May not look like much from the outside but don't be fooled, this place is da bomb. They have my favorite burritos in the area. Very authentic Mexican food with plenty of options on the menu to customize your meal. Their cheesecake is my favorite cheesecake!! Their flan is pretty dang good too. Also went there for breakfast and their breakfast burrito is a real winner as well. The pancakes were good but not the best I've had and if you order a breakfast burrito with beans it's a bit sloppy but still delicious. First time eating here and it will be the last. It was easily the single worst Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered the Oaxaca mole chicken with flour tortillas. The mole was ok. The chicken was too tough to eat. Seriously. Two thighs and I swear, it wasn't edible. Tougher than any chicken ever in my life. The flour tortillas had been microwaved and were almost as tough as the chicken. Then there was the music. My god. Hip hop Mexican played loudly for the apparent benefit of the teenager cooking. Guys chatted whole time in back about what the fuck ever but ignored me for 10 plus minutes. Small quaint little Mexican spot but you better have time to spend. We were sat right away but everything else took forever. It was really good -- we didn't LOVE it but it was really good! We eat so much Mexican food that we might have certain flavors we are looking for. The meats were spectacular, but the rice and beans needed a bit more texture/depth for our liking. I think that the chips are really nice and thick and crunchy! Salsas delicious! And the thin crispy taco shell was a nice a break! Don't need a thick shell all the time or a greasy one -- this one was clean and thin and crisp! Really delicious. The carnitas plate was excellent and showed a sophistication in the cooking. Tortillas were delicious. My people liked the chicken enchiladas with green sauce. Solid choice! This is not authentic Mexican. We ordered carne asada, shredded chicken, al pastor, and quesadillas. The carne asada has poor quality meat and bland. Shredded chicken tacos are okay but has way too many tomato chunks. Al pastor has no pineapple pieces. All the tacos were soggy and their salsa are not tasty. read more

