Love this place. Carne asada tacos are just like the ones in SoCal. I haven't found too many places in WA that I can say that.

The horchata is delcious and authentic!! Service was friendly and quick. They stayed open late so that I could eat (didn't know they closed at 6 on Sunday). If you want authentic Mexican food, come to El Nopal!! The tacos and horchata were delicious and cheap compared to most places! We also got the carne asada fries and that's a great dish to share with a big group. Fries were crunchy and the toppings and sauces on top were yummy. I have recently discovered this place and I am in love! My first visit I tried the birria tacos which were amazing. I got three and was stuffed. Generous portions of meat onions cheese and cilantro and broth was perfect! The very next weekend I had to come back for more and tried the Al pastor burrito- again, delicious! I ordered enchiladas and why do I feel like they're pure tomato sauce and not real Chile red enchilada sauce ... I also get taste of a crap ton of clove or nut Meg in the enchiladas.... kinda disappointed, I'm sticking to making my own at home... wasn't worth the money to have tomato sauce with fall spices in my enchiladas :( I did overall enjoy the mango sorbet. Tried this out on my lunch break and it's alright. I ordered a Carnitas burrito and the meat was decent, but the burrito as a whole was lacking flavor. The tortilla tasted like it was a Mission brand one. They also cut my burrito in half and I've never seen that before lol, unless asked for All in all, it was nothing special, even though it does have 5 stars as of right now. They came with thinly diced onion, cilantro, and a little radish with a couple of limes on top of two DELICIOUS corn tortillas. Horrible restaurant. They messed up my order. Part of it was missing. Part of it was wrong. And what I did receive was nasty. When I called the restaurant, I was put on hold for 15 minutes. No one ever came back on the line. I called back repeatedly and the line was busy. I called back the following day and no one picked up, which is very strange for a restaurant. I suspect they saw my number and ignored the call. Haven't been able to get a hold of them since. I will never support this business again. read more

The best thing about this place is that they have a delicious soy-meat option. Mexican restaurants usually just have beans or vegetables as a lazy vegetarian/vegan substitute, but El Nopal puts in effort to look after those of us with food restrictions! They are happily willing to make any dish vegetarian/vegan if possible; just ask! They have a variety of Mexican food on their menu and I'm sure they'll only increase the options as time passes. The taco portions are huge at this place compared to any other taco joint in the area. It comes with small sides like radishes and onions. They pack their mouth-watering tacos full of meat (or soy-meat!) and definitely give you your money's worth. Don't forget to use the sauces they provide (the green one is my personal fave). Their horchata is also really tasty without an overwhelming amount of sugar like most places. The interior itself is really clean and simple with cute cacti decoration. YALL! I just moved up here from San Diego (originally from Houston) so I think I have a good background when it comes to Mexican food. We can also add the fact that I'm full blown mexi. We always get the asada sopes with some tacos on the side. We've tried the pastor, adobada, and asada tacos. They are so good!!! Especially if you need your taco fix. Everything comes neatly packaged for pick up, they are not stingy with the salsa (which is MAJOR so many places just give you one red and one green), the toppings are always on the side which is awesome bc I am not always craving cilantro on my tacos. I would post pictures of my food, but I get too excited to eat. Y'all should definitely check this place out! We've met different staff and they are all so nice and welcoming. read more

I've gotten Menudo for takeout a couple times from here and it is consistently very good. Large 32oz portion with soft and fresh corn tortillas and onions/oregano on the side, plus chili paste if you ask for it. BTW, they have it almost every day, not just the weekend!
