This was my favorite part of our Santa Fe trip. (Season was April to June). I bought tickets a month in advance which I recommend. I bought the best seats and we ordered dinner when we got there, definitely go right at opening, we were late and they almost did not serve us dessert. For dinner we had the Chicken in Lemon Sauce, and the Pork Roast. It came with veggies and a side potato salad. I also ordered the Spanish Omelette which we liked. And I ordered the Assorted cheese board which we loved. For dessert we had the flan, and vanilla ice cream, which was simple but a nice way to end the meal. The show was fantastic, loved the dancers in their costumes, and the live flamenco guitarist was marvelous. Excellent show, well worth it and very much, a treat. read more

Show Review Only- I was only in Santa Fe for a short time, so I took the advice of other reviewers and ate dinner before the show so I wouldn't potentially be disappointed. I booked my solo bar seat about 3 weeks before the date of the show. There are different ticket tiers and I selected the cheapest one that was $25 a ticket. Despite being in the back row, I was able to see the performance very clearly due to there not being any obstructions and the comfortable size of the space. I wouldn't hesitate to get the same seating again, especially if it was just me again or with one other person. I ordered their red sangria and thought it was pretty good. The wait staff was also nice. The performance was outstanding! Every single performer was so energetic and talented. I wouldn't hesitate to come back here again if I was in the area and will recommend this spot to others. read more

Amazing show. Terrible food. Eat dinner before you go. The chickpeas in the soup were crunchy. The carrots and rice had been steamed in a microwave and had no flavor. The charcuterie was just a few bites and seemed to be store bought and sliced up. $26. The dishes I saw at the other tables didn't look much better. There were only two other choices unless you wanted the hot dog and chips off the kids menu. With that being said, the show was amazing. The guitarist was fantastic, the dancers were great. First, let me day I definitely recommend attending this show. The dancing is incredible, as is the musical prowess of the guitar player!! 100% go for the show! Unfortunately, since they do offer food, my rating has to reflect the combination of show AND food. In a word, the food is terrible. Un-seasoned bean soup. Pork with so much rosemary that it's like chewing on a branch of the plant itself! Chicken, while better than the pork was so cooked it was like chalk. The mushroom tapas had so much vinegar one of our dinners broke into a coughing fit on the surprising first bite. Cold tomato soup didn't need to be cold honestly, and would have been better heated. The only thing really edible was the small charcuterie plate. Water. They asked at the beginning if we wanted bottled or sparkling. I asked about tap, which caused a stumble by the waitress, some mumbling and then re-asking if we wanted bottled or sparkling. I again asked if we could just get tap as that was fine, to which she finally said something about they had not yet figured out a way to serve it that is safe.... What??!?! How are they cooking back there if the water is not safe to drink? Honestly, if you can't provide tap water, OK, but don't then turn around and charge $4 for a room temp plastic bottle of the cheap water you buy at the grocery store. Seriously, come for the show. The flamenco was great and the food and beverages (and service) just OK. Many Yelpers had advised that the dinner wasn't worth it and truly, it didn't look all that great. We arrived early, had paid for the best seats but were in the third row so we didn't see a lot of foot action. Still we saw some. I'd advise buying the best seats that are available. We got a half pitcher of sangria -- very pleasant, very juicy (ie not much wine?) and an order of the chorizo tapas. Tangy and salty and good. The servers were nice but we had to ask three times for water before they brought some (room temp, no ice, but still very welcome). They stop serving food and beverages before the show but they don't take your credit cards till after (when of course everyone wants to pay and leave at once). That's not too efficient. Don't be in a hurry to go anywhere right after! And it started a bit late too. Not a problem for us. But anyway: the actual flamenco (no photos allowed) was amazing. Great musicians and dancers. Just what you want to see at a flamenco show -- great music, great singing, and great dancing (fast feet and lots of stomping). It would definitely be a five star if we were judging on just the dancing. If you're at all interested in flamenco, this is a must-see. I would suggest _not_ going there hungry. Eat first (or plan to eat after). Get a little sangria to be festive, maybe, and bring your own water because it's really hard to get them to bring you some (although most other tables had water so maybe that was just our bad luck). I'll start off by saying the show was very good. Have been to many Flamenco shows in Spain and thought the performers were great at their craft. The food on the other hand, was terrible!! After sending most plates back untouched, the director/owner came over to speak to us to make sure we didn't give a bad review. A little bit of humility and grace would have gone a long way. Instead she was defensive and didn't listen to our feedback. I went in a little worried the flamenco show might be cheesy, but it was the complete opposite--very professional and absolutely captivating. The live music gave it so much energy, and the dancers were phenomenal. I was especially struck by the athleticism of the performers, and with the male dancer you could really see the control, power, and precision in every movement. The Flamenco portion of the show was absolutely outstanding. The performance lasted about 90 minutes and the live music and dancing were extraordinary. Get one of the top two tiers of tickets or else you'll be in the very back, pretty far from the stage. We could not be more pleased with the guitarist, percussionist, singer, and three dancers. Lighting, costumes, choreography, and energy level were all exceptional. With regard to the food, I don't want to say anything bad about this place because it was a lovely evening overall, so I recommend that you eat dinner before you arrive at one of the many outstanding nearby restaurants. The show starts promptly at 7:30 pm, so just show up at about 7:15, get seated, order a bottle of Pellegrino water, and completely skip the food. There is no need to show up at 6:15 and just sit there for an hour, and again - just skip the food. we went last night for the dinner and a show. the dinner was horrible. No flavor. I did not eat the soup it was awful. The side of mushrooms we had definitely came out of a can. It was very disappointing. The show was great. Dancers and guitar player were amazing. They should only serve alcohol and maybe appetizers as a full meal is not what they are good at. read more

