After a day of walking from our hotel to sites around the city we stopped in here for a late lunch snack. The place is nicely decorated inside and the service was friendly. They have the typical tapas menu items that everyone else has, so we ordered their gambas and Iberico ham with tomato bread, as well as sangria to go with it. The food was pretty nice; the garlic in the shrimp was slightly burnt, but otherwise it was good. Prices are fair, considering it's situated right along the major roadway with tons of tourism. My daughter and I ate here twice during our trip to Barcelona. She has a shellfish allergy so a lot of traditional Catalan can be problematic for her. The menu here is more pork and beef forward. The Chistorra was a great starter. But the real star was the Iberico Pork Loin that you grill table side on their signature Josper grill. It comes with a salad and fries and is a perfectly sized dinner for 2 hungry people. The Iberico pork is unique to Spain. And being able to finish to your desired doness makes sharing a breeze. Upon our return to the US we've ordered 2 table top charcoal grills and some imported Iberico pork loin to try to recreate the experience for the family members who couldn't make the trip. So I think that's a pretty strong endorsement. Wine list was at a forgiving price point. Don't sleep on dessert. The torrijas with cinnamon ice cream was amazing. read more

Barcelona game 1st (bucket list ) my group was hungry and was craving something other than Tapas which this County is obviously known for. Pura Brasa is around the corner from where we were staying. They have this huge cow outside their window with a variety of side signatures. Our Venezuelan server was good and took the time to explain the dishes. He wasn't trying g to make a quick buck because he was honest about the dishes we asked about. I had the teriyaki chicken and the chicken was easy to cut very light and the teriyaki sauce was very flavorful along with red roasted peppers which blended well with the sauce and of course patatas a la brava. They are oven potatoes with a semi chipotle sauce on top with a small kick to them. A side of asparagus which were also thrown into the oven and were good not to hard and not to soggy. My wife had a steak chopped in long pieces which they slightly cook for you. They bring you a small skillet for u to cook it at your taste. Meat was tender, not dry or hard. It was lean, tasteful and went well with the patatas that were along the steak. We tried both sangrias the one with vino which is a bit strong if you like it strong. We also had the jarro of the champagne one which is lighter and more of a thirst quencher here in Barcelona in the beginnings of September. You want something appetizing and fulfilling this is a place to visit. The pieces are fair for the amount of food you are getting. Staff is very welcoming! If you are by the mall in Plaza De Espanya definitely a place to give it a try read more

One of my goals for Barcelona was to eat mostly seafood, and to have it mostly grilled. That's not the case every where, but this place is all about grilling. The delicious aroma brought us closer, and then we saw the well decorated, comfortable layout with generously sized booths, tables, and chairs - which are not common in many of the other restaurants on this street. As we entered, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. I had tender, flavorful cod sitting atop a bed of cannoloni beans, and my friend got the aromatic paella. Both dishes were delish! Cosy dining in the cellar. Great dishes with tapas, small tastes for Every taste. We were a big group of 60 professors from Norway and gathered up at the great tables downstairs. Serving and bill came quickly and we had the red wine of the house which was great! Molto importante - we had trouble finding the right restaurant as we noticed a big late that there are three restaurants named pura Brava in Barcelona. Beware this mediocre den of fraud. I'm writing to warn others against the activities of this fraudulent restaurant, and I'll tell you why with precision and honesty. I ordered a steak, which was marked on the menu as 12 euros. However, when you examined the menu item, it turned out that this price was for 100 grams of steak, while it was only possible to buy--at minimum--500 grams of steak. So the price for steak was actually 60 euros. Why did the menu list 12 euros as a price? Read on. Well, the steak came, and was pretty delicious. Delicious as it was, there was *way* too much of it. Then, the check came. I spoke to the server, and she told me that she'd pointed out that the steak comes in only 500 gram quantities. Honestly, I missed this. But I am definite on the fact that she did not mention that the price would then be elevated to sixty euros. That's when I asked to speak with a manager. I wanted a discount, and I would have probably been content but annoyed with even a ten percent markdown. But he did not yield one iota. In fact, he asked for the phone and threatened to call the police, immediately, when I had not spoken of refusing payment and was acting quite reasonable. It seemed to me that this was a familiar rodeo for him. I would imagine this happens frequently. I told him we could make a deal, and do this the easy way, or I would write a negative review. (Note, this all took place in Spanish, but I've lived in Spanish-speaking countries in the past.) He said that he wanted payment, and so now I'm writing this review and disputing payment through my bank. While the steak was good, the wine was overpriced and not good compared to other Spanish wines, and my wife's salad was kind of gross. I would avoid this mediocre den of fraud. read more
