Felt like some food and ran into this place. It's kinda tucked away so you gotta look over to find it. Walk in and over to you left and it's inside a small building. We were greeted by a waitress and found a table. I ended up ordering a catfish with Mac n cheese and a side of red beans n rice. Catfish was good....Mac N Cheese was good...Red Beans N Rice was good. Even the Strawberry Lemonade was good. I was told the Strawberry Pancakes were good too. If you feel like some soul food swing on by.

The food is really worth it and it was quite quick. The chef himself came out to ask if everything tasted well and it was an older diner vibe inside which is awesome and what we needed in the area. The portions are real great as well and their biscuits come with I think in house jam. They'll be seeing us around again!

Great food is reasonably priced. Wonderful breakfast. Country Eggs Benedict was delicious. Bar to open soon.

Ok, so had to revisit to make sure the food was foodin... let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The Southern Diner is the TRUTH... head on over there and get you some the food is delicious and there's lots of menu options. I'm a creature of habit so I ordered the same thing as my first visit and enjoyed it just the same Chkn/waffles..Mac&chs...fried okra w/special rice Our server was friendly and attentive, we were seated to a nice clean window table, our drinks (water) stayed full...our meal was served hot and fresh.. thanks George and crew for a great experience... we will be back Y'all should try Southern Kitchennext time you're in Burien

Food was amazing and the customer service was even be! I ordered the shrimp po boy and it did not disappoint. The shrimp was cooked to perfection, along with the sauce that had a little kick to it. I'm definitely coming back here.

I stopped in about 30 mins after they opened on a friday and they had a lunch rush, everything is cooked to order so be prepared to wait at least 20mins. I ordered the 6oz catfish and chips which came with 3 catfish strips, fries, 1 hush puppy, chips and a drink ($16.99) I also got a side of mac&cheese. The positives: staff was kind, pastor at the counter would make jokes with customers and you could tell they had regulars during lunch time. Fries were well seasoned, hush puppy was good and Mac was acceptable. My only issue with the catfish was that it was overcooked and became a bit chewy (see photo). Sitting in there it seems like the wings were a customer favorite so I would love to go back and try their wings and other sides. Since my order took longer (there was a large order right before mines) the pastor at the counter thanked me for my patience and threw in a dessert.

The cabbage here was everything I could ever ask for. I wanted more when I was done. The Mac & cheese didn't look like much to me but man did it serve on tastes. It was cheesy, seasoned and cooked just right. The fried chicken was cooked fresh and seasoned to perfection. My breast was still juicy and piping hot. Call ahead for to go orders or you'll spend your time waiting for the chicken to be fried. The peach cobbler here is not my preferred way to have as I like a pie crust with mine but oh my goodness, I took one bite and couldn't stop savoring this dessert. Do yourself and get you some. There's no parking so we had to park on the streets around the area. The decor is very nice and classic. I liked it. The breakfast menu has everything you can ask for. The service is excellent, attentive and fast. I ordered the French Toasts with bacon, sausage and scrambled eggs. The french toasts are thick and the best I've had anywhere, very moist and flavorful with maple syrup. The egg benedict looks desirable. Yes, it's only a classic American restaurant New Orlean Style but the ambient and decor make it's nice and enjoyable. Too bad that I wasn't there long enough to try the Southern Cuisine. The place is loud, so everyone can talk to their heart desire and no one would care. I think it's a great Sunday Brunch for any family. The prices are quite reasonable IMHO.

The FIRST time we went, we ordered from the dinner menu and when I tell you... EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD. We got the Jambalaya Grits BOMBBBB!!! The Cajun Chicken Pasta good. Honestly, after that meal we were already talking about coming back for dinner again because there were SO many other things we wanted to try. So this time we came back for BRUNCH, and y'all... the Shrimp & Grits were GOOD. But the real surprise for me was the Country Fried Steak & Eggs with that jalapeño gravy. I did NOT realize I needed jalapeño gravy in my life like that. That sauce was EVERYTHING! The drinks were solid, the vibes were good, and the service was great. The desserts were probably the only thing that didn't really wow us they were kinda mid BUT honestly, everything else was easily a 10/10 in my book. And YES... we're definitely coming back. There are still too many things on that menu I need to try! BRUNCH TIP: If you want brunch, make sure you go between 9:00 AM-2:00 PM. I tell my non-Asian friends that they should leave an Asian restaurant if you don't see any Asians inside. I am happy to say we were the odd ducks in this place! Love me some legit soul food. The menu is straightforward. We ordered at the counter. The food is brought to our table. The food took quite a while with big crowds coming in after us. I suspect they cook in batches as multiple groups received food at the same time. It was mostly self-service (utensils, water) until the restaurant quieted down, then we saw servers cleaning tables, etc. The Food: Combo Dinner with two sides, $26 - 5 Stars The combo plat offers two meat choices. I chose the wings and catfish. The wings are sizable and plump. Highly recommend. The catfish was a thinner cut and a bit dryer. I liked the very thin breading on the catfish, not greasy, and it tasted good with Tabasco. For sides, both the collard greens and fried okra are excellent. In fact, I say the okra is perfection! The little corn bread is just right for me. I thought the corn bread has good flavor while hubby said it was too dry. Catfish Dinner with two sides, $24 - 3.5 Stars Hubby complained the catfish was too thin. He's not a Tabasco person, so that doesn't help. I gave him two wings to calm him down. Lol. He loved the hush puppies the best. They are huge with a wonderful crisp. I agree with him! He thought the yams are too sweet; they do look sweet in the liquids but isn't that want yams are intended to be? I think he just needs to order differently in the future. Note they have a 3.5% service charge for credit card purchases. See line on the menu photo.

The mom and daughter were tag teaming the front and kitchen. Super friendly, upbeat and welcoming. The place itself had plenty of street parking in front, but also a side parking lot. It comes with one of everything: Two sides of your choice (can never go wrong with Mac n cheese or greens), two corn bread slices, hot link, ribs, chicken, pulled pork and brisket. We decided to look at some reviews , and decided to try an item to observe the service, and the food. Upon entering nothing about the business screams "Check Me Out" , the inside was small, and so dine in is very limited, and a little awkward. There were three teens running the shop, upon entering the girl working the front was friendly but EXTREMELY loud, she wasn't extremely professional, but was nice, and friendly.. but overall LOUD. Especially for how small the space was she was loud, and the conversations herself, and the two boys working were having openly while working were definitely not the most appropriate, but I wouldn't expect less from unsupervised adolescences. Now, we both ordered a single Mac & cheese just to try something. The price of the Mac was almost $10 for a small 6oz cup... so you really don't get much for the price. Once we got our food (To Go) we immediately got in the car and opened our Mac & cheese to observe it... We were shocked that reviews didn't fall far from our own observations. The Mac had little to NO cheese , and there was a random seasoning sprinkled on top (had no flavor). I took it upon myself to add some 'Baby Rays Sweet and Spicy BBQ Sauce' to the Mac when we got home, and it made it 100% better. Overall I will be giving this place 3 stars due to: lack of professionalism, quality, quantity, and price. The staff were definitely friendly, but overall loud, and she did reference that her boss was old (in her 60's) so she'll have to help her update the photos of the food on social media. I had mentioned we came because we wanted to see for ourselves how the reviews faired.
