I wish I could give a zero or a negative on this I definitely would. The food was decent. The service was good. That's the only reason I got a one star, but the prices are outrageous. They raised up their prices two or three dollars per item and look at the receipt that I'm posting because they charged extra for vegetables for salsa for sour cream. The first time I've ever been to a Mexican restaurant where they charged for all the extra stuff and I definitely won't be going back to them ever. I tried to talk to the manager about this or the standby manager as she stated, and she said there was nothing she could do except for give me a discount never again. They definitely need to do better with service. We came on Cinco de mayo. We were cool with the wait so we finally get seated but first red flag was security not letting us in till they ask the manager if we are supposed to be getting seated. Finally the lady tells him yes and we get seated. We are sitting there for almost a whole hour without getting any service from any waiter. We were the only black table and got no service and literally had to leave because another table of white girls came and they got served before us. Even the waiter looked at us and still didn't serve us so we left. Definitely won't be coming back after not feeling wanted. read more

We got takeout from this spot over the weekend. We were excited about the variety on the menu, and our food was ready within 20 minutes of calling. All three of us ordered different versions of the taco salad. The regular beef taco salad was a little bland, and even when I added lots of their house-made tomatillo salsa, it left a little to be desired. Our chips did not come with any regular salsa at all (a little unusual for casual Mexican takeout) but we were given tomatillo salsa because we ordered it on the phone. Chips were crispy and fresh. My mom got the seafood taco salad and loved it, but when I tried it I could taste prominent imitation crab and didn't love that. read more

5/20/2023 The service was terrible the waitress we had was outwardly on her phone at the bar. She was gossiping with friends instead of checking in tables and the restaurant was less than half full. this place is a joke...I ordered a small cheese dip to go and Customer Beware...these people take the word SMALL very literally!!! They charge $4.79 plus tax for a small cheese dip and put it in a small plastic container that the spoon I was given to stir it with only fit 1/2 way into it...pathetic...what a rip-off! No ac, it was 87 degrees. we went during "happy hour" and the margs were supposed to be $5 each and turns out they charge an additional $4 fee for each one so it defeats the whole purpose of happy hour. the food was too salty and tasted like it was from the day before. the server was great but everything else was awful, i felt like i was going to pass out but if you enjoy a meal in almost 90 degree weather then this is the place to go! read more

Advertises $4.99 Margs on the menu and $3.99 for Happy Hour. Ended up charging our table $13.99 for each Marg, during Happy Hour, and said that's the price. When we asked for a manager he eventually came over and told us immediately, before asking us what was wrong, "You pay now and leave or I call cops." In an establishment that loves to serve underage people it's surprising they'd even make that threat. I was a weekly customer for over two years but after being treated like a gullible fool I will not be going back. They should have been shut down years ago for low quality food and false advertising. read more

Nice outdoor seating but was a small area. Service was good, the Margaritas was NOT very strong and week on top of that. Food was average for a Restaurant serving Mexican food. I was not excited about the environment of our outdoor seating. Maybe if we had gone inside things would have been deferent. Maybe next we are in Atlanta we will give them another try. read more

They took the old Pizza inn and made it into a lively cheerful place, the chips and salsa are the best in town, the service is excellent and the food is fresh and delicious, we enjoy the Texas fajitas, and the poblano peppers, it is great to have and alternative to he regular tex-mex in town read more

Watered down, generic cheese-covered bland Mexican food. Even the salsa was bland. I ate here during the first week it was open. The place is a bit of a hole and the food doesn't make up for it. I can't remember what I ordered because it was forgettable. I do know that I have no desire to return. I really hope they improve the ladies' restroom. On a positive note, the service was very, very friendly, even if I was delivered a jumbo margarita instead of the small I ordered. Overall, there are better options in Statesboro. El Rinconcito is definitely my favorite, followed by El Sombrero. EDIT: 2nd visit was much better. Still not as good as the Rinc or the hat, but decent. read more

El jalapeños has a great atmosphere with awesome customer service! I always get the steak fajita nachos over rice and it's always served hot and taste fresh. They have a 50% off all food Mon-Thurs from 5-6 which is a great deal! This place is so great! The atmosphere is wonderful, the staff is nice and attentive and the food is just great. It's rare that we have restaurants these days cater both our stomach and ears. Ever since the name got changed to "Baja Boro" this place has gone down the drain. Was seated on a Tuesday night waited about 30 minutes and not one waiter came to our table. I politely went to the hostess to inquire about our server and was told she would go get her. 15 minutes later, a hostess came to our table and offered to get our drinks while we waited on the waiter. Needless to say the waiter NEVER showed up and the hostess ended up taking our orders. I've never felt so neglected at a restaurant. The staff needs a lot of work on Customer service and hospitality. To begin with it took about 35 minutes for our food to even come out and when it did some of our food was cold, and two of us didn't even get the meal we ordered. Then while we were eating our food a COCKROACH came running out on the windowsill next to us. I had to wait until today to write about our dinner experience last night. There were 5 of us in our party. The restaurant was not packed. We sat out on the deck. Everything went well until our dinner was served. Our waitress didn't serve us. Which is fine. In fact we never saw our waitress again after she took our order, until we asked the gentleman that came back with the second load of food if we could speak to her. And this is where it just all fell apart. The food...the service. 2 dinners to be exact. Mine and the other lady in our party. First hers, she asked for 3 enchiladas. All were cold. The cheese one, well lets just say, yuck. She sent the cheese one back to receive another one, which they burned. The other two in the meantime sat there getting even colder. I had ordered one chicken enchilada & one beef, no red sauce, but instead the cheese dip. Received both beef. Eventually the manager was brought to our table & they were going to recook our food, took a % off of our bill & our dinners were being packaged to go. We also asked our waitress, remember what I said previously that we never saw her again until we requested her, would you please refill our drinks. All but my husband had empty glasses & the only reason he didn't, he had ordered a pitcher of coke. I had diet coke, the other 3 people had sweet tea. So there we sat, not having eaten anything but chips & beans. Waiting for our to go orders. 30 minutes later we finally received them. I checked mine and I didn't even get to the point of checking what kind of meat was there, because it was covered in red sauce, which I don't like. So here I am having to send my food back, AGAIN, waiting now for a 3rd time for my order. After 15-20 minutes, I just couldn't wait any longer...we left. We tipped our waitress the 20%. So did the other party. Even though, she wasn't doing her job. The manager had come to our table once, apologized & walked away. Honestly after that, it was like we were invisible. I had thought the restaurant must be packed and we have become an oversight. Which wasn't true. As we walked to our cars I looked through the front doors & saw possibly 2 tables of customers. I am sorry, but there is no way a customer should wait 30 minutes for a refire. And then an additional 15+ minutes for a 3rd refire. There is no excuse. I left without having a dinner. I paid my bill. I tipped. I would never step into this place again or recommend it. Would rather take a frozen burrito & nuke it. And that's not saying much. Asked for cheese dip ( always had no jalapeño before? 20 plus minutes later we get told "Cooker say we no have plain cheese dip." I ask if owner is on premises. 10 minutes later a man comes up and says we don't have plain cheese sauce on buffet. I told him we ordered it from the menu. Oh well we still don't have.
