Okay so the pico here is amazing!!!! But go early they run out! Such beautiful decor I never expected the inside to look like this it's such a great atmosphere - the tables are gorgeous the floor color is perfect! So for the food - all of the salsas they have are fabulous but the pico seriously has the best flavor it's so delicious and literally they ran out!!! The ceviche was delicious and a generous portion - the avocado on top added a nice touch!! Squeezed a little lime and added some pico it was bomb!! Quesobirria burrito - loved how the outside was cooked on a a grill for a little toasty goodness! The amount of meat and cheese is out of this world! Such a good burrito with good simple flavor! Of course add some of their amazing pico and it kicks it up a notch! The consume could use a little flavor so we added some of the smoky flavored salsa and lime and it was perfect! We ordered the street tacos, carnitas, pastor, and asada and they were okay. We also had the crispy tacos and they were better than the street ones. The salsa is very watered down. It wasn't on the top of our list for Mexican. The people were helpful though and the interior is decorated with bright colors and very festive. read more

Fun atmosphere! Enjoy the sit down. Ordered the Quesadilla tacos (the photo was different than the plate I got), but it was delicious with the dipping juices. You can switch up the meat, but I went with the original shredded beef. The rice was delicious, didn't care for the beans. Could definitely be supplied with more chips and salsa, because who doesn't love chips and salsa. I would 100% come here again :) read more

We went in on Father's Day due to a closure of one of our favorite spots being closed, we walked in and the atmosphere was off, the decoration is great but the vibe and people seemed very shady. When we were ordering the lady helping us was extremely short with us, and all together not nice. The food wasn't particularly bad, but for the price was not worth it, and overall it was pretty tasteless. Although the service with the lady was negative the young man who helped us out was extremely helpful. read more

The same delicious food from the food truck but now in a cute sit down taqueria near the movie theater. Had tacos but had to try the quesabirria egg rolls. So good. The patio is going to be hoppin once it warms up. Come grab a beer and some food. read more

Since moving here it's been tough to find a place that has both great food, great salsa and great atmosphere. He's called it the "Chico curse" but El Lider broke that curse! Ambiance: The atmosphere was beautiful. The art, the booths and music. They had it all. Food: We tried a burrito and a three taco plate so we could sample most of their meats. The pastor was crispy and flavorful without being overly greasy. The asada was grilled, tender and packed with flavor as well. Went really well with their mild salsa. The chicken was simple but juicy. Perfect for their green sauce (which might have been my favorite of the 3 salsas we tried). Lastly their carnitas, simple, juicy and again flavorful without being greasy. All made wonderful tacos and burritos! Service: The gentleman who seated us and took care of us was very friendly and nice. Checked in on us often but wasn't annoying about it. The best taco wagon in the area opened a Taqueria!!! I'm going to be a frequent customer as I love the food but have always hated going to taco wagons. The representation of our culture is there. With the environment and visual pieces in the store, and rhythm of the music. Nice touch's. But they did a disservice to our people (so if you're looking for a good Mexican food spot, this wasn't it), with the food tasting anything but authentic. The chips were a small portion and they were burnt and the salsa was nothing but onions. (Plus if you wanted refill on chip it wouldn't be free like other spots) The enchiladas were small, most the plate being flooded with enchilada sauce that tasted like pizza sauce with Tapatio splash in it. The portions of beans and rice were small, but it was hidden by the overwhelming amount of sauce that was put on the plate. The only thing good was the horchata. The service wasn't great either, we walked into this big restaurant and it was a ghost town. Then we sat ourselves, then it was 20-30 minutes till our waiter finally came to take our order. We thought at least it will be worth the wait but clearly we were wrong. I instantly wanted to vomit, and my dinner date had to run to the restroom immediately after we left. read more

I truly hope the owner reaches out to me in regards to my experience at their restaurant this evening. Service was absolutely horrible and the man in charge tonite was super rude and un willing to work with us at all Truly unacceptable as this was our 1st time visiting this place Ordered two meals, one was so incredibly spicy neither one of us could eat it, and they refused to remake this meal with something else. Second meal was tasting great but he wanted to still charge us for the 1st meal, ended up taking that charge off so we only paid for the 2nd meal that we only took two bites out of, then he kicked us out of restaurant and refused to box up the meal we paid for to go home with us. His reasoning is that he was way to busy, short staffed and not allowed to make another meal or take it off the price otherwise his boss would take it out of his check WTH with this service? Walked in to order a to go order. Menu is difficult to read due to design and posted menu has no prices. Friendly and order done quickly. I ordered a taquito plate and took home to enjoy. First bite into my taquito I bit down on a large bone followed by a big piece of cartilage. Yuck. I lost my appetite and threw in the trash. $21 wasted. Won't be back. read more

The food was not the same as El Lider Tacos. It was more generic and lacked taste and authenticity. I'll stick with the Taco truck at Esplanade and Lassen. Service was okay, except bus person should not bring tub to bus tables to table and pick up plates while customers are there. Set the tub down, go to the table, take empty plates and return to tub and put dishes in it. The restaurant was nice, everything new and clean. read more

No star due to the ride waiter The waiter was so rude! We ordered two burritos and one was super hot too hot to eat and the other was not hot. So we explained to the waiter and he said there was nothing he could do. That it was the mildest sauce they had . Which is not true because one of the burritos was not spicy at all. He refused to give us something different said we had to pay for it. And sometimes chilis are hotter in different things. It was two burritos. He then whined that he was the only server there. That it would come out of his check and we should just eat it. We refused to pay for the hot one. It cost us 16 dollars for nothing. He told us to leave and didn't even give us the mild one we paid for. I should call the police. That's illegal. It was our first time there and we were excited but because they had one rude person working we paid a restaurant in Chico for nada. Do not patronize this restaurant.
