Okay, this is the cutest Mexican joint I've ever been to! It's like Mexican restaurant meets a little vintage cafe vibe. When you pull up to the restaurant, there's a cute "Tow Mater" truck with a fountain coming out of it. When you enter the restaurant, it's decorated beautifully. It's a walk up to order style. We ordered 2 burritos, a chilaquiles, 2 pancakes, a breakfast plate, a carne asada plate along with 4 hot chocolates. Everything, and I mean everything, was delicious! We've never had chilaquiles before, but so glad we tried it! It was actually my favorite dish out of all of them. Something about that refried beans, over easy egg with the sauce and chips were so good! Restaurant was very clean, even the bathrooms. Workers were nice. Food came out pretty quickly. We came here on our last day in Seattle, and mannnnn i wish we would've came sooner. The food was delicious, authentic mexican food. I had the habanero chilaquiles, and they were spicy and super flavorful. Also tried their pancakes and hot chocolate, yum!!! Their service was awesome, we got to speak with the owner who told us a bit about his background and how they started the restaurant from the ground up. He even gave us some of their house made agua frescas. Overall, highly recommend this restaurant!! read more

Stopped by El Diablo on a weekday and didn't have to wait much! I actually found out about this spot because a local Mexican seafood pop-up shouted them out as a personal favorite. I ordered the Burritos Nortenos with bistec, and it was incredible. I don't see norteno-style burritos on menus very often, but I love what they do with them and it seems very authentic. They're smaller than a standard burrito, making them way less heavy and far less of a giant commitment - almost like a cross between a taco and a burrito, and without filler rice, just a small smear of refried beans, delicious sautéed veggies, and incredible steak. The sliced beef was buttery, juicy, tender, perfectly charred, and packed with flavor. The burrito had a nice little kick to it from the green long peppers, though easy to take some out if you prefer a bit less heat. I really loved it paired with the green chile salsa. On top of that, the free salsa and condiment bar is unreal! They offer hot bar potatoes, roasted jalapeños, and grilled and roasted onions. Plus, they have many different types of salsas, each distinct, incredibly flavorful, and ranging from deep, earthy profiles to fresh, herb-forward blends. Very generous offerings. To top it off, the service was super friendly - they even brought out a complimentary basket of warm, puffy cinnamon-sugar bunuelos! I'm so glad I gave them a try. Very delicious! I was pleasantly surprised by the creative menu and loved that they offer chilaquiles--plus a genuinely spicy habanero sauce, which is hard to find! Everything we tried was flavorful and well prepared. The appetizer sort of buñuelo was a great touch! I also really like the decorations, and how festive it looks! The only thing I would change is the ordering process. I personally prefer restaurants where you can order from your table and pay at the end of your meal. Here, you order and pay at the counter first, so if you decide you want another drink or anything else later, you have to get up and order again. Way overpriced! Ordered this and it was $20! No meat, just a whole lot of nothing. I can get a whole plate of shredded beef mole enchiladas with sides for the same price at another Mexican restaurant! Charging over $4 for a bottle of Coke is also way more than a popular Mexican restaurant I thought these mom and pop restaurant would be more reasonable priced. Disappointed read more

My friends and I came in on a Wednesday morning around 10am- was not busy. We were greeted by a friendly staff, who was sooo helpful with ordering as we never came here before. She was helpful and giving us recommendations. The place itself is nicely decorated and clean. It was not busy when we got there, but when we left, the seating area was filling up. A nice detail is that they have coat hanger/purse hanger at each table. The food! I'm a chilaquiles fan and these were delicious! Chips were not soggy but crunchy and not shy on the sauce- I am a sauce girl so this made my tummy happy. The bottled juices were different, but actually liked it! The horchata drink was not too sweet and nice that i was able to take it with me when I couldn't finish. My friend thought the burrito was good. The coffee, was delicious- did not need any added sugar or milk as it is brewed a special way. Will come back again read more

