I recently moved to West Chicago and I discovered this place soon after. I've tried the steak tacos, quesadilla (chicken, steak), and picadillo rojas gordita. Everything has been tasty, but the steak tacos have become my favorite item (after the cucumber lime agua fresca which is SO addictive!!) Before coming here, I would typically go for ground beef tacos - usually because I have to work so hard to eat steak tacos. Not so at Liselena. The steak is cut up really small and cooked just right, and this is now my go-to order - especially on Wednesday when they're just $1 each! (Question for the class: did they just start making the tacos smaller on dollar day or was that my imagination?) Anyway, I can't end without mentioning how friendly and efficient the staff are. This is tucked around the corner from Coco Loco but for that reason it's the perfect place for a private event--I recently hosted one for 50 people and it was outstanding. Everyone had a seat at a table--drink orders for unlimited waters (tamarind, mango, horchata etc.) were taken individually at the table and the food was served buffet style. The staff worked easily within our budget--no minimum spend and no room rental. We were even able to show a video by casting from a phone to their TV. We ate here last night and the food was excellent. We tried the steak and pastor tacos along with a couple of the gordita flavors--everything was fresh and delicious. The restaurant was very clean, and the service was on point. We'll definitely be going back to try more gorditas. They're all made to order, not pre-made like at some other places, and you can really taste the difference. read more

it's april 26 at 5:15pm there is only 4 tables not including mine the waitress is not knowing the menu at all she was taking my family's order and left to hwlo some one who came in i understand she has to do that but we would've like her to tell us give me one sec or so and then the food was cold as well like i sa sit wasn't even busy at all the 2nd waitress was more nice and friendly read more

The food was authentic and delicious. The service was good and prices are reasonable. They had a lot of options of Gordita's and natural juices. We had steak tacos, gorditas- chicharrón/red sauce, rajas/steak, quesadilla and potatoes with cheese. The restaurant had nice decor. read more

Restaurant that has amazing gorditas with an extensive menu of fill in options for the gorditas. Gorditas Liselena also had 4-5 agua fresca options, tried the mango it was delicious. Limited menu with burritos, tacos and gorditas but with the fill in options you have endless options. read more

A must try Mexican restaurant in West Chicago! It's so hard to find authentic Mexican restaurants in the suburbs and most are subpar but Gorditas Liselena is absolutely AMAZING! Their gorditas are packed with flavor and are the perfect size allowing you to order a variety of different entrees to taste. A coworker was eating lunch and I commented on how good it looked and she told me about Gorditas Liselena, and I knew I had to have them! So, my husband picked up some gorditas for us for lunch. This place is great!! I got a mango juice and a asada con queso gordita. The gordita is made to order so it's fresh and tastes amazing. The juice tastes like they took a mango and just squeezed it, so fresh. Can't wait to go back and try more. They also have an adorable patio! CASH ONLY! read more

Just tried this place and let me tell you it will not disappoint:) I had 3 gorditas all made to order I had frijoles con queso , asado con queso, and the Chicharron en salsa verde to drink I had the pepino con limon it was so refreshing. Service was quick the place was very clean. I will definitely be back to try other items on their menu. read more
