the cutest most authentic local shop spot. we got there right at open, and when i tell you it didnt feel like we were customers but we were treated like family coming to visit. the owners (and their pups) welcomed us in, treated us with good conversation and even better coffee roasted in the very backyard of this antique shop. i wish i could take this store home with me because you really just dint find places THIS authentic and THIS unique. 10/10 store and staff please support this local gem. read more

El Lago Coffee and Antiques exemplifies old Seabrook. This funky antique shop is in an old, 1-story, Seabrook house. Each wood-floored room is packed with all sorts of treasures: NASA memorabilia, art, china, jewelry and more. They also have an extensive collection of S.J. Stout art--in fact, he was there when I was visiting!! They have a backyard with outdoor seating and more stuff for sale. It's really cozy and if your'e lucky you get a visit from Skipper the dog, the El Lago Coffee Mascot. Now on to the coffee... I've always bought El Lago Coffee Co. at my local Arlan's. Their coffee is great and it is ecologically conscious. And they roast it here, themselves. Proceeds from their coffee go towards buying a sailboat to transport their coffee from the source (usually central america) to the U.S. They also use this boat to deliver donated humanitarian and educational supplies to kiddos Central America! (the original El Lago Coffee Co sailboat sank during hurricane Olga in 2008.) The coffee shop part of the house is cozy and inviting. When i was there, the locals were chatting about the current Seabrook buzz. They offer the standard fare: drip coffee, cappucino, lattes, and tea. No cold brew...but i will be putting this bug in their ear soon! They also have scones, cake, and biscotti. I will definitely become a regular at this place. They are open from 10-5:30 Tuesday-Sunday. Closed on Monday. Check it out, and buy local! read more

After ordering coffee over the internet for a while, I finally was fortunate enough to discover this local gem only minutes away from me here in Seabrook. I'm a stickler about getting fresh coffee beans for my daily fix, and I was delighted when I was told they had just roasted the day before when I visited for the first time a few months ago. My favorite coffee there is the Red Cloud's Finest that they have, and it's always fresh when I buy it by the pound. They always offer me a free cup of coffee when I purchase a pound, which is a really nice touch, and it's common for them to offer me a small sample of a different variety as well. The service is great and Joe and Terry are always a pleasure to talk to while in the store. The store is definitely unique, and you walk through the antique shop in order to get back to the coffee counter. I'm always a little nervous that I'm accidentally going to break something. I haven't tried any of their desserts yet, but definitely will eventually. For now, I'm very content getting my coffee from El Lago Coffee. read more

What a cool spot! I will be visiting Seabrook more often just so I can come back to this place! We got the bottomless cup for $4. . uhmuhgash this was a special treat. While we worked on killing our first huge mug of coffee laying out in wooden lounge chairs in the back yard area, the owner was hauling fresh cooked beans out of the roaster to cool and we were downwind! YUM. Turns out, that was the batch of what we had been drinking ("Skipper's roast" or some such, named after their adorably chubby resident doggie) and our second cup was fresh brewed, just ground, barely finished roasting coffee. Whoa. It didn't need the little minimoo creamer I put it in, I wish I had left it black. The owners are super nice and quick with a sample and the store was fun to get lost in for a minute. El Lago Coffee & Antiques was our fist stop to start off 2015. This being our first trip, we didn't realize that they opened at 10 and arrived at about 9:45 but the owners were more than welcoming. The antique shop is entrancing- we spent an hour looking through the 4 rooms without evening noticing and of course ended up walking out with a couple of rare finds. The coffee was amazing! Our first cup was Red Cloud which was bold and strong (just what we needed to get going on New Year's Day). While we marveled over our fist cup, the owner shared his story of how he began and what his plans are for the future. After a tour of the grounds and a sneak peak at what is to come for El Lago Coffee Co, we tried the Boat Roast. We were not disappointed with this roast either! So we ended up walking out with some coffee too! It was too cold to spend much time outside, but I would imagine that with a little sunshine and some music, the outdoor seating would be the perfect setting to relax. I can't wait to go back! I think Monsoon is next to try. read more

