I thought I had reviewed this place previously but I guess I didn't. Anyways, I've been here two times now and was satisfied once again! As a heads up for anyone wondering, they don't serve alcohol so this isn't a place to go when in the mood for margs. This place is close to my house so it's nice when not wanting to drive a long way. We went on a Thursday night and there was only one other family there. The server was nice, even with a language barrier. The most recent time I went I had a steak burrito and added cheese. It was probably the most flavorful steak burrito I've ever had in my life, and that's saying a lot. I was only able to eat half and even the next day was it still very delicious. My bf had the burrito supremo and he enjoyed his as well. We also had queso and it was a little thick for our liking but otherwise, not bad. This is for sure more of an authentic restaurant as they also serve sauces like mole so if you don't know what that is, you will be cultured. I look forward to returning! read more

I wish I could give a 3.5. Ended up going down to a 3 instead of up to a 4 because they no longer serve alcohol, which was a bummer because we were looking forward to beer and margaritas with our Mexican lunch. The decor was very festive, but overall the premises have definitely seen better days. The wall paint was peeling in places and the ceiling tiles were stained. Definitely an older place. But the service was very friendly. The salsa was delicious, as were the spicy and verde sauces that came with it. I loved the enchiladas. The bistek con mole was my favorite. My husband's Toluca had an amazing flavor, but the ribeye was very thin and a little tough. Would recommend the dish but maybe the chicken version. All and all, we are not running back, but we'd come by again in the future if we're out on that side of town. read more

It has been many years since I have been to La Pasadita Mexican here in Gainesville. I was actually trying to eat at a place up in Starke, but it turned out to be closed that day, so riding back to Gainesville I figured I would try out this restaurant again as it had been so long. Not much has changed since the last time, at least with the interior. It has the same chairs and tables that another restaurant in town has, though they are starting to show some wear. After going through the menu, I decided I was not going to go with my usual default choice off of a menu at a Mexican restaurant (a burrito) and instead went with the Steak Chimi. I was pleasantly surprised. This was a great dish, and I would happily go back for this again. This restaurant is extremely local to this nice city of ours. Had the Molcajete Fajita, didn't expect to actually get nopales (for the uninitiated: a type of cactus.) as it was mentioned, they dont always have it on hand. First of all the food was a MASSIVE portion, Absolutely amazing flavors. There are few Mexican places in this city that really keep up with the genuinely authentic taste. The staff here are surprisingly attentive, within about 5 minutes of finishing my food, two separate staff offered me a to-go box. I must say I don't prefer the very vibrant colors and designs when it comes to the booths and tables, but there's no doubt that each piece can be considered art. Many other reviews mentioned poor food presentation? but I didn't see a that myself. Food looked divine, I've attached a picture to reference this. Only disappointment was prices don't quite match the online comparisons I had found, roughly abt 5$ more on average compared to online menus. read more

