Drive thru and sit down options both super convenient. Horchata was a little watered down, not thick or enough cinnamon. From the looks of it, had good combo deals and 10percent off for students from 3-5pm. Went with tacos and nachos (not pictured), nothing outstanding but got the job done. Was just disappointed at how fast the street corn tortillas and nachos fell apart. Neither the beef, chicken, or steak was juicy enough to have it fall apart or be as soggy as quick as it did. Would try again.

It's been a little while since I've visited El Indio! Came here for takeout with some friends a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed my meal. Service was great and food came out relatively quick. They do a great job dealing with lots of customers, which I appreciate. I ordered the 3 shrimp taco bundle this go around and enjoyed them! The meal included 3 shrimp tacos with your choice of corn or flour tortillas, garnished with red cabbage, cheese, and pink sauce. These were great! Shrimp was tender and flavorful, the flour tortillas were soft, and the sauce complimented the shrimp very well. They were $12.29 for the 3 tacos, not too bad, but I wish the meal had included a bag of chips. Overall, El Indio is still a wonderful spot to grab some fast, authentic Mexican food. They certainly fulfill my cravings for Mexican food!

Super cute spot close to campus. My daughter and I came to eat here after an appointment at Shands. I had to convince her to try something besides the chain chicken tenders we could get at home, we were both so glad we did! She got a crunchy shrimp taco and we shared a chicken quesadilla and cheese enchilada, plus a chocolate malt and cherry burrito (served with ice cream, and whip cream with chocolate chips). She wasn't too sure about it but decided she loved it!

Stopped in for lunch today for the first time. The food here is fresh and so delicious. The portions are huge for a good price. They have a drive thru or you can walk up and order and sit at the outdoor covered patio. I had the enchilada platter. It came with beans, rice, veggie toppings and guacamole that was tasty. The service was fairly fast with friendly staff. I'll definitely go back.

This place has great prices and delicious food! I went through the drive thru and it took a little longer than a typical drive thru, but the food was very fresh. The burrito I got was huge and bursting at the seams (a little difficult to eat, but great for the price). The drive thru has a nice big menu that's easy to read and there is plenty of outdoor seating as well if you want to stay and sit down.

Awesome spot for some Mexican food. Great value and high quality meals. The carne asada burrito was packed with juicy meat and some crisp tomatoes. There was no rice in the burrito, so the meat was the star of the meal. The Al pastor quesadilla was simple, effective, and very filling. The dishes tasted fresh and delicious. The restaurant has outdoor seating and drive thru options as well. The service was excellent too. Wonderful experience and will come back for more great food!

I always have a hard time ordering because it feels like they can't listen well since the intercom might be old. I always have to check my order before leaving because they always leave stuff out and I'm always missing things. The menu has a nice variety of classic Mexican dishes, and the portions are generous, which is a plus. The food was decent, but it sometimes lacks bold flavors you are hoping for--it can feel a bit bland compared to other Mexican spots in Gainesville. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable, with a handful of outside seating. Overall, it's a decent place for a quick bite, but not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit. This time we ordered a carne asada burrito and we had it double wrapped for .49 cents. For good reason it needed to be double wrapped. My bf highly recommends removing the guacamole and adding onion, cilantro, rice and beans then lastly fries to it. It came to around $10. We usually go to cilantro tacos to get their carne asada burrito but they are closed Sundays so this was our alternative. Cilantro tacos burrito comes to $15 anyways so we are saving just by ordering from here even though theirs is hard to beat this is a close second and beats the craving we had. It was a pretty big burrito and flavorful too. I had the fried chicken sandwich , I know I know at a Mexican place it's just unheard of. But I wanted a mcchicken and that helped with the craving. It was as nicely breaded and big too . I took bites out of my bf burrito here and there too. All in all good place to grab something quick.

I have loved this place for about 20 years I'd say. We would visit my oldest sister who lived in Gainesville across the street like I said probably 20 years ago and was hooked. So if I'm passing the exit for Gainesville on a trip I'm stoppimg by. I would say mainly for the queso but over the years their menu has grown as well as the business since I saw they have other locations in Gainesville but I stick to my og location. From the street especially back in the day it might not look like a place to stop but I'm telling you its worth it. They have added art murals and more seating. I mean this is your drive-thru or grab a bench outside after you order at the window service. I think back in the day it might have just bern family owned but since the growth it looks like they hire college local students to the staff. It will always be my first stop becausr no matter the growth they have stuck to great recipes to every time I go I'm getting more than just queso & a few tacos. This visit I brought my boyfriend and he got a few crunchy tacos & taco sald 2 things I never tried and I got a bowl with their marinated beef with ouf course chips & queso.

I go here too often if this says anything. (At least 2 times a week) There's nothing on the menu that's bad and I always recommend going if in town. It's quick, easy, and delicious food.

Drinks were included with the event, and I ordered a Tito's with club soda and lime, but something was off. On the plus side, we tried the chips and guacamole, and they were really good--fresh, flavorful, and a great snack to share. Overall, it's a good spot if you're looking for a social, energetic atmosphere, but the drinks didn't quite hit the mark for me. Might give it another try for the food or a different cocktail.

Keep Austin weird!…read more Oh wait, we're in Gainesville. Been years and years since I've been in the south. I loved going to Austin Chuys for the food, drinks, and chips on Friday nights. What great energy! When we happened by this Gainesville location I knew we had to stop in. It still has a great vibe, now with T-shirts of fajita raccoons for sale up front. There was definitely a family vibe here. It was better lit and all types of folks enjoying. I ordered the steak and chicken combo fajitas. I remembered it was the cheapest way to get the most meat. That hasn't changed. Two portions of meat came out on the sizzling platter, with another for cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. Another plate for rice and beans. And t Yet another for the hot tortillas made fresh in the machine. We also got the chicken tacos, which came on an attractive plate. The chicken tortilla soup was well received too. But the best thing was unlimited fresh chips. They brought it out before even saying hi and taking drink orders, to maximize our grazing time. As we comped away dipping in the fresh house made salsa, they kept bringing out more. My jaws are sore from so much chewing!

The chips were perfect, not too thin and not too thick. They came with two salsas. Both were tasty. Not sure if there is a spicier option but we will check next time. I ordered the Birria tacos. They were so delicious! So much flavor! The avocado tomatillo salsa was perfect with it. My husband ordered the Al Pastor tacos. It was very traditional Al pastor. He loved the black beans. His words were " these are the best black beans I have ever had!" Our son ordered the chorizo tacos. First, I have never seen chorizo tacos offered in a Mexican restaurant. I had the Jose Cuervo margarita, which was fine for 8 dollars. Not as strong as some other restaurants in Orlando, but not going to complain for 8 bucks. The scallop quesadilla was decently sized for one person. It had a fair amount of bay scallops, peppers, onions, and tomatoes. The sauce was pretty good too, and adding hot sauce helped with the heat. The guacamole salad was enjoyable too, but the as sour cream tasted standard. For 15 dollars, the scallop quesadilla was worth it! For dessert, the chocolate cake flan was alright for 8 dollars. It was a bit rich and I couldn't finish it all, but it was a sweet enough to enjoy. The service was pretty fast. My food and drink came pretty quickly. My server was friendly and very good.
