Anything on the menu here is excellent! My husband and I love the crazy dip. It may sound like an appetizer but I promise it's not! Delicious, served with 3 tortillas, but you can always order extra three at a time, served with any and all proteins of your choosing, including chicken, beef, shrimp, steak, and or all of the above absolutely delicious and filling even when my husband and I share this item we have leftovers for the next day! We usually get that to go I don't mind dining in their restaurant, but when I pay for a top shelf, margarita it better be top shelf and it better not be watered down and unfortunately that's happened more than once there other than that no complaints. Best chips and salsa I've found in Alabama. I wish it was available spicier but it's still flavorful. The other things we had were very good and more authentic than I've been able to find locally. I wish the front end staff spoke more English as I tried to walk in and order chips and salsa to go and it was a disaster. Perhaps because it was early and there wasn't much staff to help out. Very large inside so if you want to bring a big party it would work. They have a full bar and bar seating as well. read more

We stopped after a football game at Lincoln High School. Extremely varied menu, not just typical Mexican!!! Lots of seating and roomy booths. We had the Mexican Spaghetti and Poblanos. The Mexican Spaghetti was great, I subbed mushrooms for the chicken, the sauce was very cheesy and thick. I took home as much as I ate, portion sizes are very generous. The Poblanos are filled with cheese, it was a bit much to have 2 per serving, the rice and beans were bland, nothing special. The chips were very thin and crispy, perfect! Salsa was good, not great. Easily a 5-star establishment!!! We dined here twice while visiting the area and each time we were blown away by the amazing service and truly wonderful cuisine. Everything we tried here was great, but the star dish here was the Mexican spaghetti. I don't recall seeing this option on other Mexican restaurant menus but it came highly recommended and once I got the nerve to try it I was blown away! It truly made me regret having to leave this area as I would love to return again just for that dish. But the apps are also great, the cocktails are high quality, and you really can't go wrong with any of their entrees. This is my our second time dining in at Mangos Cantina. I will say the food is always delicious and it comes out fresh and hot in a timely manner, the restaurant itself is huge, very clean, and seems kept up real well. My only concern is the wait staff. It doesn't appear that anyone is very happy to be employed here. Our server seemed like a nice gentleman, but he barely spoke even the bare minimum of words. He only checked on us once, we didn't even get his name or an introduction. In the service industry you need to be built for pleasant social interactions with everybody you meet! As far as our meals this time, my boyfriends steak fajita taco salad was solid. I ordered the seafood taco salad, and to be brutally honest I don't think that fish, imitation crab, as well as grilled shrimp in a tortilla bowl of pico, lettuce, cheese, a giant dollop of sour cream, broccoli, cauliflower, and squash mixed very well. There was just too much going on, and it didn't justify my palate very well. It was cooked well, just not a great combination. We'll most likely be back to try different menu items! read more

The sweet sour mix they use is terrible. It's $20 for a skinny Margarita (which is supposed to contain FRESH squeezed lime juice, fresh squeezed oranges in some cases, a tequila of your choice and a splash of agave). I asked if it was fresh squeezed lime juice before ordering and specifically requested it only to later find out it's a sweet and sour mix (a slightly different one than they use for regular margaritas). The ratios were also terribly off and it tasted terrible. It wasn't even served in a Margarita glass or fishbowl. I expressed that it wasn't right but no one cared. I was not offered a remake, or a discount or even an empathic I'm sorry about that. So I just paid the $ and left. I feel ripped off. Won't be returning. read more

My first time coming to the location and it was much better than I expected... Now when my GPS said I have arrived I was nervous because it didn't look like a Mexican restaurant. It's inside of a plaza. Next to Piggly Wiggly. The outside doesn't do the inside any justice. It is nice and big in the inside of the restaurant. They have very good drink specials. Try the frozen drinks. The seafood quesadilla is the best ever. They have enough meat and veggies inside of it. Omg, it's so flavorful. The side of rice is even good. It's not dry or hard. I don't want to try anything else. I would not recommend getting the quesadilla to go because it will get soggy. I have tried this restaurant multiple times of dine in and carry out. So we have come here and spent hundreds of dollars with our business each month since they opened. BUT the past 2 times we came the order has been WRONG. Management asked me to come (the brothers,,,,louis and andres) and they would refund the money. So I go today and bring more people they REFUSE today to refund the messed up order. The waitress stood there and argued with me and they were taking her side. They never gave the money back. They also messed up our order today.