This coffee shop is about as eclectic as they come. It felt like we were in Austin, not the middle of Seabrook. You walk through the little antique store to get to the coffee bar in the back. The owner roasts his own coffee beans daily. He always brews three different types to try for free or you can order your own custom drink. We drank our coffee on the back patio, which had about 2 dozen mismatched chairs of every size and shape. I think there was even a chair carved out of a tree trunk. We bought a pound of the Pirate's Stash Peaberry, and a half pound of Kona coffee. Both were freshly roasted and sealed. They are both delicious! We noticed a Belgian waffle cafe that is about to open around the corner, and the owner told us they will be serving his coffee there. read more

There was no parking available as all four spaces were filled so we had to park across the street in the USPS lot. We came mostly for the antiques but thought we would grab a cup of coffee while we were there. The small house was crammed with things that looked as though they hadn't been moved in ages. It was difficult to see what they really had. Alot of dust and cobwebs. There were a few people on the nice back patio laughing and talking which made me think they might be regulars. Since the place didn't appear real clean to us, we passed on the coffee and cake. Probably wont return. read more

The couple that owns this shop are super friendly and genuinely nice folks. The shop is everything you would expect from an old antique shop, with lots of trinkets and treasures. They roast their own coffee there and are happy to take their customers out back and show them the process. Totally cool. Also, they have dogs in the backyard and what's not to love about that! Come here, browse around, and buy a bag or cup of freshly roasted coffee to support local businesses. read more

Serious selection of beans. Friendly owners with a house/shop full of curios and freshly roasted coffee beans(roasted on site in the back yard), and friendly little dogs that meet you at the door. I grabbed a lb of Tanzanian peaberry...very good stuff, and much cheaper than the Kona variety. These owner/operators travel the world looking for quality coffee. Thwy have succeeded! Super neat place! I highly recommend this store/coffee house to everyone! My family and I found some great, antique/vintage treasures at reasonable prices. There is a large collection of eclectic items that "change daily" (as per the owner). My boyfriend had a cappuccino, my Dad had a homemade lemonade (with lemonade ice cubes), and I had a huge iced tea. My BF stated that the cappuccino was amazing, and my Dad said the lemonade was some of the best he's ever had. The tea that I had was also good (but nothing special). :) The owners are very very nice and make you feel at home. There are seats to sit and hang out in (inside and outside of the store/shop) as well. The owners travel to other parts of the world to get the coffee beans, and they also roast them every day in a roaster (in the back of the store). If you're ever in the area of Seabrook, Kemah, or Clear Lake please visit this great place! I promise you will enjoy it! :) Thank you! read more

This place is an unexpected gem tucked away behind Tookie's. They have a bunch of hidden treasures inside the antiques portion of the shop and the coffee bar is in the back. The owners are super friendly and they roast the coffee on site. There are a couple of sitting areas outside and their dogs are so adorable and friendly! I think we will be spending lots of time here when the weather cools off a little more. If you love adventurous treasure hunts and you love coffee, you should definitely go! The coffee definitely wasn't bad, but I would say it was maybe just "good". I think it would have been better if it would have been brewed a little stronger. I decided to stop by El Lago Coffee and Antiques today and pick up some coffee beans. I am drinking some of the Kona now, and it is excellent. The beans are VERY fresh and expertly roasted. They also sell green (unroasted) beans if you're interested in doing things yourself. The owners are very friendly, and knowledgeable about their products. I'll definitely be coming back. read more

Definitely not what I expected when I was looking for a coffee shop. I walked in past all of the antiques to find the coffee in the back. I wanted a cup so the owner handed me a cup so I could pump my own coffee out of the pot. Surprisingly despite the appearance it was one of the best cups of coffee if had in quite a while. read more

The coffee was fantastic. It was served in a 12 oz cup and was only half full, but my 6 ounces of mocha latte were great. The atmosphere however... Was... Lacking to say the least. They have two grungy chairs available by the coffee counter. Definitely not the quaint and cozy antique coffee book I envisioned after reading other reviews. read more

Seabrook's best kept secret for great atmosphere and a really exceptional antique/vintage shop. Delicious food - I just had the homemade pecan pie made from pecans off the backyard tree and it was rich and delish!! Really nice owners and just a fun, relaxing place to look around and hang out. They roast their own coffee beans, have ther own private label coffee, and just make it a fun experience. One of the best assortments of vintage collectibles I've seen in a long time at very good prices. Great addition to Seabrook! read more
