I recently wanted Mexican and after doing a search on Yelp came across this place. Immediately upon pulling up you notice the place is very dark and you almost can't tell if they open. Upon entry we waited for a hostess who never greeted us and just grabbed menus and started walking to a table. Once there she just sat them down and walked off. She returned and we ordered 1 drink. After her barely speaking or acknowledging us, we decided to pay for the 1 drink and take our money elsewhere. New restaurants sometime bring out the curious side of hungry people. Such was the case when my daughter and grandson got a craving for Mexican cuisine recently. Having been doing business in Springfield for a couple of years,we naturally noticed when this new place was built and opened recently. Early reviews were so good that many reported eating here days in a row! Such was the quality and variety of items. My daughter beat me to be first to taste the dishes. But...she remembered to bring me a tantalizing taste of what's in store there! I received two enchiladas to go. This review is based upon my personal experience with that dish. And what an introduction! Flavor-filled and tasting like it came from a caring kitchen, these were the best of my Mexican food experience, one that dates back to 1976, and includes having tasted this cuisine in Mexico as we as all over the US. These enchiladas, although to go, arrived hot, beautiful and beautiful. The cheese was not average but full flavored an with strands that pulled like taffy when you brought a piece to your mouth. The beef gravy was thick and rich, pooled around the enchiladas just so. I believe the corn tortillas forming them tasted close to home made. I didn't taste the salsa myself but was told it too, was different and unique and tasted as if it too was house prepared. Soon, I'll go for a far greater immersion in menu items as this newcomer deserves close examination by all who love well prepared Mexican food items. You'll have many to choose from! read more

I was in the mood for Mexican food and thought that I would try this new place out! I decided to order takeout and when I arrived my food was ready! The inside is small but they have tables and a full bar. I was helped immediately and given my food quickly. The queso was good! The fajitas was a mixture of shrimp, steak and chicken and it did not have that much flavor. It was just a little flavorless. The beans, rice, pico de gallo, lettuce and sour cream were good. This is a hidden gem in Springfield. Food is always delicious and fresh. Fajitas and shrimp tacos are our favorites. It gets busy at lunch, but you can get in and out quickly. Full bar is available with lots of options, too. Try a raspberry margarita. You won't be disappointed! read more

This was our first visit since this location opened. Outstanding! When we drove up it was packed and debated on even trying due to the thought of a long wait time. Thankfully we did go in! We were seated immediately. They took our drink orders and brought out a fresh basket of chips, piping hot and incredibly yummy. As we waited I was incredibly impressed by the efficiency of the staff. There was almost zero wait time in between tables as they were bussed immediately. I was incredibly excited to see they had lengua tacos on the menu! They were super flavorful and tender. I'm so happy I finally have a place to get my lengua fix!!! My husband ordered the beef fajitas which were honestly pretty epic! I'm excited to try other items as we all agreed we will be regular customers. read more

The food is pretty good, but be careful when it comes to billing. I ordered the shrimp al ajo and they brought me shrimp jalisco instead. I assumed the waitress had misunderstood my order since they sound similar and the jalisco looked really good so I decided to just eat it instead, assuming that was what I would be charged for. A few minutes later a guy from the kitchen brings out the correct entree, sets it down and says "sorry". I said, "So I get them both?" He didn't react and walked away. So we start dividing up the extra food amongst ourselves and then the waitress comes over and says "I know it's his mistake, but you will have to pay for both entrees." I explained that I knew the order was wrong but decided to eat it anyway, not knowing that they were going to bring the correct entree. She said, "but you want both, right?" I said I guess we have to now because we have eaten half the food. We decided not to make a scene and go ahead and pay for both, but I have never had a restaurant do this to me before. When they bring the wrong item by mistake, they usually say "that's OK, keep it" and bring you the correct item at no charge. If they intended to charge me for both, they should have said so when they brought the 2nd entree and given me a chance to refuse it. If they can't afford to absorb the occasional mistake like this, maybe they shouldn't be in business. read more

Went here yesterday for the first time. Are on the covered patio area - very nice. Wait service was good, but kitchen service was on the slow side. Understand they just recently opened and are learning, so I will allow for that. Food was pretty good, comparable to the other Mexican restaurants in the area. I thoroughly enjoyed the tamales, which came in a corn husk - not seen anywhere else in the area. We will definitely be back, hoping the kitchen service steps up. read more

We came in last Friday at 928pm and they were super friendly and sat us even though they close at 10pm. We recently moved to the area and have been on the hunt for great Mexican food - I think we have found our new favorite spot. The house margarita is good and strong especially for a 'house' - the queso dip is delicious and the salsa seems house made and spicy, which as a Texas native, I love! I ordered the Arroz Xalisco which is everything you would love about nachos without the chips and it was phenomenal. My husband got the chimichanga -he said it was great; he would have loved more queso on top but other than that, it was fried to perfection and delicious. Definitely the best Mexican restaurant in the area. The food was amazing, the inside is clean and welcoming. There is a huge outdoor seating area and it is beautiful!!! Springfield now has 3 Mexican restaurants. This is by far the third best. The portions are unnecessarily small. The service was poor. There were 4 waitresses and 7 tables and I had to wait for the waitress to quit talking among themselves to get and service or drink refills. If you are looking for a bar than this is your place. Okay so this place is awesome. Best Mexican place in Springfield. Lilliana, the owner, is so friendly and you can tell they put a lot of work into the place. Ordered a Texas fajita and a a side of guacamole and chips. The guacamole was turning brown - as it was busy I would have expected the guacamole to be fresh. The fajita was small in portion size and not worth the money. It came with 3 tortillas and a side of salad. The salad had a teaspoon of cheese, a teaspoon of sour cream and a tablespoon of lettuce. I should have taken a picture of it. Really was hoping for more as the atmosphere seemed nice. But with this being the 3rd restaurant with the same menu selection as others near by it isn't worth the visit. If I want food and great service I will stay with going to a different restaurant closer in town. read more
