Short Version: Avoid this Honda location for service. Will try to upsell you and then if you don't give in, they refuse any service. Service advisor is named Arnulfo Cruz. Very rude and unprofessional. Needs to be retrained. Long Version: Went to Honda El Monte early this morning around 6:40 AM for a routine oil change. Was helped by someone named Arnulfo Cruz, who initially said it would be fine. Later, Arnulfo told us that the brake fluid on a 6k mile car also needed to be changed and quoted $260 for it. We declined the brake service and said we only wanted the oil change and standard maintenance. Instead of respecting that, Arnulfo REFUSED to service the car AT ALL and told us to come back next Monday. We were essentially denied basic service because we didn't agree to an upsell. So one minute we're able to get our car serviced and the next minute, because we did not agree to the upsell, we can't be seen? Make it make sense Arnulfo. What made it worse is that we actually *bought* this car from Honda El Monte, so we expected better treatment and service. It's frustrating to feel like you're being pressured into unnecessary services just to get basic maintenance done. We ended up going to Honda Pasadena the same day, and they had no problem servicing the car right away. So not only did Arnulfo refuse service--he gave misleading advice that seems designed to pressure people into unnecessary work. This experience was shady, frustrating, and incredibly disappointing. If you're going to trust someone with your car, your time, and your money, it shouldn't be someone like Arnulfo Cruz who appears to prioritize upsells over honest customer service. I got an oil change a few months ago from El Monte Honda. The reason I come back is because the oil changes are included from when I purchased my car. They're doing their best with making people social distance because of the times. There were tents set up outside with tables and chairs so people can hang out/work. I ended up working a little in the early morning while I waited. The area outside wasn't the best maintained as the tables and chairs were very dirty. At the time I came, the mask mandate was still required, but some of the service staff weren't wearing their mask properly and even in front of customers (not covering nose and mouth). I also visited the parts department and they had 1 of 2 wiper blades I needed for my car. read more

today I made contact with who is the manager of the return department. She stated basically said that the return time had expired. The time fell on a weekend and I ended up calling because front brakes looked and it like they had already been handled and possibly returned and they didn't inspect them. On my side of things based on the VIN number, they were the wrong brakes. Which is my fault. I was told that I was be emailed back regarding the return. Which I never received an email resolving this issue. so on April 9, I had to call them which was roughly about a week and a half of nobody contact me via email. To get the bad news that they return the brakes. Because of the timeframe I would never do business with a company like this again. The timeframe for the return was probably one or two days over.. I'm strongly considering calling the Better Business Bureau because their product is defective and look like they had already been handled by else so I refuse to put them on my car. I received a letter from Honda saying there's a recall of the passenger side air bag for my Honda. I came in and made an appointment for the following weekend. A service writer named Ming Peng helped me he was efficient and pleasant to deal with. So I came in on 12/14/19 was told it'll be a few hours I waited in the lounge there was a TV drink and snack machines and free coffee too. I got a text about 75 minutes later saying my car was ready. I made an appointment a day before my scheduled oil change. Went there 5 minutes before my scheduled appointment. They check in my car at 10:34. They told me that It will take about an hour and 20 min to finish the job. It was 1130 I ask The Who assisted my who's name is nick, he said my car will be done any time soon. So I waited, I ask again at 12nn he said the same thing. By 1230pm a ask someone else about my car he told me he will check on it but nothing happened. I brought my car in for service and was helped out by Nick. I needed to have them perform an oil change and to look into why my car squeeks loudly every time someone gets in or out of my car. Just before taking the car in for service my tire air pressure indicator came on and I pulled over to check it out. I saw a large screw in my tire while I was filling the tire and I figured I would take it somewhere to have the tire fixed after getting the car serviced at Honda. Upon picking up my car Nick informed me that they were unable to reproduce the squeak, so they didn't look into it. I figured they just couldnt be bothered to look into a squeak because you would have to be deaf to not hear it every time you get in or out of the car. What really irritated me was when Nick informed me that they had performed a thorough inspection of the car and found the tires to be in great condition and not needing rotation. When I asked him what about the low air warning message he told me that it was normal and the tire just needed air. When I told him that I saw the screw in the tire sidewall right before bringing it into the dealer he admitted that his tech didn't actually inspect the car. I cant understand why you would falsely tell a customer that their car was inspected when it really wasn't. I could have just kept on going and have the tire blow out on the freeway. Now I have to wonder what the actual state of my car is since they never actually inspected it. Did they even change my motor oil and oil filter??? I doubt it now. read more

I was here because they called me about a car I was looking for. When I got here to check out my car, test drive it and compare price with the one I saw online. They wouldn't match it and the APR they gave me was too high when I have great credit! We tried to negotiate, but they kept on trying to add more when I just wanted the model I saw online. They had it, but would give it to me for the price I was asking for. When we couldn't make a deal I walked out and suddenly a security guard comes from behind me and escorted me and my friend out. I went in for my first oil change and the service associate told me it was on the house because it was my first oil change on a vehicle purchased at this dealer! Score! Came in with a coupon available online so it would be knocking $15 off and I come to find out it was FREE! Complimentary car wash available upon request. They were quick as I didnt have an appointment. I sat in the lobby to wait. Nice a.c. and sofas with a phone charger available on site. I waited about an hour and a half for service to be completed. Appointment isnt required but it will help in getting out faster. Check the el monte honda website as they always have coupons for service. They even semd them out in the mail once your car is serviced here. Very nice staff. I will be coming to this location for all my service needs. read more

