prices were fair, to top everything off I got something other than what I had ordered. This server was so angry I just ate it. It was OK. Never got my water. read more

This location (Pell City) of El Cazador is always very quick and the staff is super friendly. It's pretty standard tex-mex food, but consistent and a great option in the Pell City area (where I work). I'm a little spoiled with the Mexican restaurant options living in Birmingham, but this is certainly a solid choice for basic tex Mex. Lunch prices are unbelievably affordable! There is a small menu posted on each table that has a handful of lunch offerings for only $4-a lunch price that is unheard of! Most of the lunch options on the full menu are $6-$7; great prices! I'm a fan of the chicken soup, a broth-based soup with rice chicken breast topped with pico de gallo and avocado slices, as well as the pollo parilla, a grilled chicken breast covered with cheese sauce, served with rice and beans and guacamole salad. Yum. Their cheese sauce is the bomb. The chips are nice and light and not too greasy. The chili relleno was delicious. The tacos were just ok, needed a bit more seasoning to the meat. We have come to claim this as our "go to" place for Mexican. The food quality is just better than the other Mexican restaurants in the area. The margaritas are the best around - bar none. The normal queso and guacamole dips are good. We generally get good service. There is one waitress that requires a little more reminding and prodding to get what you've asked for. She is easily distracted and will forget your request by the time she gets back to the kitchen. By and large, the experience is generally positive. read more

Good Mexican food, friendly service and extensive selection of Mexican beers. This restaurant is located in downtown, a little off the main highway and the national food chains. It's inside an old drugstore and the drugstore signs are still up. So you might be standing in front of it and not see it. Extensive menu of Mexican dishes. I had the Chili Rellenos and they were the best I've had outside of the Mexican restaurants in Texas. My entrée was served with Mexican rice and black beans. The salsa is nice and spicy.