I'll start by saying the show was AMAZING. Worth every penny. However, I could have skipped the dinner and just showed up for showtime. We had the prix fixe menu options, the pork. Not great. Wouldn't even say it was good. It reminded me of bad school lunch. Boring, tough/dry pork, and the carrots lacked flavor and were undercooked. On a plus, the Sangria was perfect! Hands down the best thing we did in Santa Fe. The quality of the flamenco, Spanish guitar, and singing is world class. After dinner we were treated to an 80 minute non stop show. I know these dancer train but how do they keep up. I'm tired and exhausted just watching them. The dancers were such a high quality we couldn't believe it. The guitarist is so good I had to stop staring at his fingers as I was getting dizzy. No kidding he's that good. The best show I've seen in a while and a totally unexpected level of professionalism both by the dancers and the musicians. Both were absolutely excellent. I am a musician and running into these guys (and girl) backing up the dancers was an unexpected pleasure! The drummer played a cajon better than I've ever heard it played before and also sang and led the band. The flautist was also extremely talented as was the guitarist. They all worked with the dancers like they were playing jazz. The stars of the show were the dancers, of course, and they were unbelievably talented and possessed incredible stamina. Most of the dances were very fast and went on for several minutes! The drinks and appetizers are fine, but not the point of the evening. I guarantee you will not be disappointed with the show! read more

Dinner and a show. All I can say was truly amazing. Being an American Puerto Rican never gone to Spain the dancing was beyond beautiful; the way Estefania and Angel were truly amazing dancer, the way they expressed the story on their faces and the body language you couldn't help but be engulfed in the show. the music and singing were dynamic. It was being immersed in Spanish culture. The guitarist Juan Jose was amazing and beautiful, and the singing by Trini De la Isla had an amazing bravado. I could say more but it wouldn't even express the beauty. One must go in Santa Fe or Spain itself. Dinner was also outstanding: We had Spanish tapas, a full dinner with a cold tomato soup that had Spanish chozio and egg (sounds weird but partnered together delicious) and a Spanish version of ratatouille or they call it Pizo. I called to dispute being overcharged for dinner and the owner Stephanie who was very rude admitted she added a 15 percent tip to my bill though I didn't authorize it. The food and service were horrible and I told her tipping is not mandatory, given I was a party of 2, yet she refused saying I got great service. I had to call my credit card company to get a reimbursement for the tip portion as luckily I took a photo of my receipt. My friend sent back his plate, though the replacement plate was no better, and I couldn't order dinner in the first place because the food looked pretty bad at the tables around me so I stuck with the meat and cheese appetizer. Yet the portion was so small and not worth the cost. I find it strange that she feels entitled to add a tip knowing that it isn't correct ethically or legally. Make sure you take a photo of the receipt or otherwise she will take whatever tip she wants. read more

