Living in these apartments has been a blessing. First of all, the rent is very affordable compared to the other apartments in the area. The studio is nice size and fit my queen bed, couch, book case, two tables and coffee table. I even had two balcony chairs. There is a large closet with large mirrors. The bathroom has a nice modern sink and bathtub, a bit on the smaller side however I was able to use a rack from Amazon to gain more space. The kitchen has all the stainless steel amenities. The sink and counters are also large. Overall, for a studio of this size and location for this rent price, this place is a catch! When I first rented, it was advertised to me that mostly grad students live there. I was a fellow at ucla working my ass off all day and all I needed was place to sleep and this was a very affordable and nice option. Not to mention that the management is amazing. They felt like family to me. Eric and Tom are very kind and made sure I was happy and all my work orders got fixed the same day or next day. I didn't have bug issues which is always a plus. There was a trash shut on my floor and recycle is on the first floor. There is washer dryer in every floor and there is phone app to buy credit and you can use them with Bluetooth. I never had issues finding a spot when I wanted to clean something. There is a small gym in first floor and rooftop lounge and another small lounge in the first floor and even a small zen garden inside the complex. I recently used rooftop lounge and it is actually really nice. If you are working or going to school at ucla and looking for a budget friendly studio in nice location close to ucla, this is it. I couldn't recommend more. The area is also safe. My apartment never had noise issues. Not to mention Ralph's, Trader Joe's and target are all within less than 5 min walking distance and all major bus stops are a block away. read more

I've lived at El Greco during two different stints the past 10 years - once for a couple of years after graduating from UCLA and again when I returned to Los Angeles after law school. Both times it was the dedicated property managers (Tom and Eric) that made the decision very easy. They are incredibly diligent about keeping the community safe, hard-working, delightful to work with and genuinely care about the residents. It gave my family and I peace of mind to know that this property management team was keeping an eye on things. Beyond the exceptional team at El Greco, it is extremely convenient for students attending UCLA or those working at Century City or elsewhere on the west side. Having Trader Joe's, Ralph's and Target all within walking distance made a huge difference as well. In short, I cannot recommend this property highly enough and want to thank Tom and Eric for all they did over the years to make my experience so positive. read more

Not sure where prior post went. Think management removed it. As another review stated, if you want PEACE and QUIET, this is NOT the place for you. Look somewhere else. Can hear neighbors above and if you have to sides of you! Floors make noise just walking and hear floor mates talking. Doors slam repeatedly. Washer for laundry consistently out of order. What a TRUE BLESSING El Greco Apartments has been to helping our daughter have a SAFE place to finish off her UCLA undergraduate experience. In particular, we have been most appreciative to Tom and Eric for being such great landlords to our daughter in her last year at UCLA. Their stewardship of her safety and well being, always looking out for her, was a welcome relief after a difficult experience in her prior residence in Westwood. Anther key selling point is its location on Tiverton which is away from much of the noise you see on the westside of Westwood, yet is a short walk (2 blocks) from the south side of the campus where many classes are and many places students need quick access to (Trader Joes, Target, etc.). I cannot emphasize enough how quick and hard-working the staff is! When we moved in, we had trouble with the AC and the dishwasher. Eric and Mauricio were on it immediately, and we had brand-new replacements for both. Whenever anything gives us trouble, we create a ticket on the portal, and it's done in a few days. The place is clean and safe and a convenient distance from UCLA, but most of all, it is well maintained, with a wonderful and attentive staff. read more

I've been at El Greco for almost 10 months now and I could not be happier. It's an extremely well kept and modern apartment complex in the part of Westwood where grad students, young professionals, and other adults who want to avoid the chaos of a college town reside. The location is absolutely perfect. It's one block away from three major supermarkets; City Target, Trader Joes, & Ralphs. It's also located on a one way street so there is hardly ever much traffic. It's very quiet and feels like a break from the action in WestWood village. However, you can walk to anything in the village in less than 10 minutes. The location is absolutely amazing! Most importantly, the maintenance and management of El Greco is what makes this apartment complex stand out amongst competitors. It seems like the building is always being cleaned and kept spotless both inside and outside. Paula does an incredible job of keeping all the areas of the apartment complex clean and pristine. While Edgar is extremely quick to respond to any maintenance request and is always eager to help with any type of maintenance assistance you may need like putting something on the walls or just checking things out for you. Lastly, the management team consisting of Zathzil, Alexis, Eric, & Tom are outstanding! When deciding on whether or not to lease an apartment management is one of the key features I was looking for and I feel like I hit the jackpot with this management team. They are attentive, intelligent, efficient, and caring. They make you feel like home and you will feel like home if you manage to find a spot at El Greco! If I could give it more than 5 stars I absolutely would. I was a resident at EL Greco for almost two years and absolutely LOVED living there. The studio apartments are modern and comfortable. I lived on the 4th floor and my apartment was super bright and airy. The high ceilings also made it feel larger than it was. Any time something didn't work or needed fixing Edgar, the man responsible for building maintenance, would come and fix it by the end of the day. I never had to ask twice. The management office always took care of any issue I had and I never had to worry about anything. The people who work in the management office, Tom and Eric, are some of the most friendly and welcoming people I've met in Westwood. During my time at El Greco they were always so nice. I had to move back to my home country due to Covid and therefore had to move out. I had to organize the move remotely as I was already out of the county. Eric and Tom were SUPER helpful and essentially took take of coordinating with the moving company and making sure everything went well. I could've never done it without them. They literally go above and beyond for their residents and I miss them already! The proximity of the building to the UCLA campus also made it really convenient. I 100% recommend El Greco to anyone who is looking for a clean, modern, quiet, safe apartment near UCLA. read more