Well Grub hub delivered it late, on its side, cold and missing items even though we live .9 miles away. Ps, the secret ingredient is cinnamon in the red sauce. That's not my jam for Mexican food. I hate to do this, knowing that all restaurants are struggling during COVID, but yesterday's delivered meal was beyond terrible. Sorry, Pasaditas, this just wasn't okay. First off, every item we ordered - chimi, chicken Chiapas, cheese dip, even the tortillas - arrived at just slightly above room temperature. Given that our house is just 2 miles from the restaurant, this should not have happened. Sure, you can say, "Blame Grub Hub," but I don't think so as delivery arrived a bit ahead of the projected arrival time. Then, on to the content: The cheese dip was good, though the portion for just under $5 was a bit skimpy. That was the high point of the meal. My chimi - ewwww. What I can say is that the portion was generous. Somewhere under at least 1/2 cup of sour cream and another of guacamole was the most limp and soggy blob of tortilla I've ever seen. I think once it might have been a chimichanga. (There was no hint of the promised cheese sauce.) Rice and retried beans were crammed in there, as was a portion of pico, but because everything was squashed together and covered with the aforementioned cream and guac, what you saw looked like what somebody might put down to feed an extremely omnivorous dog. I poked around in the mess for a while, and found the chimi was indeed stuffed with chunks of very chewy steak. The beans - when I managed to isolate a bite - were spicy and good. But 90% of this unfortunate meal went in the trash. The chicken As for the rest of the meal, the chicken Chiapas was okay once we got it warmed up. It was served in a divided plate which was its saving grace. The corn tortillas - which previous experience with La Pas led us to expect to be excellent - were essentially shreds of what might have been tortilla semi wrapped in foil. Perhaps they were leftover bits and bots from yesterday's batch? Overall, for $50 delivered, this meal was not one we want to remember, let alone try to order again. Oh my heavens, why have I been avoiding this place?!? This has to be the best Mexican food I have had in all of Gainesville. I ordered the Combo (chose the chicken chalupa, beef/pork tamal, & chile relleno). It was SO MUCH FOOD for $10.65. This could easily feed two people. My favorite was the tamal, it was on the sweeter side, but packed so much flavor. The chile relleno was probably my least favorite because I do not like a lot of cheese, and it is basically a cheesy stuffed pepper. I was a little bit surprised that the chalupa was not what I was expecting, it was a flat crunch corn taco piled high with taco toppings. By the time we got home it was not crunch anymore, but still very tasty. Finding their menu and navigating it online was a bit of a challenge so we drove up there, ordered, and waited in the car for the food to be ready. It did take a good 20 minutes or so for the food to come out, but once we got home it was still warm and more delicious than I remembered. Yes, the prices are fantastic and the service was good. The food however is surprisingly lacking flavor, which is saying a lot because I don't mind my food on the bland side. The fish was cooked well, but the shrimp and scallops were a little over cooked. I do like that there are options for entire family including chicken strips for the kiddo and vegetarian dishes too. My hubby absolutely loves this place so I'm sure I will be back, especially given the prices, I just know to keep my expectations in check. The decoration was really nice. The atmosphere was authentic and pleasant. It was recommended by a lot of my South American friends and I finally tried it today. Everyone ordered enchiladas today and they were all delicious. For ~$10 there's a lot of food! I was able to eat only half of it. To be honest though it is a little salty but it didn't bother me. This place is definitely one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. It delivers on everything you could want with extensive menu options and solid flavors. I especially love the Jalapeño plate, especially when the jalapeños are spicy. The spice balances well with the slight sweetness of the mole, paired with tortilla and rice&beans - a must try in my book! The salsa as well as their agua fresca is also always fresh and delicious. I do wish they served margaritas or beer to pair with these meals! read more

Great food, but unfriendly and conniving service. First off, my friend who is Mexican loves this place. He said that La Pasadita is authentic compared to La Tienda and El Indio. Now the food is good! I think everyone should try it with some forewarning especially with prices. Chips and Salsa are NOT free so don't expect it to be like in other places. A few times when I came with my friend, they did give it to us for free. They have awesome daily specials lamented on the table, but I want to point out these specials DO NOT change. If you want the "real" changing specials, look at the chalk board when you walk in. Again, I've come here many times on my own, with other friends, and each time I've been able to use the Gift Certificates or More (GCM) $2 coupon. Today, the woman who has checked me out many times told me that I could not use GCM because I ordered a daily special from the laminated sheet. She claimed that the disclaimer (which I have a picture of) said that it cannot be used on specials. I said it doesn't say anything about specials and I even showed it to her. It reads "Not valid with any other offer, discount, coupon, or promotion." I asked where it said "specials" she pointed right there. I looked and said none of those words spell "specials". She kept smiling with this fake, conniving smile. Then, after a few seconds of awkward glancing she said that the special is a promotion. Again, I ordered a daily special that doesn't change. It's their on the table every day and all the time when they are open. I won't be coming back because of their customer service. I feel like next time I come. Tried several here and they were bland and so-so. This place is more authentic and the staff is SO friendly and kind!!! The food is delicious, great cheese drip! I had shrimp fajitas and the were delicious. Not over cooked and well seasoned. Nothing here was very spicy-which for me was a disappointment but I know next time to ask for it to be spicier. First time trying some "authentic" Mexican food in florida. Not at all happy . The beans were burnt the rice was decent but they love using salt I'll tell you that much. I ordered burrito de Al pastor for like 16 dollars. Not worth the money. If your an actual Mexican looking for some good Mexican food this ain't the place. But anybody else I guess it's good.