The energy here is fabulous!! My friend & I heard about it through a couple on the street. As we had no set plans, we went for it - SO glad we did!! The hostess who seated us was also one of the very talented (south of Spain origins) dancers. She was very respectful of our seat distancing request. My friend is very fearful of indoors but this was not an issue. Very accommodating! The guitarist & dancers are wonderful. It's phenomenal and reasonably priced at $27/person. You can order food prior to the show but this is not a dinner place... what the menu terms an omelet with potatoes was actually 2 small slices of microwaved quiche. There is no chef but you go for the show & the servers have a great attitude. Drinks reasonably priced as well. Loved it. read more

Never again will we need to do that since the Santa Fe El Flamenco Cabaret Show totally surpassed any flamenco show we have ever seen. The cast was phenomenal! Now I'm in my hotel room trying to contain my desire to replicate the moves! The food was so freaking good! The waitress was incredibly rude, inattentive and slow. The food tasted like something I would get for free on a long haul flight. Entreflamenco is a marvelous dance company. Antonio Granjero founded Entreflamenco in 1998. They originally started out in Spain as a traveling dance company - like many Flamenco Gypsy troupes did many, many years ago. With time, they became one of the most recognized, talented and award winning dance companies of all time. Shortly they started to perform in the USA in San Antonio, Houston, and Santa Fe, subsequently winning numerous awards. It only made sense that they would land a premium performance spot in Santa Fe, where understandably Flamenco is respected and enjoyed by both the locals and international visitors. Most of the dance members are locals, who started dancing at the age of four, but have performed internationally and the better dancers are *always* the older dancers, as Flamenco requires decades of dancing before one becomes good. Note, I said "good." Every season, they bring a guest performer to join them - these performers are almost always from Spain with decades of dancing behind them and numerous prestigious awards. The best dancer, in my opinion, is Estefania Ramirez. She started dancing at four. And her awards are too numerous to mention here, but let's just say she has plenty. She has performed as principal dancer for many prestigious dance schools, academies, and festivals. She will rock your world. Her footwork is unparalleled, her arm movements - both graceful and strong. The discipline and years - and passion - to achieve this level of Flamenco perfection must be at the pinnacle of Flamenco performers over the lifetime of this beautiful, timeless dance. What would Flamenco be without the musicians? It simply would not be Flamenco. The musicians are classical Spanish guitarists from all over the world - also with many awards. Both the singers and guitarists also start performing when they are 5, 6 and 7 years old. The passion in the singing voice of one of these singers will leave your heart exploding. You do not need to know Spanish to feel the language of both love and passion these singers vocalize. If staying at the Lodge, please do treat yourself to one of these amazing performances. If just visiting Santa Fe or Albuquerque, make it a point to attend a performance after a day of sightseeing and wonderful New Mexican cuisine (forgive the bias here) dinner. There are many places in Santa Fe to enjoy Flamenco, but the ambience of the Lodge stage gets you so close to the dancers, you can feel their passion, their discipline and their love for the dance. The costumes are pieces of art by themselves - that the dancers seem to make come to life. Flamenco dance is for lovers, it is for passionate people who have an appreciation for life, and sensuality: it is for you, if you take a chance. read more

