This place is amazing, don't let anyone tell you different. Living in California we eat alot of Mexican food which makes me not picky but rather critical of the flavors, salsa, and fresh taste in veggies. This place hits all the marks. Amazing fresh salsa, the red sauce on the wet burrito was exceptional. My wife's green spauce on her enchiladas were also bomb. Burrito was full on small child sized. And I can't forget the chips, made fresh daily and have a flavor that is addictive. Much like Casa Sanchez before they fell off. We went up for a weekend at Almanor, stopped on the way up and had to hit it on the way back. Service was quick, we ordered from the waitress to go the first time. Great lil atmosphere in here on the travelers path, last spot on the way out. I hear you have to try the Lobster here, it's flown in fresh! I will be back.

Mariscos La Costa Mexican Restaurant is the best in town. Their food is amazing! I had the Grilled Salad w/Chicken (you can have your choice of Steak or Chicken) and it was the best salad I've ever had! I've eaten a lot of tostadas or salads and this one knocks it out of the park! Manuel is friendly and courteous. He was the Chef at the "old" Ricardo's for 30 years! Come and taste for yourself!

We tried Mariscos for the first time tonight and had the BEST meal and service!! Victoria was amazingly welcoming and helped us pick wonderful dishes from the menu. My husband tried the catfish (ask for it if you don't see it on the menu!) and wow, wow, wow is all I can say! Also, the sauces and salsa were all beautiful, unusual, and very fresh. What an incredible Chico gem!! We will go back soon!

The seafood dishes are gourmet. I'll be back soon. Try the shrimp rellenos plate. No wine, only beer.

Very overpriced for the amount of food served. Their ceviche had way more vegetables than fish. Would definitely not recommend this place.

AMAZING Mexican food! And I lived in Mexico so I know this is good. Friendly service and delicious homemade salsa. Highly recommend.

If you're going for a romantic night out with your squeeze, or celebrating something special, ask to sit in the "wine room". It's a bit quieter and has the perfect ambiance for a that special romantic evening. Fair warning: it's not cheap. But if you're looking for just the right place in the Chico area for a special, intimate evening - this is the place. My wife and I will definitely go back.

This was not the dining experience we were expecting, to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary…read more Our server was not unkind but also not friendly at all, and seemed easily annoyed. We both ordered the twin tails, which have gone up in price and down in quality, since our last visit. The lobster was undercooked, chewy with an odd purple color and unappetizing texture. I asked for mine to be cooked more, my husband did not, as he does not send food back. When it was brought back, it was still not cooked all the way and still had a translucent look on one side. It remained chewy and unappetizing, rather than the delicious and savory lobster we have enjoyed in the past. The mashed potatoes, which used to be to die for, were just ok and the portion size has shrunk. The arugula dish on the plate was merely ok as well. It used to be so tasty that I tried to recreate it at home, this was just a bit of salty and bitter greens. The bread was not served until after the meal arrived and they were out of the yummy brown bread. This meal seemed hastily thrown together, rather than thoughtfully prepared, as it as been in the past. It was very disappointing. We did enjoy the music on the patio, which added ambience to the outdoor dining experience. The "anniversary menu" they gave us was a nice touch.
