My first encounter with this local gem was over twenty years ago on my first visit to this Ohio town, and it's still around with improvements, enhancements and is still great overall! A terrific family run business. From its jam-packed with a wide array of dry and can goods on grocery shelves, great meats, extensive local baked goods, and a much renovated and expanded restaurant and really nice Mexican-style bar! If you're in town and are in the mood for an ice-cold Dox Equis and/or Jalisco style Mexican cuisine, this the place for you! Their goodies run the gamut from an incredible Pozole to Grilled Chicken delights, to delectable Burritos to mouthwatering tacos, some terrific, refried beans and incredible chips and salsa! I get that places are trying to cover costs, but it should be clear up front and within the rules. There were no bottles of hot sauce that we could use to spice things up. They did provide some salsa that was more like just tomato sauce with some cilantro in it. The birria had no adobo sauce and was very dry. I understand that meat needs to be cooked with the fat to help impart flavor and preserve juiciness, but here is a limit. The globs of creamy yellow are chunks of fat. Fifty percent of the meat in this taco and the other 5 we ordered were like this. I got to witness how she treated a Doordash delivery person the other day. She was very rude to him. The delivery person had to take a picture and I heard him say that if she put it down, he would take the picture and then she could wait on the customers. She proceeded to take the finished order and put it behind the register counter. It seemed like the delivery person wanted to help, but she did not help out the delivery person at all, and then proceeded to make him wait! I saw the delivery person leave without taking the order... By the way, I was at the counter for more than 15 minutes with the call in order. Like I said, they might have good food, but you're going to have to wait for your order to be finished. And don't expect a smile or a friendly conversation... I have gone to Moncho's restaurant, and there are people treat you well and have great food too. I would suggest going there instead!