One of the best things about this community is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! I can walk to Trader Joes, CVS, Ralphs, and Best Buy. It's just down the street from UCLA, but nowhere near the under-grad area. The studios are perfect for post-grads or business professionals because they're affordable while still offering everything you'll need to come home and unwind. The manager is funny but very helpful, the cleaning crew is everywhere taking care of the building, and most of my neighbors keep to themselves. read more

El Greco is absolutely one of the best places to live in Westwood. As other reviewers have pointed out, it's a short walk away from Trader Joe's, Target, CVS, and Ralphs, so all your grocery needs are covered. There's also a bunch of restaurants in the area like Simple Things, Barbacoa, and Denny's (open 24 hours for late night cravings). The building is really neat and quiet and residents are friendly. I've even borrowed eggs from one of my neighbours once. Every floor has two washer and dryers and the best part is that they're card operated so you don't need to get quarters! There's a study lounge with wifi and gym on the first floor, too. The managers are incredibly nice and accommodating. They sign packages for you during the day and are here 7 days a week. A couple things to note is that this apartment only has studios, other than one 1BR. Some come furnished (for a higher price) but most aren't. I had a great time living here and I can't recommend this place highly enough! read more

It is quite noisy, because the neighbors on my floor constantly slammed their doors, ignoring all complaints. Several such tenants thus made it very noisy and disruptive to my studying. Upon move-out, I was nickel and dimed for huge costs of about half a thousand. All for "repainting" and "cleaning". I had kept the place very well. I felt this was quite disingenuous since my unit was neither repainted nor fully cleaned at all when I moved in, such as having many kitchen ceiling oil stains and the window blinds having thick crusted layers of dust that I had to meticulously clean myself with an entire canister of sanitary wipes (yes, it was that dirty). The absolute worst was that there were cockroaches in my unit upon move in. It was absolutely disgusting. No doubt because it's actually a very old building which has undergone some exterior facelifts to look newer. There was also silverfish galore; you can even see them frequently in the stairwells. Lastly, my concerns were voiced but never properly addressed. read more

Great place to live! It's an easy and convenient location in the heart of Westwood, only 5-10 minutes away from Ralphs, CVS, Trader Joes, Target, etc. A 30-minute walk to UCLA Ackerman and 15 minute walk to UCLA South campus. The environment is very clean and quiet since most of the residents are graduate students or above. Everyone keeps to themselves for the most part, except for friendly greetings in the elevator. There is a study lounge that is hardly used, as well as a small gym, jacuzzi, barbecue area, and roof patio. Again, I think everyone is studying so amenities aren't used most of the time. Laundry machines are available on each floor, but the laundry card reloading system is only available on the 2nd floor. Also, there's a noise curfew at 9/10 pm so laundry isn't supposed to be done after a certain time. Management and office staff are awesome. Tom, the manager, is super friendly and funny. Staff are very nice and work orders for sinks, toilets, etc. are completed same day. Con: it is expensive and utilities are not included in the price. One parking space is included (although I don't think that applies to short term). Overall, super happy to be staying here. I really haven't run into any problems here. Price is well worth it though because it's so super convenient! read more

The renovations are extremely subpar. Don't let the appearance of a newly renovated apartment fool you. Once you move in, you'll begin to find that all they did was cover up the old materials by using paint instead of completely changing them. Pieces of glue keep dropping from the sink and around the drawers, constantly creating a mess. As for management, VERY RUDE! Although it is expected that they provide kind notices and warnings, they handle such matters rudely and using threats. Also, though they portray themselves as willing to listen to complaints and taking care of issues presented, they don't. There has been a broken dryer for over a year that my neighbor has complained about multiple times; however, they have never fixed it and think he's mistaken. Once I complained, they still didn't do anything. The machines hardly work and instead of paying $1.75 for drying a load, I end up paying about $5.25! Walls are also very thin and I can hear my neighbors singing, talking, etc. As for rent, SO OVERPRICED! In Westwood, you can find a place double the size for half the price with better amenities! read more

This used to be one of the best places to live in in Westwood. Ever since the old manager left, we have seen so many different folks moved out under the two new guys' management. The new managers are just trying to do things their way without any informed consent. It was so disappointing to see the managers smoking in the buildings in the aisle, and the cigarette smoke got in my apartment through the windows. I really hated this new management team. My daughter lived in El Greco Lofts, three out of her four years at UCLA. I cannot say enough good things about this building and the management staff, Tom in particular. The building was always well maintained and clean! There were very few, if any problems with operation of the apartment itself, i.e. plumbing, heating, appliances. If there was an issue, the complex maintenance man was there to take care of it almost immediately. It was clear that management wanted happy tenants and respected the fact that their tenants had stressful busy lives and did not need any extra stress added. As a mother who lives out of state, this proved to be the perfect situation for me and our daughter. Again cannot stress enough what a wonderful experience my daughter had living there. She will miss El Greco Lofts as she moves out of state to pursue her graduate education. read more
