The sauce looked authentic, but the taste didn't match,it seemed like just tomato sauce with a splash of hot sauce, cilantro, and onions for appearance, which was disappointing. I have gone here for many years and I have only done take out for the past several years because there seems to be some type of thing with Mexican families when they go out to eat. They have multiple kids and there are always babies screaming/crying or kids literally running around like it's a damn playground and this Mexican restaurant is no exception. I went in a few days ago and the only people there at the tables was one family that had about 4 kids and 2 or 3 of them were running around the restaurant. Into the kitchen area, in the register area and was ridiculous. Right before I got there a guy by himself was being seated and given a menu. I ordered and went out to my car to wait. Then I see that guy by himself get in his car and leave. He wasn't in a hurry so there was no emergency so I am guessing he wasn't going to put up with the kids running around and being loud. And the reason I mention this kid thing is that the restaurant should be having control of what happens and if people can't quietly sit at their table they should be made to leave. It's a disruption to the rest of us. And I hate restaurants that allow this. The food......The food is usually good. This last time though the meat in the $28, with tax, fajitas was ridiculously non existent for the price. We had some taco salads also and they were ok. The food has always been ok to good but I think the prices are getting too high for what you are getting, especially considering it is mostly going to be takeout since I aint sitting in the restaurant anymore. I spent $60 and I think I can be satisfied spending half that at Taco Bell or even taco time from now on. Fresh, hot, authentic tasting Mexican food in the foggy old state of Washington! Friendly welcome, quick service, clean tables. My chile relleno was tasty but did not have the egg-y fluffy *batter* I am used to. It looked more like it was dipped in eggs, then fried. Beans and rice were delicious. Chips were crisp and addictive. Their spicy salsa was only slightly hotter than their standard but was yummy. I'd come again but I would order the tacos. Best Mexican food I have ever had at a restaurant. The people who run and serve here are the reason I come back though, I just love them. Ummm buy a pint of their PICO, don't ask questions, just do it. You wont regret it. I use it on everything and eat it by itself. LOVE IT. The manager also is sought after for his drinks. Everytime I am there I hear people raving about any drink he brings. He makes the best margaritas, said numerous people and the friend who came with me who has tried them all over the world. I don't drink so I will just share what I have heard, I can't promise anything. I wish I still was in Everett weekly, I miss my Wednesday lunch there. Serious about the pico. After reading the reviews we were excited to try this place. The only really positive thing I can say was the staff was super friendly. My husband liked the chips and salsa, I didn't care for the chips. I ordered the Pollo Fundido and it came with a weird orange cheese on top and not much chicken inside. It was very bizarre looking. I'm used to a creamy white sauce and this was not it. I barely ate half. The rice was a bit on the gummy side. The beans were good. My husband had the carne asada. Said it was ok. What a great find! Food was outstanding, generous portions with fair prices. Plenty of parking and a high level of friendly service quick to fill your water glass or refill your basket with fresh warm chips and fresh Pico de Gallo and salsa. I had the three cousins, my wife had the deluxe burrito and we both had a very well made cadillac margharita. We will return when back in the area. I had the Molcajete and it was delicious with chicken, beef and a lot of mushrooms. Tue sauce had a yummy, seasoned flavor. They serve it with beans, rice, avocado and a little salad and charred green onion on top. The chips were really thin and crispy which I really liked although a couple times got stabbed in my mouth by their sharpness. Eat them carefully The salsa and pico were really good too. Service was attentive and friendly and I love that they have a lot of booths. This place is right on Evergreen Way, next to Nom Nom teriyaki. The ambiance is of an eatery. There aren't many decorations and I noticed one tv, which is all good with me. It reduces noise and dust collectors. I saw that they make their own sangria. I will try that another day. Just had an amazing dinner. From the minute we walked in we were welcomed. Full menu, you will find your favorites. Wide range of margaritas and I can vouch for the top shelf. The food was good but not great. I had read good things about the veggie options here but I wasn't too impressed - perhaps the meat items are better? The chips and salsa were quite good. The service is great, friendly and down to earth. The blended margaritas were great. The veggie fajitas consisted of fried onions and peppers. A large family restaurant, lots of booth for great seating and a decent amount of parking available in their and adjacent lots. Overall I'd say yes you can get a decent, filling meal here but I have to think there are better options nearby and I wouldn't take the detour off the highway again if nearby. read more

I finally decided to stop into Los Potrillos for lunch after driving by this restaurant for years. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Lunch menu is offered daily from 11am-3pm. Los Potrillos offers a full drink menu; however, doesn't offer a bar/lounge. I prefer to sit in the lounge rather than the restaurant area. Complimentary chips, salsa and pico are offered to snack on while looking over the menu. The chips were harder than I like. The salsa thin and watery. The pico was good. I ended up mixing the salsa and pico together. For lunch I ordered the #4 One Burrito for $8.25: ground beef burrito served with rice and refried beans. I opted out of the rice since I do not care for Mexican rice and requested additional beans in replacement. The burrito was bland in taste with an odd cheese that didn't seem to melt thoroughly. The beans were delicious - my favorite part of my lunch. During my visit, several families with small children dined here. Large parties can be accommodated. Staff was friendly and unobtrusive. Overall, Los Potrillos offers decent sized meals for reasonable prices. Personally I will not return to Los Potrillos for a couple reasons, one being the lack of a bar/lounge and the second being the poor chips and salsa. read more

Loved this place, standouts were the plate-licking pollo a la crema and steak ranchero. Everything was good, down to the salsa and the tortillas which I thought were made in house they were so good. (sadly not but that's ok). Even our server was very personable and attentive. Here is where I scratch my head... The tamale received on a combo plate was the worst I've ever had. It tasted like a dry sponge. I guess let this be a note to anyone in the kitchen if you're looking for ways to improve. I wish they wore gloves while serving tables, but I guess if we are risking going out to eat, then no gloves is a risk you have to be willing. We were out this way for some reason totally unrelated to food but we got hungry, saw this place with a good rating on Yelp so we came in. Sometimes you just get really lucky. This place is fantastic. The staff, the food, the cleanliness (still thinking pandemic here) and even the price for the value. We have tried Mexican food from one end of this country to the other and have had some great experiences. This one is right at the top. I'm not posting pictures or going over what we ordered, I'm just going to say that from our experience, it could not be much better than this. Try it. BTW, I don't post negative restaurant reviews. I feel that a one time bad experience may be just that. A one time thing. I don't like piling on a place. I do like to give suggestions on places that I think are doing everything right.
