I purchased flowers for my mom for her birthday and the flowers were poor quality. by the second day the roses in the bouquet were drooping all of them. I paid a lot for the bouquet they are not a cheap shop and I felt the quality of the flowers were below standard. I was beyond disappointed and I won't be going back to their shop. Ashby flowers is amazing! I was attending a graduation in faraway Michigan and wanted to bring Hawaiian orchid leis to the graduate and to our party. I ordered 6 double stranded orchid leis. Ashby flowers did a fantastic job from start to finish!! I didn't have to worry about a thing, they took care of every detail. They specially packaged them so I could carry them on the airplane, they told me tips to keep the flowers fresh and long lasting since I had a long flight, and what to do to revive the orchids in case they started to wilt. They are very experienced, organized, and know what they are doing. I was nervous about carrying the flowers on an airplane and keeping them fresh, but they put me at ease. They do many of the flower orders for UC Berkeley so that tells you what caliber they are and in what esteem they are held that the University with use them for many of their events. What can I say for Marcy except "AMAZING!" Within a month of pandemic-wedding planning, I still remained on autopilot. One of the last items of my list was the iconic bridal bouquet and wedding party florals in which I had no idea what to look for or what *looks* good. Oddly enough, I was referred to Marcy by another florist based in Oakland/Berkeley area, of LaNana Salon who was a referral from Bancroft Hotel's Catering Manager Kelly McCartney. (Networking is such a lifesaver!) Immediately, I pulled what knowledge I had about what a bride needs for floral order, scanned over reviews of Marcy's previous work and set out to contact her. She was the sweetest, most patient and creative person to speak with. She quickly identified what would best complement my wedding beyond the theme and just my overall preferences. I love minimalism, simple flowers and I loved the colors for my maids of honors's dresses. I think flower leis are part of the graduation rite of passage, and with so many businesses out of business or with unusual hours, I was happy to find out that Ashby Flowers was both open for business and had availability to make a lei for my nephew's graduation. They have a larger selection of leis available than what is online and the prices are also cheaper (since I picked up my lei). I got my nephew a beautiful white lei which will photograph well! The "store" is quite small (pretty much a stand) so they can't allow customers in due to social distancing rules but you're able to see all of the various flowers from outside the store. There are Covid precautions in place with a credit card reader that is not too close to other customers or employees. read more

I order from this shop very frequently. Anything from a pick-me-up to condolences, this shop has me covered. Pricing and selections? Honestly, I don't really notice much differences between shops. Quality? Their quality is pretty solid, I haven't had much of any issues. They try to stick with what you see online as close as possible. If not, they'll substitute it with something that looks just as good. They sure deliver on the quality. Speaking of delivery, they deliver. And quite reliably too. I've put instructions on who the person was and where she'll be and even special request to deliver before a certain time. They alway land their mark.