Quick, fairly priced, and I love that I can walk my dog over and order from the window on the side of the building. I am not a usual here but my toddler and I were hungry and stopped by as we were in the area. I ordered the basic chorizo with eggs and a side of beans. Beans were fine but the chorizo and eggs had a bad bitter taste, possibly spoiled. I had a few bites and my gut just said to not eat it. I informed the male waiter and he asked if I wanted something else, I said no. I overheard him asking the waiter that took my order if I paid and she said yes. I was expected to get my $ back and they did not even offer that to me. As I was walking up and gathering my toddler to leave I was not acknowledged. I called and asked for a refund as soon as I had left and gotten in my car and asked if i could please have a refund. The lady waiter said no that they do not do refunds only and "exchange" in food! I said I don't want anything else I had an unpleasant experience and no longer want food, she said owners aren't around and do not have a scheduled day/time that they go into the restaurant. What a disappointment! After reading positive reviews on Nextdoor, my husband and I decided to try this 'neighborhood favorite.' The staff was friendly, restaurant looked inviting, but the food was terrible! My husband ordered the chicken mole meal. The mole (sauce) was ok, but the chicken was so over cooked and tough it was inedible. The two flour tortillas that came with the meal were gummy and tough, as if they'd been warmed in a microwave. I ordered a burrito--seemed like a safe choice since I noticed the brisk take-out lunch orders seemed to be predominately burritos. The filling wasn't bad, but nothing special. However, the flour tortilla wrapper was gummy, chewy and tough just like the tortillas served with my husband's meal. It came wrapped in foil (why?) on a plate. I hope someone will train the cook in back how to properly warm flour tortillas and to not let the chicken cook for hours until it's shoe-leather tough. Over and over again I have tried to give this place chance after chance after chance because every so often I would have a tasty meal from here. Today my husband and I have declared we will never be returning. After ordering two super burritos with Carnitas and heading to a local park to sit and enjoy we discovered the Carnitas to literally be the consistency of canned tuna mushy and gross. This place isn't cheap and I just can't keep rolling the dice. They have really delicious breakfast burritos. I've had the breakfast burrito with bacon which I got to go. The jamaica juice is also delicious. There's a nice area in the back with outdoor tables with umbrellas. The food came with two different salsas in little containers. The breakfast burritos come with beans inside for anyone who might not be familiar. The food was hot and i would definitely recommend this place. I've also had the vegetarian burrito dining indoor. They serve chips and salsa (the salsa is delicious but it does have some heat). I would recommend maybe getting a side of sour cream for those who don't like spicy. Have only ordered takeout from here, but is a solid choice and much better than the other somewhat similarly named chain fast food restaurant. It's hard being vegan and trusting ordering from places that also serve meat. Sometimes I still wonder if what I order is actually 100% vegan but I try to trust what I've been told. Love just keeping it simple and getting the 100% veggie plate or burrito. Also like that there's options for quinoa instead of rice! Sometimes the veggies aren't cooked quite as well as I like, more mushy than fajita style.... But overall I'd rather support a local business and feel like I'm eating a healthy meal. The food was horrible! First I ordered a pork tamale plate and instead they gave us chicken enchiladas. The second dish I ordered was the fajitas and there was so much liquid in the dish everything was soggy. The beef were strings of beef-not slices and the shrimp were so over done that they were like chewing leather. Where can I even begin about the guacamole? It was puréed avocado mixed with some type of extender with chunks of onions that had no flavor at all. The rice had an odd taste but definitely not Spanish/Mexican rice. This is probably the best taqueria I have ever been to! First, let's start at the very beginning. They don't serve liquid salsa and chips - they serve an excellent pico de gallo with tomatoes, hot onions, cilantro, and jalapenos. Next, the menu is very extensive with something for everyone, and they even have nopales! You can get nopales in various forms, including as a platter, and I had it in a burrito. This wasn't just someone opening up a bottle of prepared cactus in brine - I think they were prepared fresh and they were grilled and seasoned and excellent tasting. They had both red and green sauce for burritos (or enchiladas, etc) and I made sure to sample both. The red and green were done in the Mexican (not New Mexican) style, which is appropriate given that this is a Mexican place. Both were great, with the red ranchera style sauce having just the right amount of earthy bitterness. Another mark of quality was the calabacitas (they don't call it that - they call it 'spring vegetables' or something like that). Often times places just give you a bunch of onions with a few sad mushrooms but El Chipotle went all out with lots of zucchini, bell peppers, etc, all prepared excellently and served in a huge portion. Everything we had was excellent, and they are very tolerant of kids. Lastly, I have to mention that the margaritas, while certainly not the best margaritas out there, might be the best margaritas you can get in California for under $10. read more

The food was excellent and we cleaned our plates. Our food was hot and when they ask me about my corn tortillas, usually I like to have them well done & for the 1st time it was done perfectly. I had the Carne Asada plate and my husband had the combo of A Chicken enchilada and Chile Relleno and a carnitas Taco. The chips & salsa is great. Homemade chips & salsa had a nice kick. The place was very clean. The bathroom was clean as well as the outside. The service was great. Very attentive & friendly. We will definitely come back & eat here when in the area. read more

Wow, this place is incredible. I found myself craving a bean and cheese burrito on my way to pick up my Christmas tree (naturally) I typed in burritos on maps and boom here I am. This burrito slapped you guys. Refried beans, lettuce, rice, guacamole, salsa, pico, and a wheat tortilla. I 86'd the sour cream cuz that's not my jam, but it does come w it usually. Yo all the flavors were ON POINT! The rice and beans were perfect and cooked so right, and the salsa had the perfect amount of kick for me. A couple droplets of sweat were emerging to wish me a merry Christmas and thank me for the burrito were all now enjoying. If you're sensitive to heat, get that salsa on the side and gauge it first, no need to take away from this amazing burrito experience trying to be a hero. It was around 8 or 9 bucks for this incredible rito plus a generous portion of chips and salsa which I really appreciate. It's just the classy move.
