I needed a bouquet for my mom's bday the day of (don't judge me) lol and I was only able to pick it up and deliver it during my lunch break. On my way to pick up lunch for my mom, this was the first place I called, went to voicemail, darn it! This looked like the best option between food and my mom's house. So I called again (people are more likely to pick up on the second call, it's gotta be important right?) lol and they picked up! I am so very pleased with the two arrangements that my mom and I ordered for a funeral this week. We wanted the flowers delivered to the funeral home the day before because I think it looks better to have all the flowers displayed before the family and other mourners arrive and it was an early morning viewing (10am). I ordered a Blue & White Sympathy Standing Spray (medium) for $184.99, plus tax. It was GORGEOUS! I wish I had a photo of it because it was worth every penny. I am so happy that I came here. I called this morning at the last minute because I needed a corsage and a boutonniere for a maternity photo shoot today. With chipped paint and an unassuming storefront on San Pablo, it was only the neon "OPEN" sign that reassured me I hadn't come across the wrong place. When I walked in, the selection was modest, but they had exactly what I wanted for a small birthday bouquet. The florist was professional and efficient (if a bit serious), and my bundle came tied with a matching red ribbon to the big red flower I'd picked out. I was offered a free card and card holder as well! Made my life much easier than having to find and write a greeting card in the 10 minutes I had before going to work. In short, they lost my order for a dozen roses... on Valentine's Day. I will never walk into this store again, They do bad business. Or, at least they did with me. I went with El Cerrito Florist because it is by my house and I try to buy local and independent as much as I can. I put in an order on Tuesday, Valentines Day was on Sunday. I spoke with a young woman who seemed a little preoccupied but wrote my order down. I can still see her circle the $40 price on the ticket and put it with other tickets. She told me to pay when I pick them up. Then, on Sunday I went to pick up the roses. There were three staff members there including the girl who sold me the roses. They could not find my bouquet or my order ticket. The young lady acted like she has never seen me. Granted, this is a busy week and there were a lot of people coming in and out. But I have some distinct features that most people would remember me by; namely dreadlocks. They searched for about 10 minutes but came up with nothing. They then suggested I purchase some yellow roses because they were out of red ones. Nothing makes Valentine's Day better than implying you just want to be friends with your girlfriend by buying her yellow roses. Needless to say I was livid. I left and held my cool but kept it in mind to write this review. Loosing someone's roses on Valentine's Day is the cardinal sin of florists. If I ran that business I would have offered a free bouquet or a coupon for a free one instead of insult someone's intelligence of color symbolism. read more

I came by here today to get my boss some tulips (she loves tulips) and while they hadn't restocked, they did have some beautiful purple ones! Because they were older, the owner added in some other gorgeous purple flowers and baby's breath to create a beautiful arrangement and only charged me $20 (with the vase)! I mean can you say amazing service and a great deal?! They do only take checks or cash which I didn't have on me, so the owner took down my name and number and told me to bring the money when I could the next day so I wouldn't be late for work! What it does have is a very sweet husband/wife team who are helpful, resourceful, and very economical. They sat us down with some floral type magazines and catalogues of wedding arrangements and we sifted through while they went about their daily duties.
