This restaurant was an unexpected pleasure on a road trip. It offers more than your run-of-the-mill Mexican food. For example, an excellent shrimp Sinaloa with spinach, mushrooms and tomatillo sauce, and enchiladas with Pasilla chile sauce. Service was prompt and friendly. It's a fast food type atmosphere but the food is top notch quality. We enjoyed it very much. I had their chili relleno and a chicken enchilada. Very good taco crispy as well. Their queso was a little runny. Our waitress really was inexperienced. She did not know the menu or what some of the items even were. Honestly very impressed with my experience here. We are on a road trip from pa and stopped here after finding them on Yelp. So happy we did! I had a burrito and my boyfriend had shrimp fajitas. Both were large portions for the price and very delicious! I also had a peach margarita which was yummy! Highly recommend going here if you are in the area. Very disappointed! It was expensive for what we got. If it had been good, the price would have been ok but it wasn't. The Serrano peppers were way too hot and we love heat. No flavor, just hot. I am going to level with you fellow travelers, Mitchell, SD is a bit of a $hit town. You are coming for the lack-luster Corn Palace on your way to the Badlands and somehow wind up here. This place is your saving grace; the one true gem of of the city. If your GPS doesn't take you here, do not fret wise vagabond: just plug in directions to Menards and voila you are across the street from the best eatery in town. (Disclaimer, this is all alleged. We have not actually ate at EVERY establishment in Corn Village, nor would we want to.) Based on reviews, Corona Village seemed to stand out as decent Mexican fare. We were skeptical, yet famished. To our surprise, it was actually quite good. The building is new, clean, and the swings are an odd plus. As vegetarians, we were happy to see the menu was both vast and accommodating. We ordered the veggie tamales (recommended no matter what diet you adhere to) and a poblano quesadilla. Yum!! The service was very friendly. Somewhere between a sit-down and quick-dine, it was a little confusing at first. Take our pro-tip and have a seat. Someone will great you with menus and delicious chips and salsa. The one regret was their marg, indeed strong but not my fav. Not going to fault them there, this the kind of place you hit up for the chow. I should have known better. Not sure why this place gets rave reviews. We came for late lunch on a weekday and it was deserted. They have a huge and very inexpensive menu consistent with area prices, with a wide variety of dishes you might not see elsewhere. But the service was poor - our server barely acknowledged our presence and slammed our plates down. She ignored us when we tried to get her attention. The food was also below average. We got 4 different types of burritos and steak fajitas, and everything was overcooked, dry, salty, and lacking in flavor (besides the salt). There were no vegetables on our plates, which was disappointing. I don't recommend this place, there are better places. I would not come back again. read more

We were so happy to find this place on our drive home from Badlands. Excellent food and service! Portions were large enough that we got dinner the next night out of it as well. My husband got the beef fajitas and said he had not had such good ones outside of Texas before. I tried a combo plate of tacos and a chile relleno. Everything was delicious. Our 8 month old endorses the beans and chicken taco - she ate quite a bit of them very happily Next time we're in Mitchell we will definitely be stopping here and in the meantime we're telling anyone we know traveling that direction to stop in on our behalf. read more

Don't let the ex-fast-food-restaurant appearance fool you! This place is the real deal. Serving real Mexican food with quick attentive service. My wife and I shared a molcajete, one of the best we've had. Spicy, flavorful, and the chef brought us extra tortillas when we ran out. The went in after lunch time so we were on the backend of the lunch rush. The chips and salsa were kind of funny, the salsa bowls were like 3 creamer put together, and the same amount of chip for a table of 2 and a table of 6. Our dinners came out about 2 minutes after each other so no one could start eating until the 1st was cold. I dont know if they were short staffed but for that much money I was thinking it should be better service. read more

The rice and beans are authentic and the meats are perfectly cooked. I had the Green Chile Andale, my husband had the Carne Asada. Both were delicious.
