Was driving down to SoCal and looking for a place to eat. Found this taco spot in between all the fast food restaurants and gas stations and wanted to try it out - was pleasantly surprised by how good they were! They're made fresh to order and came out neatly wrapped in aluminum foil so you can easily bring it to your car and eat later. It's a little tricky to find since they're kind of nestled away in a corner behind all the other trucks and restaurants, but despite being in a somewhat dark/sketchy location they still have outdoor seating and tables if you want to eat them right away. We saw some families and other drivers also waiting in line for tacos there. It did take us some time to receive our food since there was just one lady cooking all the tortillas and another person at the cashier, but if you're craving tacos during a long drive would recommend this spot! read more

He did choose an interesting location, but honestly, it's away from the bustle of the gas stations, so we thought it was great. So I rolled in to Lost Hills late in the afternoon on my way down to Buttonwillow, where I planned to flog my car around their racetrack the following day. My buddies and I were crashing at the Day's Inn across the street and planning to leave early in the AM to head the final 10 miles to the track. I was looking for something for dinner. My obvious choices appeared to be, Denny's, Taco Bell, Arby's, Wendy's, Quiznos, McDonald's, Carl's Jr, Jack in the Box, and Subway. Pretty much all of fast food represented. Ugh. If there had been an In 'n' Out, I never would have dug deeper and discovered this little gem, but there it was, nestled amongst the gas stations and tractor trailers; a taco truck. In my book, street food trumps fast food any day. My choice was made. I ordered the enchilada platter. Three enchiladas (2 beef, 1 chix) with rice and beans. It took a while, because it's all made to order. They even make the tortillas. These friendly ladies know how to cook pupusas, tacos and burritos with a wide selection of meats. Their condiment bar includes a hot salsa, salsa verde, nopales, radishes etc. Got my food to go because the area was kind of a dust storm at the time. (no hills to provide a wind break, I guess they lost them) The enchiladas were soooo good, and were sprinkled with the cotija style cheese, and cilantro. I asked the ladies what time in the morning they opened up. 6 o'clock Am. Awesome, I know where I'm getting my breakfast. The next morning got my chorizo con huevos burrito at 6:15 and hit the road. It was delicious and filling. In fact, it carried me all the way through a thrilling and demanding track-day WITHOUT lunch until we stopped at Harris Ranch on the way home, and that's a review for another time. Good tacos. We tried the carne asada, carne al pastor, and carnitas. All are delicious. For being 11 a.m. on a Friday morning, the meat was fresh and well seasoned. She cranks out the tortillas to order. It's a full size taco, no doubled up tortilla. They also have pupusas on the menu, so maybe Salvadoran owned? 4 tacos and a coke for $10. But, you have to evaluate your desire for tacos v. tolerance for shady surroundings ratio. The truck is parked on a back street, with plywood propped up as a windbreak and gross puddles. Next to the truck wash. And since it's outdoor dining, there's that familiar smell that Lost Hills has. For a good taco tho, I think it's all worth it. read more

We ordered chicken and al pastor street tacos (cilantro, onion, lime) Both meats were perfectly moist, tasty and perfect! Some places boil then shred their chicken which can dry it out. My often traveled I-5 trips are boring and usually without a diverse offering of cuisine, unless you favor McDonald's or IN and Out Burger. This place is not pretty but the food is excellent. My carnitas tacos were made with house made corn tortillas and some of the best carnitas, north of San Diego. The menu is varied and will appeal to any Latin food aficionado. There's a couple taco trucks, but this one has its name. We found it parked near the AMPM. Its pretty good food. Not as spiced as I would've hoped though. However, the ladies make the corn tortillas las you order so they are really fresh. We had the Pupusas - a pork and a cheese - as well as some carnitas tacos, asada tacos, and quesadilla. The pupusas were real big and good. The sauce accompanying adds some flavor though not spicy (but they have tapatio) . The asada taco, in our opinion, was better than the carnitas. When we ate at 2 there weren't any flies. Also, its not as fast as fast food, but thats because the tortilla are fresh, so expect a little more than 5 minutes. read more

Very poor customer service. Will not return. Pulled up 7 minutes before they closed with open sign on. Lady said she closes at midnight, has to clean up I told her well your open sign is on and it's 5 to midnight. Wouldn't make a burrito. No burrito for you..just like the soup Nazi on Seinfeld. It's ok, plenty of other places to get a burrito. Lost a consistent customer. Lazy Burrito Nazi. That's twice now there has been an issue out of the dozen times I've been here. So now I plan trips to where I stop somewhere else. The food is alright but if I can't depend on my cash getting a meal because the employee doesn't feel like it, what's the use in doing business in the future. We had two carnitas tacos, el pastor burrito supreme and rice and beans(with a couple of roasted jalapeños of course). The flavors were spot on, portions were large and service was excellent. So we stopped here because reviews were great!! I had to throw our food away. Carne Asada burrito was dry and rice inside not cooked all the way. My side of rice was raw. And beans are not refried style beans, beans had no taste. Waste of money!!! I do not recommend it!!! read more
