OMG I came here for a quick bite and drink. I ordered the steak fajita taco salad which was not good. It was tooo juicy /watery. In others' review I saw a fajita salad that looked amazing so that's what I thought I was ordering, it was not! I was highly disappointed. I had cheese dip that was lukewarm. I requested a small frozen margarita with no salt. The sever brings it out with salt anyways! Ugh. I wiped the salt off. He offered to exchange it but I didn't bother. I generally like Dos Botellas but this visit was successfully unsatisfactory!

I can't believe I had never heard of this place before. It's tucked away in the little shopping center across the street from Lowe's, near Subway. Inside, it's a little quaint, like you'd expect from a typical, Americanized Mexican restaurant. My wife and I came here for lunch one day after she had heard about it. Our food came out very quickly. There weren't many people there to start with, but it filled up quickly. My only criticism was the queso / cheese sauce that was drizzled over my meal was a little more watered down / watery than I like or am used to having at other Mexican restaurants. Overall, a nice place that I definitely wouldn't mind coming back to when the mood hits. Just surprised I had never noticed it before!

Came here for lunch to meet a local friend who highly recommended this place. First of all the larger than usual seating space for a Mexican restaurant. So there was ample seating space! Once seated they immediately came with the customary tortilla chips and Salsa! The salsa seems that it was homemade but I could be wrong. Ordered fish tacos(2 in a lunch plate) and it came hot & cooked well, with rice and black beans. The tacos were delicious at first bite! The extra special Mexican hot sauce made it even better. I highly recommend this place! Looking forward to coming back!

Great prices and quick service. Was looking for some authentic Mexican food, especially enchiladas, before leaving town and this place really hit the spot. The decor was classic and welcoming. Would definitely recommend for lunch or dinner. This place has every dish you can think of!

Great food! Love the fajita salad. Fresh avocados, fajita chicken. This is the best salad!

Fajita salad - Way too much for a single meal and delicious!!

We ate this past Friday night at the new Chelsea, AL location and we're not disappointed in the least. We arrived early (5:20PM) and by the time we finished the place was packed and jumping. The food was delicious and arrived fairly quickly. We had multiple waiters coming by checking on us - drinks stayed filled. Overall, an enjoyable experience in an era when service seems to be declining. Looking forward to many future meals here.

It has quickly become our family's favorite Mexican restaurant in town. Friendly service and great food.

So bad. Worst Mexican food I've ate while living in this state. White washed and bland.

In fact, I'm getting warm feelings right now just thinking about my time here. Their vegan option is a nopal taco (tender, marinated cactus). It's excellent, but what makes it next level is that SALSA BAR with the best salsas I've ever had. It reminds me of taquerias in California. I drowned my taco in all of the sauces. In fact, I could probably be happy eating tortillas and salsa here. Because, yes, the tortillas are that delicious. As is that guac. Again, some of the best I've ever had, gimmicky tableside guac included (never felt that was such a great thing anyway). Here, you get a generous portion of the creamiest quality guac you can imagine. I can't report on the margaritas other than to say they look gorgeous. The wine pours are also generous and the prosecco is damn good.

Also the guacamole, the cheese dip and the tacos. They do have a full bar and can do frozen drinks. I loved that you can add your own toppings to your tacos. The tacos come with just meat. You can add onions, limes, cilantro and pickled onions and pickled jalapeños as well as sauce. They had a Verde sauce as well as regular salsa, and a Salsa Borachja sauce with onion, garlic and Mexican beer. It was spicy and delicious. They have plenty of counter seating, a few tables inside and several tables outside. This is a tapas bar more than a testaurant.

When we got seated outside by the friendly staff, we were given menus and free chips and salsa. As I nibbled on the chips and salsa which were just okay I browsed the drink menu. There's a full bar here and plenty of options. Over the course of the afternoon I tried the Frida's Rita and the wonderful rabbit. Both drinks weren't in your face with the tequila mezcal, they were mixed nicely and had a well rounded flavor. I much preferred the Woderful rabbit though as it tasted less watered down and the ginger beer paired with the mezcal was almost quenching. Overall if you're looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy Mexican cocktails this is a good spot! We did feel rushed to get out of there, and maybe it was because we weren't ordering food. Overall good experience however.

What we ordered: -Taco Salad (added steak) -Shrimp Tacos -Rumba Bowl (added shredded chicken and substituted white rice for Mexican rice) I can only attest to how the Rumba bowl tasted, but everyone's food came out incredibly fast. The bowl was a decent portion. It wasn't a ton of food, but it was the *right* amount of food- a fair serving that I would've made for myself at home. The bowl was good and my friends liked their dishes too. My overall consensus: Frida's is your typical Mexican restaurant. If I lived in this area I may eat here more often, but it's not necessarily something I'm likely to drive too from the outskirts of Hoover. I can probably get slightly cheaper and similar Mexican food closer to home. I'm happy to have tried it!
