My friend kept telling me about this spot and we never had time to try it. Well we finally did and im glad! We came around 4 and asked to be seated outside. I let my friend take over and order. As a half Guatemalan I always am surprised to see such authentic restaurants since I would only see and taste the food when I would travel to Guatemala. the food was delicious and the vibe was great too, we sat outside and we would get checked on frequently. When all the food started coming out I thought we would probably need a bigger table. We ordered agua frescas, garnachas, carne asada and a salad with shrimp (that probably was the most expensive thing on the menu) and rellenitos so maybe I won't order the salad next time. The location has no parking lot but there is plenty of street parking so that's ok.

Not the best presentation but food was alright can work on presentation and quantity

The food was amazing the agua fresca de guanaba and fresh hand made tortillas with beans and plátanos and atol de elote to die for. The prices were super reasonable and the food taste was amazing we payed $100 for a lot of food lol it's definitely worth the 1 1/2 hour drive from Sunnyvale Delisioso y muy amables they were super nice and attentive

My fiance is Cambodian and I am Peruvian, we both are picky eaters and we place el Lucerito as our number 1 place in the whole BayArea! Our favorite is Caldo de Gallina and SuperLucerito plate. Highly recommend it. It may be the 50th time we come here and the customer service and food has never disappointed us. We love your food guys

Possibly one of the best Guatemalan restaurants I've been to. I always have to go back when I'm in the Bay Area. The food is delicious and truly highlights the comida típica Chapina. When you visit this place, make sure you are very hungry because the plates are big! If you are missing our home country's churrascos, garnachas, enchiladas, a cold Gallo, platanitos fritos, pepian, or other dishes Chapines, El Lucerito is the place to go.

I enjoy this restaurant, come time to time for lunch. It must have changed recently has a more fancier feel has nice new tables. The service is a little slow a times could just be super busy and low staff but the food is always incredible. I always enjoy the cara asada swap the plantains for fries. Its always flavorful and cooked to perfection every time. Just waiting for them to get a liquor license so we can upgrade the beer to a cocktail.

They do have a to-go area where you can place order and pick it up, rather than going into the actual restaurant. My go to dish is the bistec sandwich, paired with their house special hot sauce, it is soooo good!!!! They also sell bottles of their hot sauce and salad dressing which is amazing. I recently tried their plantain burrito and it was also very delicious. My go to drink is their ponche which is super refreshing, especially during their summer months. I always forget to take photos of the food before I eat here because I am so excited to always dig in! I'll aim to come back soon to take photos and update my review. I love that they also have a mill valley location as well as Petaluma!

This is a really popular spot among the locals so getting here anytime past 6PM and expecting to be…read moreseated immediately is an anomaly. I came around 5:50PM on a Sunday night and had to wait about 10 minutes, but by the time I left around 6:30PM, the line was out the door and then some. Definitely get here early, and parking shouldn't be too hard with a lot nearby and free street parking. This spot is pretty casual, as in you order at the counter before grabbing a number and sitting at a table. As opposed to a food hall, you get directed where you sit before ordering, and sometimes end up sharing a table with another party, especially in my case when you have a party of 2. Service was attentive and food came out at a decent pace, though they did not come all together. I ordered a large Bistec Sandwich and a Pasteles Special. The Bistec sandwich is a must order, and I recommend ordering the sandwich over the plate due to how fragrant the bread was. Pictures might not look like much, but the bread was sooo good and crispy, and they give a good balance of meat, avocado and veggies. It can be a little heavy, but a large sandwich was perfect for my wife and I to share along with another plate. The Pastales was alright - the rice is pretty unique if you're looking for new flavors, but the pork was a little stinky and dry. The hot sauce on the table is really good and managed to mitigate that, and it's not as spicy as you'd think given the color and smell. The banana leaf in the tamale made it really fragrant with a unique taste, and the lemon sauce on the salad balanced the entire plate out. For a party of 2, I recommend ordering the Bistec Sandwich in large size (since I believe the regular price only gives you half) and another plate. I also recommend using the toast tab (online order) to look at the menu over their actual menu; the UI of it makes it hard to choose what to order and the toast menu has pictures next to the menu item. Given that Marin food options can be quite expensive or fancy, this place is the perfect place to go for a unique food spot, especially if you're coming from SF.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming. It's like a cute little burger shop but for pupusas. The vibes are great. Clearly a lot of regulars here, stones throw from Marin Civic Center. Side-note -- you can freely roam around inside the civic center which is one of the most mind-bendingly beautiful public buildings, a Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece that inspired a George Lucas for Star Wars. But anyhow, yes, the smell, the happy chatter, the bright windows, lots of little tables, very clean, it just feels right. I don't know Blankita but I can tell she's great. I got three pupusas, cheese and bean, revueltas, and cheese and loroco made with rice flour instead of corn. All were excellent, 5-6 bucks a piece.
