First time eating here, and I've read so many great reviews, so I ordered my meal and once I got it everything tasted amazing, and then I got to my main part of the meal the " small burrito " and realized it wasn't the right thing so I politely told the worker it wasn't right and was like oh I heard you say taco dinner not small burrito, when he was the one who told me the small burrito was their best seller. And pretty much told me I was wrong and he was right and wouldn't fix the problem. So after having a horrible day this put the cherry on top. Horrible service will never return. Their chips and pico de gallo are awesome (the guacamole is pretty good too, but I'm not a fan of the salsas) along with the chicken quesadillas and the shredded beef tacos (with cheese and onion)! Make sure to get some of the hot mix in a Ziploc - carrots, onions, garlic (if you're lucky to get it!), jalepenos, spices. To drink they have some authentic Mexican drinks which are ok (I can't compare them to other eateries, but their not really my cup of tea), but their Coke in a bottle is tasty. You'll either sit in your car to eat or take it to go, as this is not really a restaurant. (It reminds me of the little food places at a carnival or the fair.) As someone else has said, you may be turned off by that, but I've never seen anything icky there and I've been too many times to count...and never gotten sick or anything! I have tried a few other items but always go back to what I mentioned. Oh, the rice IMO is very good, and the beans are pretty good as well. You can get them together or separate. Taking into account the quality of the food and cost, this may be the best "restaurant" in the Lansing area. However, the cool thing is, it isn't really a restaurant, it is a mobile food truck/cart. I've tried almost everything on the menu and it is great. This is closer to real Mexican food than the "Americanized" Mexican food served at most restaurants. I can't help but laugh when I'm standing in line to get my food as I think about other people who are going out for dinner in Lansing and spending 10x what I'll spend to get a meal that doesn't compare of the great flavors of El Oasis. Money truly doesn't buy everything. I highly recommend the chicken tostadas and MAKE SURE to order the Horchata / Orchata traditional Mexican drink to go with your meal. I could eat here every day. The portions are just right and it's always consistent. Great menu and service as well. I have tried most things on the menu and only the nachos were sub par for the cheez wiz and the chips turning to mush. The quesadillas are a glorious greasy delight. The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is that sometimes there are slight let downs on the food. I ordered a burrito to be delivered and they didn't put meat in it after I requested carnitas. It was mostly tortilla and rice with very little everything else. I have been visiting the taco truck for years and I am never disappointed. They have the best chicken tacos ever. I have recently discovered the tostados. Today I opted for two bean tostados (you can get meat). The shell is light and crunchy and the sliced avocados on top make it absolutely awesome. Because I couldn't resist, I also ordered the taco dinner to have later. I always get the green mild sauce but there are other options. It is fairly priced too. I got two tostados, three tacos, beans, rice, a tamale, and a Mexican Coke for 16 bucks. Love this place. read more

Delicious, very authentic, and reasonably priced. In my experience, the person taking orders usually isn't very personable, so customer service relies heavily on the food. I'm a HUGE fan, and am constantly tempted to stop on my way home from work. It generally takes about 10-20 minutes to get your food, so make sure you have the time. read more