If I could rate 0 starts, I would. I came in back in 2016 for a maintenance on my 2012 Honda Civic. At the time I had about 103k miles on my car. Whomever input the mileage on my car made a huge mistake and incorrectly input 163k on my car. that's 60k miles OFF! It is now March 30th, 2019 and I currently have 138k on my car. I would like to trade my car in for a different car and this error showed up on my CarFax as an "Odometer rollback"! Meaning, the value of my car on the CarFax has significantly dropped because of this mistake. My car today only has 138k miles on it and I'm STILL not at what they mistakenly wrote wrong back in 2016 as 163k. I offered to bring my car in to prove to him that I only have 138k miles on it today, in 2019! So obviously, writing that my car has 163k miles in 2016 was a mistake on Honda Service's part. I spoke to Tim Smith and requested a letter from them admitting their error to submit and resolve this with CarFax. Tim Smith led me to believe he would write the letter. When I called to follow up, he dodged my call twice and didn't call back. The third time I called, I demanded to speak to him and he told me that he refused to correct this error. This is ridiculous. They made a huge mistake and now, the value of my car is lowered because of it. Thanks for nothing Tim. NOTE TO SERVICE CUSTOMERS: Check the mileage that they document on the paperwork because I am living proof that they are careless. A mistake like this is documented into your car's CarFax report and lowers the overall value of the car. And their customer service? non-exisitant. I will never go anywhere near this dealership nor this service and I recommend that you stay away too. What idiots. YOU HAD ONE JOB. read more

I bought a used car with a trade-in that had pending refunds for the extended warranty and GAP, which the salesperson and Finance Manager were aware of throughout the purchasing process. It has been 50 days and they still are withholding my money after they short-paid my lienholder for the trade-in on the 10th day because the refunds all posted on the 9th day. Vickie in the Business Office would only write an email to Chris in Finance at Car Pros Kia of Glendale (where I made my purchase) stating that she knew they owed me $4160.58, but was not giving it to me because they have a company policy that I was only informed of after the fact which is not to give the customer their money until the DMV gives them the title for the traded in vehicle. This is NOT in my contract! Abu in Finance stated that the contract was changed from a business to business contract when allegedly the lienholder sent the dealership a refund check instead of sending it to me. This is a LIE! I have the transaction history from Capital One, which clears the lienholder of any wrongdoing and shows that Car Pros Automotive Group, Inc. sent a check that was $4,160.58 short of the contracted pay-off amount (which shows that Abu is a LIAR and supports that Vickie [the check writer] was correct in that she knew she underpaid and knew she owed me money.) However, the GM at the Glendale location refused to make an exception to their unstated and uncontracted policy and release the funds that they know they owe me. Trying to get a corporate number is impossible. I was given the number to a Kia dealership that is not even owed by Car Pros Automotive Group Inc by the Glendale location. They are crooked and thieves. Any dealership that is owed by an Attorney (Christian J. Scali) should have proper contracts, which include wording to make Buyers aware that any money refunds or owed to the customer is not able to be released to the Buyer until the dealership receives the title for the trade vehicle. How hard is it to have a proper contract, which is meant to provide clear intentions, parameters, and guidelines for the transaction taking place, which is to protect both the Seller and Buyer in the process. read more

I had received an airbag recall letter in the mail and since I am new to the area I googled the closest Honda dealership to where I live. I made an appointment online and when I arrived the next morning there was a problem with the computer system so it did take a few minutes for someone to get to me and get my info and to get started on my car. Other than that little rough start everything else went well. They had my car taken care of within an hour, and I was out the door. The guy who took care of me (Andika Citra, I believe) was really nice and respectful. He apologized for the computer issue, got the info that he needed from me and the recall letter that I had received and got to work. The driver's side door warning light stays on, even if the door is closed properly and secure. Then the doors no longer lock from the remote and from with in the car. I have been taking my dad's car here for the past couple times and I really like it. They handle all my services and also a recall for the car with no problem. The service department is excellent. Once I arrive for my appointment, there is always someone who comes out and greet me not like other places which I have to track them down and find them. They're always on time and fast with my car which I love that cause I hate waiting for anything. The people here are always very helpful and actually listen and help be understand what is wrong with my car. They take the time and seem to take care of my car. What I really like is that they don't add on things or pressure me in buying more that I know I don't need to do. I hate when dealer do that. I had my car serviced here after I got a flat tire because I didn't have the option to go to my usual Honda dealer as they were completely booked for service. Since, i needed my car to be serviced by the next day I took a chance and brought it here and it was a HUGE mistake. I was told that it would be $350 to replace my tire and I was shocked. When I called my usual dealership beforehand they told me it would be no more than $250. Furthermore, I was additionally charged for service that I DID NOT ASK FOR and SERVICE I WAS NOT ADVISED WAS GOING TO BE DONE ON MY VEHICLE. This has NEVER happened to me at any other Honda dealership. My experience has always been that they communicate with me beforehand before making ANY AND ALL repairs. Before leaving we were left to pay about $600 -- which is completely ridiculous. Proper protocol is to advise and communicate with the customer NOT perform service one is unaware of. I must also mention that I did not sign a waiver for this additional service, as I was not previously informed. I will also add that they send constant emails asking to review your service experience. They also send annoying, constant texts. I will never visit this Honda location for service again. I believe their procedure and protocol is unethical and a rip-off to the consumer. If you have the option, take a drive to Sierra Honda in Monrovia or Norm Reeves in WestCo. These other locations are much better at communicating with customers and ALWAYS inform you of any and all additional repairs (if any) before they go ahead and proceed. read more

Wtf I've never replaced the windshield bought it brand new, so I took it to Gardena Honda (where it was purchased off the lot) and they said they were able to fix it. El Monte Honda lied and just didn't want to fix something that was under warranty bc they won't get paid. I already filed a complaint with corporate. read more