I finally made it to El Diablo. I was not disappointed. When you walk in, there's a huge menu board. You place, and pay, for your order, get a number, then find a place to sit. The place was simple, and cute. Music videos on the television was a that right volume. After I sat, the server brought a basket of sopaipillas. I figured, "Why not, it's breakfast". It made sense. I had the Habanero chilaquiles witha fried egg. Perfect amount of heat. Very spicy for everyone else. Definitely will return. read more

Amazing Mexican food. We're from Jalisco and this is some of the most authentic tasting Mexican food we've had in the PNW. The chilaquiles have amazing flavor (recommend the habanero if you want spicy). And the owner is the nicest guy. He even gave us some of his house made aguas frescas which were delicious and refreshing (especially the cucumber lime). And the decor and ambience is really nice. Got the chilaquiles divorciados with chile verde and poblano and let me tell you BOMB! 100/10 The refried beans were so good. The cafe de olla here is a must. Was pleasantly surprised at how delicious they make their food -- everything was seasoned incredibly well. I know a lot of people enjoy KiKeys down the road, but I think this spot is beyond better in terms of quality and flavor. Service was also great, and the interior is very welcoming. Overpriced!! The food was mediocre and definitely not worth what you pay. These exact dishes cost a fraction of the price back in LA! I'll never understand why food is so overpriced here in WA. Perhaps because they know people will still pay for it. SMH. The staff were nice and I appreciated the complementary bunuelos while we waited for our food. They also checked in on us mid meal, that was nice. However the food did not stand out at all. We wanted to like this place, we really did. We were hoping to finally finding a piece of home, sadly we were disappointed. The chilaquiles divorciados everyone raved about were mushy and drenched in chile. The red chile tasted like a canned chile and the green was overbearing and too spicy. The cafe de olla had a strange taste to it, definitely not like the cafes back home. I assume it was either Anise or Cloves. Either way the taste was strong and it instantly lost us then. Lastly their "bottled" Horchata (this bothered me so much. Any true athletic Mexican restaurant should not be bothered with gentrification and "bottling" their drinks. Terrible and a slap in the face!) the cinnamon was again overbearing. Let's just say even my children didn't like it. It's hard to mess up Horchata, in this case the store bought stuff would have tasted better. At $6+ a bottle, HUGE miss for us. I'd have to say the best part was probably their chorizo burritos. The chorizo was interesting looking, I've never seen anything like it. The consistency of the meat resembled carbs asada and threw us for a loop when we saw it. Nevertheless that and their green salsa on the side, were the best part of the experience. We may give this place another try, but it would be for their burritos and salsa only! read more

I am currently texting everyone I know to meet me here for a meal. I may never cook again. EVERYTHING about this place makes me happy. The varied vegetarian options. The love in their food you can taste, the gorgeous china, the BREAKFAST MENU served through lunch at a MEXICAN PLACE. Who knew there were so many new ways to offer pancakes? One has pistachios! The fruit and yogurt bowl looked like a fine hotel's. RIPE exotic fruit expertly cut and arranged and fresh unbruised berries over house made granola and yogurt. IN DECEMBER. Axel, an owner's nephew and the unintroduced young woman at the door could not be warmer, more patient or more welcoming. Neither could the sunlight washed room they smile you into. Don't forget to allow a few extra minutes to peer into the glass cabinets, crammed with bright beloved objects, and to appreciate the expertly arranged wall decor. I could bring a blanket and move in and I haven't even really started to talk about the food. Fresh fresh fresh eggs, expertly seasoned beans, fat tortillas made in house with BUTTER. At night for the taco menu there is a clean, plentiful, interesting salsa bar with extra tortillas. I could make a meal without the tacos, but you shouldn't. You should order as much as you can and take home leftovers. You will want to so you can give up cooking like I am going to and so you can help keep this place flourishing although it won't be necessary. It is always full of satisfied looking customers when I am there. Except for those two emaciated guys in the truck in the parking lot. Don't forget to notice them. One more smile for the road.
