The team at The Loft is on top of their game, is easy to get ahold of, and is great with follow-up. The catering was excellent, and I loved that they had vegan/vegetarian options plentifully available. Onsite staff was accessible and always willing to lend a hand if we needed to reset something in the room. Only a couple of snags we ran into: 1) in the warmer months the loft had a particular... odor about it. I don't know if it is because there is a workout studio below, or the neighborhood, but we had to cover it up with candles. 2) One particular event which took place in January the loft was without heat for the entire day of our training. An apology was made, but we were not given any sort of compensation for the inconvenience. Overall, it's a great unique space and I would recommend it.

Attended this wonderful class as a part of a Yelp sponsored event. The venue is a really cool shed…read morelike structure that was comfortable and clean. Very large so everyone in the class was comfortable. Brought our own yoga mats, but they provided blocks and stretching straps. Our instructor Lauren was so nice and very personable, but most importantly, a great instructor. The moves she led us through were all pretty basic, but that was fine by me as I'm a newbie to yoga. My wife, who does yoga regularly, loved the class as well. The thing we both really enjoyed was the meditation at the end. Lauren led all of us into a state of relaxed bliss at the completion of the yoga portion. We didn't try any of the desserts provided, but everyone seemed to be really enjoying them. Kudos to Yelp for getting me to try, and enjoy, yoga. Something my wife had been trying for a while to get me to do. We will definitely be back and look forward to exploring the interesting neighborhood it is located in as well!!

Many were beautiful--but when we walked into The Colony Club, we immediately felt that this was the one. The entire style and vibe were exactly what we were looking for. We fell in love with every space--from Bar Charles to the breathtaking Grand Ballroom. We were also impressed by how much was included without extra add-on costs: tables, chairs, food, liquor, signature drinks, and more. It made planning easier and helped us stay within budget. From our very first meeting, we worked with Amber, our sales manager, and she stayed with us up until the week of the wedding. Amber was absolutely exceptional throughout the entire process. She was helpful, organized, flexible, and so easy to communicate with. We met multiple times at the venue, both with and without her, while making decisions for the big day, and she was always available to answer questions, address concerns, and offer thoughtful advice. Amber took care of coordinating with our other vendors, and I never once felt worried about how things would come together. Even during the stressful week leading up to the wedding--when I was emailing and calling constantly--she was patient, reassuring, and truly amazing to work with. Now the food... wow. Having some back ground in this, you have to know what you are doing or something with trip you up every time. They didn't. The food was close to a well reviewed 5 star restaurant. My steak warmed up just as good as it was there. The salad didn't have enough dressing, but still good. Cake and dancing was back downstairs. Open bar was setup in both places. I Know $$$$ was spent but it showed. I hope another friend gets married there to just have a chance to go back.

They offer a tour (well worth the $20 price tag) that starts out with a yummy adult bevvie and takes you through their distilling process, rickhouse, bottling, and event spaces. Our tour guide, Michael, was very personable and fun and made the tour quite entertaining. Loved the little stories along the way. Highly recommend - we'll be back again as we enjoy distillery tours and usually have to go to Kentucky for good ones like this.

It is in the back of a house that I believe is somewhat of an artist's commune. The venue itself was brightly lit, and the stage was huge. There is a gender neutral bathroom located under a DJ booth, that was interestingly decorated, clean, but smelled like sewer gas. The venue is BYOB, and they take "donations" at the door. The donation was pretty much mandatory, but since Hubby's band was playing there, I coughed up $5 (they recommend donating $6-$10). There is brightly lit parking on the street, but don't park in the bus lane, that is clearly marked. Some idiot did, and we had to stop the show and make an announcement.

The Jam Handy is a fascinating venue where Nate and I attended a wedding recently. Located kind of…read morein what felt like the middle of nowhere, there's not a lot of parking nearby but street parking is available and you may have to walk a bit. There is a small parking lot at the Jam Handy, but we weren't really sure if we could park there, even for the rehearsal the day before the wedding. The space is historic and you can read about it online, but it served as a sound stage for the Jam Handy Organization, which specialized in industrial films and filmstrips for General Motors and the United States Armed Forces. The venue itself is a bit rustic and industrial, and serves as a blank canvas for whatever vision you have for your event. In this case, it was a wedding with lots of beautiful flowers and floral arrangements and green plants everywhere. The bar when you entered was a great touch, and guests were able to have a glass of wine before moving to the ceremony room, which had a floral backdrop. This space was turned into the late night dance party area as well. There isn't much around this venue, so don't plan on a lot of bar hopping nearby before your event. In fact, most of the bars didn't open until 5 pm on Friday, the day of the wedding. The only other downfall of the venue was having to go downstairs to use the restroom. There is one gender neutral restroom on the main floor but it was occupied 99% of the time I tried the door. Just something to note for people with mobility issues, high heels, etc. I also noticed some uneven areas in the floors. Overall I had a great time at this venue and was impressed with how it was transformed from the rehearsal time to the wedding itself! Sometimes I think spots like this are a little too much of a blank space for someone like me, who lacks creative vision to turn a place like this into something really beautiful. However, with the right team and vision, it can be exceptional!
