Takes both cash and credit card. Parking is limited as the lot tends to get full quickly. Luckily, you can park at the businesses next door. We came here on a Saturday and the place was pretty busy. We had to put ourselves on the waitlist which went by fairly quickly. Waited about 5minute which was fairly good. Their menu is fairly large and can be overwhelming. Many of their dishes are priced reasonably. However, it's tough to figure out what to order given their multi-layer menu. Upon getting our table, it took the server about 10minutes to provide us with the complimentary chips and salsa. The chips were fried crispy, but the salsa appeared to be very runny. They have tons of beverages from non-alcohol to a wide variety of alcoholic drinks. We ordered the supreme fajita quesadilla and Jalisco Special. The Jalisco contained rib eye steak with marinated chicken and sides for $11.99. For the price, it's fairly cheap. However, the steak lacked any flavor and the chicken was a bit dry. Also, it advertised that slices of avocado were with the dish. However, we did not notice it on there. Although it was quite a bit of food, I think it lacked seasoning which made the experience questionable. The supreme fajita quesadilla was very hearty. It's very salty which made it a bit of a challenge for finish the dish. The servers were hit and miss throughout our meal. They tend to let you enjoy the meal. However, it took them a while to ask our party whether we wanted refills. This place tends to get very crowded and that's when you get less attention from staff. The interior decoration of the restaurant is nice as it has tons of character with all the neat decoration. However, management needs to focus more on quality control on their foods and improve customer server throughout the meal. In all, the meal was okay. However, there is areas for improvement. Good place for large gatherings, but make sure you get your name on the waitlist. read more

If i could give 100 stars i would! The staff here is so caring and amazing! I usually come here with my mother or father but the last few times i went by myself. They always would come to talk to me to make me feel i wasn't alone. The chips and salsa guy is always on top of everything very genuine and fast. The server alexander is very nice and quick! The ambiance is gorgeous, it looks like an authentic mexican restaurant i've gone to before in mexico! One thing i can say about the food is WOW! I've gone for about 5 years now and they've never messed my order up and if they have messed an order up for someone else they fix it asap! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Kato. The service is always fantastic and the food is amazing. There is a reason if you come in and there's a wait... it's worth it. They usually end up seating you quickly. The chips & salsa while you order are so good and they are very attentive if you run out. Their specialty drinks are phenomenal (Rosa Mexicana is my favorite). Food my husband loves the chimichangas, and I always get the Burritos Mexicano. After deciding which Mexican restaurant to order from in Mankato, we chose Mazatlan. There were a total of 3 restaurants we were deciding to choose from and we were not disappointed. From the moment we called, the woman who took our order was super friendly. We did a take out order and everything we ordered was very good. We had carne asada fries, Chimi chicken and the Carnitas Quesadilla. I wish I would have taken a picture of the food, but it was that good, I didn't even remember to. Once they did we were able to get our food super quick. Margaritas were amazing and reasonably priced. I got the frozen mango, and my sister did the strawberry margarita. Food was also decent. We did the chicken quesadillas (which I would recommend super cheap for a good appetizer and they actually loaded it up with chicken unlike most restaurants). For dinner we split a combo with enchiladas and tacos. The dinner meals and definitely big enough to split between two people. Decor for Mexican restaurant had the typical vibe to it. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the ambience here! All the hand carved and brightly painted booths. Visiting friends in town and they love this place too. And on a cold night, it was warm and toasty inside. First, they brought heaping baskets of fresh chips and individual salsa dishes for everyone, which I love, since I double dip! I'm a spicy girl, so they custom made 3 steak tacos for me with fresh slices of avocados on top. Yum!! On another plate were my toppings; fresh diced onions, fresh cilantro, refried beans, juicy fresh limes, etc. They even made me one of their famous 'Fish Bowl' margaritas on the rocks! But this was even freshly made with more of a Grand Marnier twist.Talk about service! I'll be back with more friends! These tacos rivaled the award winning Bien Trucha in Geneva, IL. A friend had the chicken fajitas and she let me have a bite; juicy and flavorful and was so beautifully presented also. And the serving was so generous, she went home with plenty of leftovers. I would not come here again. The salsa was an odd version of Pace, kind of thick tomato sauce seasoned with large chunks of onion and cilantro wafted over the top. The chips were on the edge of being over cooked. The "Carne Asada" was the worst I've ever had. It was a cheap cut of steak, cut about 1/4 inch or less and pan grilled into oblivion, it was dry, un-seasoned and did I mention over cooked. I had one bite. The only bright side was the Chili Relleno which was edible, though the cheese in it just oozed out and was watery, like canned sauce. They did take the entree off the bill without asking which earned them a star. read more

Mazatlan has the BEST salsa!! Honestly, I have been to a lot of Mexican places and eaten my fair share of chips and salsa. Mazatlan wins hands down on the salsa front. It's not super spicy, but it's full of flavor and made me happy. I also really loved the guacamole - it's creamy and delicious. I ordered a margarita on the rocks and it was tasty! Pretty much a basic margarita. I ordered the Pollo Norteño and holy buckets it was amazing and one of the best things I've ever eaten at a Mexican restaurant! It was two chicken breasts, served on a cast iron skillet thingy, with pineapple slices, half an onion, cherries and this amazing sauce. Seriously, it was very impressive looking! But it also had impressive taste. The boy got tacos and he really enjoyed them. However, he did comment that they were just basic tacos.