Only very minor quibble is that though there are a guitarist and percussionist, some of the music is recorded. Highly recommended. Two women dancers began the program. Then they each had solo dances. There was a guitar interlude while the percussionist changed backstage -- he was the third dancer. About an hour and 20 minutes with no intermission. Get tickets and go. A marvelously intimate venue for some terrific Flamenco. I will keep this concise -- The venue is perhaps 25 feet wide and 45 feet deep from the stage. The pricing is tiered with the first three rows of tables bearing the highest price, the next two rows, medium price, and the last two rows, the lowest price. We opted for the medium price because it was also where the first "elevation" of the audience's seating occurs so our table was about a foot above (stadium-style) than the 4 rows in front of us. While seemingly genius on paper, it proved to not be much help and that is because the stage sits relatively low off of the ground too. Thus, the only way we could see the feet was if the dancers were near the back of the (equally shallow) stage or if we bobbed/weaved in between other people's heads. For $10 more per ticket (next time) I would sit front row, hands down. The flamenco itself was pretty damn good. I am comparing it to a handful of flamenco shows I've seen around the States' but also to one I saw in Seville, Spain (that was the bomb!... this was really close). One thing I noticed is that about 25% of the audience left during intermission which was around 8:45-9pm. That's too bad. While the best individual female performance takes place during the first half, the best male performance (and arguably the best performance overall, we both agreed) occurred at the very end of the entire show. The foot work was unrelenting, almost unbelievably fast, were we not witnessing it live. They can also be coaxed into an encore performance. Oh, and the musicians, especially the lead guitarist, are all terrific. I am a classical and jazz guitar aficionado and the dexterity and rhythmic abilities of that lead guitarist were as good as any I have ever seen... worth attending this show for just by itself! The only negative was the cost/quantity of food. It's incredibly expensive ($4-5 Pellegrino; $12-15 for simple appetizers). Sneak a little bag of almonds or gummy bears in and you'll be fine :) There is no nearby parking, as it's on the second floor and within "the main square." We knew that going in, and decided to just Uber in/out... lots of Uber/Lyft drivers circling the area. This proved to be a good call too. Online reservations with will-call pick up is what I did and the website was easy and logical to navigate and included an excellent diagram of the theater's seating chart. read more

After visiting El Flamenco I left with a feeling that the dancers and staff have an extreme passion for the dance and culture. I was pleasantly surprised to see the dancers actually come out after the show to speak with the audience - it was great to get some insight into a dance I wasn't particularly familiar with. From the two dancers to the four musicians you have top notch and authentic flamenco. Both dancers were astounding, but I have to single out Estefania Ramirez. Her solo performance in a beautiful gown was heart stopping. Now we are really psyched to go to Spain. An earlier review complained about the dinner service but this was not at All our experience. The food was OK (wouldn't go there for the food, but it was OK and the price quite reasonable--not a tourist trap kind of rip-off,) So much heart and soul to the *entire* experience, including the one-person wait staff! Like many places, Santa Fe restaurants are having trouble hiring staff and this woman, the server, OMG, what a trouper! :-D She was running, doing the very best she could, and all while maintaining such a lovely disposition. We had tickets for El Flamenco in March of 2020 but cancelled because of Covid. After 16 months, we finally got to go, and it was worth the wait! We loved the dinner and we loved the show. My husband and I love flamenco, and we have been to shows in Madrid, Sevilla, Granada and Chicago. We didn't know what to expect, but were thrilled with the high quality of the performances, which were truly outstanding. We will return again and again. read more

This is a time sensitive review, specifically about their Fall season, which runs Wed-Sat until Oct 13. The Spanish word for show is espectáculo, and this truly is. You are probably coming to Santa Fe to do something other than seeing world class flamenco, but lucky you, an unforgettable evening awaits. Antonio Granjero and Estefania Ramirez are extraordinary performers. They have just started their Antonio, aside from being a legendary dancer, is also an amazing choreographer. This show is entirely new and different from their Summer season show that ended in August (locals, please note!). If you've seen a lot of flamenco you will still be surprised and delighted by their inventive footwork. Antonio reminded me of a flamenco Gene Kelly with his gracefulness. Estefania is as beautiful, powerful and nuanced a dancer as you will ever see. Imagine you had six hands and were playing the piano-- that is what her artistry of flamenco will show: legs, feet, torso, arms, hands and head all creating beautifully expressive movements and forms while making earthy, sometimes improvizational rhythms with her footwork. This show is virtuosity with joy and a light touch. Lucky you. read more
