I'm disappointed in you, Yelp. El Foro is an a.m.a.z.i.n.g. trip to Meatsville on a beef bullet train. And Yelp only deigns to give it 3.5 stars? For shame. I strolled up on a Tuesday night and sat outside, enjoying the beatiful Barcelona weather. They have an awesome bottle of Tempranillo (Briego Crianza) on the menu. Have you never had Termpranillo? It's an amazing Spanish red. Shut up and get it. At El Foro, you will find magical steak from the rubia gallega - a breed of cows found in a Galicia. I've never seen this on a menu in the U.S. And as I believe I gain the power of all the animals I consume, I was anxious to add the power of a new breed of cow. *Want to read more about what makes the rubia gallega different? https://www.theguardian.com/global/2015/oct/11/raising-the-steaks-meet-the-elderly-spanish-cows-destined-for-dinner-plates The waitress recommended I get it "poco hecho," so it came nearly rare. I'm usually a medium rare guy, but when I saw the look on the server's face, I demured. I would not insult the rubia gallega with additional fire. I sipped my Tempranaillo and looked out on the beautiful Barcelona night. After a brief wait, the picaña de rubia gallega arrived at my table. Every bite was perfection. Now, I've seen some Yelpers complain that their pizza wasn't good here, but those people should punch themselves in the no-no zone for even getting pizza at a kickass steak joint. Another complained that he was charged for bread. That happens all over Europe. Don't hate the continent for its peculiarities. If you don't want to pay a cover charge, get your meal to go. My total bill to sit outside, eat excellent bread and oil, power through half a bottle of awesome wine, and absorb the meat power of a new cow flavor was just 45,30€. If this were in the U.S., I'd be paying at least $70 for the privilege before tip. So if you want pizza, go to a flippin' pizzeria. If you don't want to be charged for bread, get your meal to go. But if you want an incredible steak and great wine, El Foro will hit the spot.

    59 day dry aged steak

I can honestly say, that was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time. The value for money was off of the chart along with the fact that the wine we bought was divine. The service was intensive but not over bearing, he also was extremely knowledgeable when it came to the menu, in recommending the steak and wine. We ordered a 1000 grams of the 50 day dry aged steak, and he let us be apart of the preparation every step of the way. From the slab to cutting to making sure the marbling was to our liking.

This was my favorite place to have steak and a wonderful atmosphere in Barcelona. I'm sad to say. They have closed:(

Gorgeous Cave-Like setting right in the heart of The Gothic Quarter. For food we got: - both Peach and Red Sangria's - maybe the best in Spain. 15 Euros so not cheap - Pan Con Tomate - first time having this dish -- great, - Iberian "Pluma" Acorn Fed Pork - so tender and amazing! - Cod (Bacalao) - perfectly baked I must give a shout out to our amazing waiter LUCAS who spoke excellent english and gave some perfect recommendations. We got here at 7:30 and it was quiet -- but quickly filled up and was totally full by 8:30. It's more expensive than most restaurants but for that you get quality service, superb food, linen napkins, and soft jazz music. We wanted to come again the next night but it was totally booked! Trip Advisor rates this as #57 (as of May 2026) but I think it should be in the top 10. Book a table early guys -- this restaurant will not disappoint you!

Lucas took excellent care of us. First class waiter. The restaurant is in what appears to be a cave. Delightful atmosphere. Very classy with linen napkins, etc. A little more expensive than some other local restaurants but worth it. Outstanding value. Be sure to reserve a table in advance.

Chalito is a chain restaurant in Spain that specializes in Argentinian milanesas, which are thin breaded meat cutlets topped with all kinds of good stuff, and I knew I had to try one. I ordered the Milanesa Mallorquina with sobrasada, Mahón cheese, honey, and a mozzarella base, and it was absolutely delicious. The mix of savory and sweet worked so well together. I also tried a slice of my friend's serrano pizza, and that was really good too. Another thing I liked was that they offer their own special aiolis to choose from. As somebody who loves extra sauce on the side, that was a huge plus for me. The food impressed me so much that I ended up going back to a different Chalito location in Madrid just to try the sausage and chili oil pizza, and it was just as bomb. Their portions are so huge I didn't have room for dessert on either of my visits, but their cheesecake looks amazing, I'll have to grab a slice on a future visit The service was excellent, and I appreciated that they had menus in both Spanish and English. The restaurant is also very spacious, which made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed. You do not really have to stress about getting a table or making reservations, which is always nice when you are traveling. Overall, Chalito is a great spot if you want a satisfying meal in Spain without all the hassle of planning ahead. I would definitely recommend it whether you are visiting or already local.
