Complimentary OK chips with red (sweet) and green (spicy) salsas. I had the pastor crisp taco platter and my SO had the steak soft taco version. The flavors were OK, but nothing on our plates was hot. The beans were slightly warm but everything else was just above room temperature. Despite having more than adequate staff with less than a dozen customers there, the service was lackadaisical and unenthusiastic, not a single smile. I had to get up from the table to request our bill and again to give the waiter the bill and payment. Both times the waiter was leaning against a counter with his back toward the customers and chatting with other staff. All in all, a depressing experience that I'm unlikely to repeat with other options within a block. read more

One word=Disgusting! Two words=Stay Away! Three words=Avoid this place! On 03 Oct for National Taco Day, the wife and I came here with our 2 year old daughter. My wife was craving a margarita and this was a place we've been looking forward to trying. When we got to the restaurant at 6:25 we were seated. At 6:30 our waitress came to the table to introduce herself and bring menus. At 7pm (30mins later) she came back to bring us two glasses of water. We then took the initiative to place our order at that time. After all we had looked at the menu for 30 mins already. We ordered Tacos and margaritas. We wanted Margaritas on the rocks. Unfortunately, the waitress told us that they do not make margaritas on the rocks. According to her, they only have frozen margaritas. 30 mins later at 7:30 the margaritas finally arrived. My margarita tasted like S***. It tasted like the bartender over poured one too many shots of cheap alcohol in it. My wife's margarita had the opposite problem. Her margarita did not have ANY, ZERO, NADA alcohol. 15 mins later when the tacos arrived at 7:45 (yes, tacos regular tacos, nothing special. 1 hr 20mins after we arrived) we informed the waitress that her margarita did not have any alcohol. She said, it does I know it does. She got defensive. I asked her to taste the drink. She then grabbed the margarita and almost tasted the margarita. She then realized that she was about to take a sip, and put the drink down on a wrinkled napkin that we had used (see pic). She then said, I can tell the "guy" to put another shot in there. So yep, customer service and profesionalismo is def not their strong point. Lastly, if things couldn't get worse, when we finally received our tacos, they were cold. At least the waitress apologize for bringing the tacos late. Honestly, I would NOT recommend this place to NO ONE not even my worst enemy. TACO BELL, is a far better choice for "mexican" and I never eat Taco Bell. Another option is to walk to the taquerias nearby. read more

I ordered a torta de milanesa de pollo and received a milanesa de rez. I ordered it through the phone and the big guy with glasses told me I was wrong and that I ordered what I received. He was very angry and rude when I told him. He got even more annoyed because he had to offer me the correct food. I saw him roll his eyes when he took my food back. That dude is very unprofessional for someone who's in charge. I'm only writing this review because it's happened multiple times to me and my family and it's always that same guy. read more

I ordered a margarita, and it barley had any tequila; I could taste just a hint of it. It was literally a mango smoothie. The food was mediocre- not very flavorful. Also, the atmosphere is not the best (no music). I would definitely not come back. read more

I wanted to give this place 5 stars, I now want to give it 1 star but it will get the two stars since the tacos were amazing, but thats where the "good" stops. 1.) We got there, their was a hawks game going on in so the bar was loud, we asked to sit in the dining area they said no.. it was being cleaned at 8:45 PM and half the tables were still full. 2.) The bar area was extremely loud. I know you have a bar but you are not a bar, if you dont let customers sit in the restaurant then dont keep the bar stupidly loud 3.) Remember you only get one bucket of chips free. 4.) We went on $1.00 taco night, which is now $1.5 which I totally understand but here is the kick.. 6 meat tacos are 1.5 but if you get a meat taco without meat its 2.75 (regular price) which doesnt make sense but I guess their place their rules!!, I wish the waiter told us when we ordered the taco special, finally flagged down the owner when the bill came he let me know that the veggie tacos are not on special and he agrees the waiter should have told me , didnt offer to make it right or anything just a "well he should have told you that it wasnt on sale" 5.) Margeritas. So today is margarita special 1/2 off, so they are still 5.50 a marg, well if your margs are $11.00 full price they should be fresh, these tasted like concentrate and bad tequila, atleast the on the rocks ones had a taste, my wife and my frozen ones had bad liqour taste which you could barely taste. 6.) I can forgive certain things, but the lack of service especially from the owner is absolutely crap. Where do I start... Staff - not very friendly I felt as though I was a bother being there our waitress made us feel rushed to order so she could continue chatting with her friend. I'm pretty positive our food sat for a few because is was just warm not hot, I'm sure it was due to her walking her friend outside so she could chat a little longer. Food - Expensive for the portions, beans seem as of it came out of a can, rice was okay, carna asada was meh thank goodness for the salsa. Ohh if your looking to get a 2nd basket of chip you will be paying for it. Drinks - Non alcoholic beverages 2.25 each and yes you will be paying for refills. All in all very bad experience. I currently work at a 4.5 star rated mexican restaurant, and every time that i've dined at CoCo Loco i've left extremely disappointed. I've never felt so unwanted before in my life. I was here for a business meeting, and the one thing I'll remember is this: their chimichanga looked as big as a football. Between the business chatter and everything else going on, it took me a long time to get over the the sheer size of the thing. I ordered one of these, with chicken. And the food wasn't bad; not the best I'd had, but I eked out three lunches from my order -- not bad for $12. The order came with refried beans (great!), I believe a rice pilaf which wasn't altogether exciting, and some vegetables to offer the semblance of something healthy. I also had a kick-butt horchata to go with the chimichanga; definitely recommended! The chimichanga itself was dense (in a good way) and a bit spicy. It improves with time, like most Mexican food does. I'm glad I got it. I've heard nice things about the buffet but cannot vouch for it. read more

I am so so glad I decided to give this place another shot! I have been a couple times in the last few months since I moved back to the area, and I feel there has been a definite shift in the right direction!! Food and service have both improved greatly. Love the low key environment. Bf and I like to come here every now and then for a casual date night. I have never been for lunch, but I see they have a buffet set up and would be interested in how that goes. Love all their options for a la carte tacos. Love that this is just good and simple food. They have some fun margarita flavors, but I will say the margs are a little weak. I also appreciate that they are child friendly. Recently, I was here with my sister and her 2 year old who had a mini meltdown. Very disappointing! My friend and I ordered steaks and margaritas (that were wrong btw) and then when 2 of our friends called us to say they were coming, we asked for more chips and they said that they have to charge us. First, we aren't here to get a free basket of chips, second, we ordered steaks and margaritas I think that shows that, third, no Mexican place I know of charges for chips, and last, we have been going there for years! My apartment complex hosted their food truck, today, Thursday. When I approached their table to buy tickets, a female asked me where I lived. Twice, I gave her my address. Each time she pretended not to understand. She squinted and said that I was going to have to help her. I was born in this country and know I speak clearly and fluently. If I could give this a zero I would. We called an order in and they gave us 6 wrong tacos. We called and told them we wanted pastor and they had given us chorizo. They told us to return the food to make sure we didn't lie or eat it trying to get free food. Never have I ever heard of this. Not only did you fuck up my order but now you want me to take it back so you can make sure I'm not lying. Horrible costumer service. When we were here (even though it was dinner time) the restaurant was empty except for us and the table next to us. Well the best part of the meal was the 3 tamale appetizer we ordered. We weren't greeted right away, the wait staff was slow and the MARGARITA WASN'T COLD! My husbands tacos were made incorrectly and when she said she would fix them she meant I'll reuse the shells and meat and scrap the cilantro off and put lettuce on and pretend it's better.
