The flavors were completely authentic which is so rare and hard to find! I never had Clayuda and soooo glad we ordered it because it was so amazing! Completely fell in love with the cheese, quesillo, tasajo, cecina, chorizo, avocado combo! Our drinks, horchata and tamarindo, were like no other! There's pieces of fruit topping in the horchata which made it special and unique. I also got to taste the prickly pear ice cream - sooo good! We came with my wife's parents (full Mexicans) and they really like it. My wife and her mom got the massive Clayuda. I guess you don't really this in most Mexicans restaurants as this is Oaxacan food. Her dad and I got enchiladas. IMO they were decent. (I got the mole ones). I've had better in Tijuana but that's a high standard to beat. The agua frescas and horchata are not that sweet if you like them sweet. Pros - the clayuda is massive. I was so pleased to find a Oaxacan specific Mexican restaurant, I just had to come try it. I love Oaxacan food and I was not disappointed eating here. I had the enfrijoladas with quesillo and chorizo. I will be dreaming of that dish for months. Everything about it was right. Especially the chorizo. I mean the beans were tasty, everything was seasoned right, high quality, delicious. But man, the chorizo. I've never had such good chroizo. I'm gonna have to come back just to try the chorizo in more dishes. I also got a black mole enchilada and it was delicious. Couldn't have really hoped for much better. The salsa is very hot, but in a different way from most. Made from chile de arbol, the salsa has a very distinct and tasty flavor. So, I was delighted to order chicken and rice soup to start off my meal. However, when I stirred my soup to fluff up the ingredients. THERE WAS A BAND-AID IN MY SOUP. Due to the rude awakening and horror that riddled my system I wasn't able to take a photo; for I was just in so much disbelief. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE . I went in this restaurant asking for a champurado. The lady said it was $12 for one large cup . I thought that was a ridiculous price but I paid anyways because I'm all about supporting small businesses. I went home and asked my grandfather to call and ask in Spanish how much a large cup of champurado was . They told him it was $3.50. I love this mole so much. nobody makes a more tasty horchata. or the liquados, always delicious. i usually ask for no ice and they oblige me. could just pour water in the cup but it still taste delicious to me! service is what it is being that it's only one server ever working. even when dinner rush comes. I have sat down and seen families that come after me. eat before me. this has never bothered me ever. they get the food to you hot. I've never had any mistakes on my food. never had to send anything back. Nice little hole in the wall, had a couple guys playing some music when I got there. The food was good, I didn't really know what to order so I know there were probably better plates to choose from I just wanted something basic. Stanton location Becareful when eating at this location they skimmed my debit card information to commit fraud and charged my card without My authorization when I called they claimed that they were charging a pending transaction from a year ago which doesn't make sense since transactions only pend for 10 days max and they need Authorization to charge someones card.if you have eaten here in the pass check your bank statements to see if you have a new transacsion from them that you didn't make.
